Patch Notes: NW.10.20140113a.5

This build is set to go live at 9:30PM PST on 1/24/14.

Storming the Keep
  • Refiner's Cache now appropriately awards rank 2 through 4 enchantments and a chance at the following: Flawless Sapphire, Aquamarine, and Peridot.

    what happened to the greater mark of potency?

    It's still there...
    As stated in the notes, this was a fix to resolve the issue about the mentioned drop rates.

    135 Mb just for that?!?! What were all the bytz spent on may I ask? Lol :D

    The patch size that gets listed on the launcher is the size of all the files that need to be changed. Unless the file is new or being completely changed you aren't going to download the full thing so the size is deceiving and you have to download less than what is listed.

    For some reason, I'm having issues connecting after this patch.
    The connection to the login server keeps timing out.

    I'm having a lot of connection problems, I can not play after this patch?
    Do not put unnecessary updates of the game and it gets worse
    DEVS very disappointed with you, since beta doing ****!

    GameClient.exe keeps crashing for me on last splash screen before entering character selection... so I haven't been able to get back in game after this patch.


    EDIT:
    I use Razer GameBooster normally running Neverwinter, so I removed it from GameBooster and get stuck at Cryptic screen with the bar on the bottom filling to about 5% before it crashes... so running the game straight is actually worse.

    Another edit:

    Arc failed at same point as GameBooster.
    Been looking forward to upgrading my Perfect Sarcasm font, but due to recent changes it seems I will need to grind the Nine Hells for my Pure Sarcasm font... ironic isn't it?

    its the morning of january 28 and I have a 10 gig patch? no patch notes? what am i downloading 10 gigs for? gonna take me literally all day.....

    There have been no new patches since the date of the OP. If you have not patched for awhile or have turned off On-Demand patching then you are going to get a patch download.

    I have been playing for 2 weeks, I was fully patched as far as I know, I accidentally hit cancel when the "patch" buttom pops up before the "play" button.....

    Are you downloading the Test client? If you are, then its basically the same as downloading the whole game fresh, except it WILL mirror any files from your Live version if they are the same, so again, the download size and time is not always what it seems.

    I have done this once or twice and it seems to invalidate or otherwise mark bad whatever file it was reading when you canceled. If it was one of the texture hoggs that would be a 2 GB download.

    Patched while in game following which the game began turning my monitors off. Shortly there after the game constantly crashes after about 5 minutes of game time. How fun is this?

    I have Version NW.10.20140113a.7 and its giving me LOTS of problems. Wont let me play the game. Keeps saying at the top left corner, "Patching files" over and over and over. Freezes my game

    On the page where you first log into the game in the top right you will see options , click on the options and then untick on demand patching then save the settings and then close and reopen the game , when you log on you will probably get quite a large patch but after that you will never get patching in game again.

    I made the mistake of hitting the cancel button when starting the game client this morning. Now I'm stuck downloading a 2GB patch.

    what about the server connection lost and rubberbanding issues? A lot of people are still unable to play at all.

    folks, if you're having technical issues, there is a technical support forum for you to check out rather than post about them here. there are also some threads in the bug section about rubberbanding and lag that might help you.
