Lost Consciousness has a new rust monster

Lost Consciousness has a new rust monster ...
... and I don't care!!

How do I stop those idiotic Admin messages? The "reward notification" toggle doesn't seem to affect it (just my rewards, not everyone else's, sheesh!). A friend who has been playing for a while doesn't know how to stop them either, and told me to just learn to ignore them. But there has to be a way to stop that unnecessary noise, right??

It doesn't look [suppah has acquired an apparatus of kwalish] like a problem to me, just [suppah has acquired an apparatus of kwalish] ignore them and [bhufufu has acquired a rust monster] everything will [aislar has acquired an apparatus of kwalish] be ok! You [jenejed has acquired an apparatus of kwalish] won't even notice [karyryr has acquired an apparatus of kwalish] them!

you can't. they want people to see those messages so they buy keys on the $zen store.

it's like a casino and loud slot machines when they win.

Nope. Not at the moment. It's PWE's way of advertising lockboxes. They hope you'll buy keys so you, too, can have a rust monster.

unfortunately there isn't anything that can be done about these messages because admin messages are required for things like server maintenance notices. you can, however, move the window off to the side using the "rearrange HUD" option when you press the ESC key in-game. the window's name is "normal notifications" and it cannot be hidden as other HUD windows can.

    Suggestions to improve NW:
    - Dualspec
    - Better rewarding foundry and foundry pvp maps
    - Custom PvP leagues with leaderboards instead of the current 'matchmaking'.
    - Armory
    - make jumping cost stamina (to reduce hopping in pvp)

It would be really kind of the Admins not to include who gets what form the lockboxes really, because i still havent met anyone who wants to know.

Somebody from STO was on the forum a month or two ago asking how to make admin messages like the lockbox winners go away and he claimed that Cryptic have given STO players the ability to remove them , I have no idea myself since I haven't tried STO yet but if they have done that in STO then I see no reason why they can't in NW.

Y'know how they'd sell more keys - "Buy at least one key and admin messages get suppressed for 24 hrs".

Thank you all for the feedback. Guess I will have to ignore the useless messages for the time being. Since it's a free game I'll give them a bit of slack. Still, I strongly suggest this silliness be ended. Nobody likes to be spammed.

. . .I do wish the admin messages in created "new" tabs could be disabled. I understand them staying on in the default tab, but please let me disable them in my Guild and Group, and even Custom Channel tabs! These messages spam guild and group chat off my screen many times before I see them. Very intrusive and I don't like it.

They could handle it in other ways, too - like you click the message, and can choose "snooze for 15 mins" or something - it could even produce a second popup about the keys, before going away for the allotted time period - this way you are forced to interact w/ the message but also get to suppress it for a little while.

Along the same lines, they could at last provide a link to the item in the message, so you can actually see what this item is... a new player wouldn't even know wth the message is about, anyway.

The English ones are annoying to me, but whatever. It's the ones in a foreign language where I can't even understand what it's saying that really bug me. I have nothing against people playing in their native language, but why are you telling ME what they got in their language, not mine? It's not going to make me want to buy keys to open something if I have no idea what they even got. And it's not like the game doesn't know what it is, and could tell me in English, it just doesn't.

as a free to play game, if this is the only advertisement we're subjected to, we should consider ourselves fortunate. if it's a nuisance, as i stated earlier, you can move the notifications so they're not right in the middle of your screen. whether there will ever be an option to remove the lockbox win announcements, who knows.

but i do know this thread has become an unproductive rant so it's going to be shut down.
