Coalescent Wards on Weekly Sale

So I just noticed that NW has C. Wards on sale for in the Zen Store for 670 Zen a piece. At the ZAX exchange rate, that means a C. Ward will cost you around 260,000 AD.

Silly, considering the average price of a C. Ward is around 150,000 AD on the AH.

Thoughts?

I'm honestly unsure why c.wards are so cheap on the ah since the changes in mod 2. I expected them to shoot up quite a bit and they really haven't.

Not everyone earns AD as fast as you? Or they could be banking on people not doing research and math to realize that it's technically cheaper to buy them with AD and just use Zen on the AD exchange? *shrug*

When I saw that they were on sale I jumped in game to see if they had dropped in price but was dissapointed lol , maybe the green wards would have been a better sale item , or a much bigger discount on the coal wards...

Well, your average price before Mod 2 was around 100k. They're not around 150k. A 50% increase is a fairly high price jump. Keep in mind people are still using their T. Bars to buy C. Wards and auction them off.

Yeah I just expected more of an increase with t bars being the way to get unbound ones now. I expected it to slowly start approaching z. store exchange prices.

This plus Mod 2 is only just over a month old plus the Christmas event might have kept many of the new players who came with mod 2 interested , if they are going to rise anymore it'll be as the population begins to settle down to it's pre mod 2 levels over the next month or two , that would be my guess anyways.

Demand is drastically lower. 15 cwards to make a perfect now vs 85 previously and you can still get acct bound versions from prayer box.

If people were opening lockboxes at Feywild/Dark Forest rates, you'd have likely seen more of a jump. But with all the enticing goodies in the Rusted Iron boxes making them less of a losing prospect overall to open, there are a lot of trade bars flowing right now.

The same is true for health stones and even Z-Store companions right now. People posting stuff on the AH are going for quick sales, so they undercut those already there when posting, not taking into account the current conversion rates, etc.

PROTIP: Always search the AH before purchasing from the Z-Store. You will often find better deals.

to a similar degree I could spend 25 bucks for a epic mount but that in zen exchange would bank enough AD for 3 of the Steam crab walkers -.- thought everyone knew it was cheaper to buy from players then the Z store? That the Zen to AD ratio was Fubar and its better to sell your zen then to use it?

That $25 mount can be used by every character you will ever make though, whereas the ones you buy on the AH are single-use.

What really pays off is understanding what it is you're buying.

Maybe they are banking on people being so frustrated with the AH lag that they'll opt for the convenience and price increase of the Z store?

Will they reduce drop rates from "Wondrous" Augmentation boxes further

I doubt it , if they reduced the chance of coal ward drops from coffers much more then the % chance would go into the negative meaning we would have to give them a coal ward if we won..
