Mark of union - where to find?

Where do I find them? I have several greater and lesser ones, but not the normal.

I've never seen a drop from dungeons bosses nor from skill nodes. Also, checking the Dread Ring campaign rewards, I can didn't find them.

It's unbelieveable that the greater mark of union is very easy to found, but not the standard one :-/

I won a roll for one from the first VT boss. Wish it was a mark of power.

I asked the same question in a thread and jintortle kindly gave the answer:

Of the 3 Solo Dungeons in the new zone - each has a certain Mark as their reward - Check on the day in the Calendar for the Choose your own Dungeon (usually the weekend) in the Schedule window - and it states which dungeon chest has the Mark of Union - From memory I think it is - Phantasmal Fortress.

Just checked it is Phantasmal Fortress. Buy extra keys - or just take it as it comes - also build up the Gauntlet to max.

NOTE: Ignore the rest of my post as it has incorrect Info . The chest drops are Marks of Potency as rlrobr pointed out.

    *Original post*

If you have a silver or higher Gauntlet you can get them from the Astral Chest:

at least according to the wiki.

Never having got one I obviously can't confirm this.

The gaultlets give you Mark of Potency, not Mark of Union.

I did get one from an epic dungeon skill node. But I assume they're really rare.

    1) You can get a (Blue) Mark from a skill node in any Epic dungeon. However it's a low drop chance.

    2) You can get a (Blue) Mark from a boss in any Epic dungeon. However it's a low drop chance.

    3) You can get a (Blue) Mark from any of the mini dungeons in Module 2 if you luck into a (Purple) Casket reward from the standard dungeon chest. Between x3 characters, I've got seen x4 Caskets and 75% of those did drop (Blue) Marks. (The other Casket dropped a Lesser Mark.) I'm not sure how much each dungeon influences the type of Mark that drops, but 75% of my Casket drops have matched up with the associated dungeon. (The Mark of Union came from the dungeon that grants the bonus Greater Mark of Union drops. Etc etc.) The last Casket did come from a dungeon that I access through a purchased key, so I know that Casket drops are independent of the daily quest system.

THIS. I got a blue Mark of Union in a Purple Casket from Dread Spire reward last night. First time I've seen the casket, but I only have one character running Shadowmantle. Thinking I should get a couple of my alts up to speed.

Did 3 runs with different characters, haven't got the casket.

I've been running it everyday since 12/5, so yeah, I wouldn't expect to see it after 3 runs. I think I've completed 6 days of runs, but I don't know what the percentage chance for the casket is.

Cask of wonders give me a Mark of Potency. So they can give the other type and the Lesser versions too.

Are 'Casks of Wonders' the 6-day invocation reward?

Cask of Wonders: No longer has a chance to drop Minor Stones of Potency (White), now has a Chance to drop Stones of Potency (Blue). No longer drops Peridots or Aquamarines, now has a chance to drop the Lesser (Green) and normal (Blue) Stones of Power, Stability, and Union. (This is from the Preview patch notes. These are the Purple grade Casks that can be dropped from the reward chest at the end of the Module 2 mini dungeons.)

The Cache of Sharandar Treasures has become the 6 day reward. (This is from the Preview patch notes. These Cache are what you were thinking of, but they only give x30 Sparks and aren't associated with the new upgrade system.)

Thanks for the information. In fact, I received yesterday one Mark of Stability from the Death Forge (through the Cask of Wonders), so I can confirm this is possible. I think the normal marks are associated with the mini dungeon you get the Cask of Wonders from, so the Phantasmal Fortress should drop Marks of Union.

The only remaining issue is that the probability of getting the Cask of Wonders seems to be very low: I completed the Death Forge with 6 characters, but only one of them got it.

I still consider very odd that the purple marks are very common (you can get several in a single day) while the blue ones are extremally rare :-/

Could just be a typical mess-up but could be an anti-botting measure too.

So... sounds like us solo players and "new" 60s are pretty much SOL if the only ways to get things are EPIC 45 min+ dungeons and grinding for weeks and months if we only play several hours per week. Cryptic sure is making those gold sellers look mighty attractive.

On the one hand, I can see where you're coming from. But at the same time, the upgrade mechanic for Artifacts is based around only needing a few (Blue) Marks over the lifetime of the artifact. The whole point of getting Greater Marks is to tear them apart for upgrading points on your artifacts, which grant somewhere around 3.5k - 3.8k points. (I'm mentally blanking on the exact amount.) With this in mind, the Greater Marks have been made intentionally more common since they seem to be intended as cannon fodder for the upgrading process.

The way that the upgrade system is designed, Purple grade items give more points than Blue grade items. It's my guess that Cryptic didn't switch the rarity of the Blue and Purple Marks because they didn't want to have to change the point values of how their upgrading system works. I'm not sure if that's because it's truly a pain to code that way or if the devs simply got lazy. My assumption is that it's more of a consistency and difficulty issue, so I'm willing to give them a pass on that topic.
