Yay horrible pun.

Will the clipping issues with tiefling horns be fixed?
And will there be smaller, less eye-catching variants?
Or the ability to not have horns on a tiefling?

I can't answer anythign about clipping issues (I don't even have a Tiefling character, so I am not sure what the clipping issues are), but I would like to see more cutomization options.

Whatever those jagged edges are called around the jaw? Maybe see that get categorized as a Tiefling 'beard' and have them introduce some more styles.
Add more 'broken horn' options, even if it's just the same horn patterns they have now with one broken off, or even just make every horn style into three styles by having the normal, left horn brokn, and right horn broken options.
And, of course, entirely new horn styles.

But not just more options for Tieflings.

A couple of new hair styles, some new facial hair options (I can have stubble of a Goatee of Van ****, but not have an actual Goatee or Van ****?), maybe a new scar or two, tattoos... A lot of things that can be added to make all of our characters a little more unique in appearance.

. . . . . Unfortunately, because tieflings are now a core race in 4th edition, they all have horns and a tail. Tieflings are no longer a product of demonic bloodlines but are descended from humans who made an infernal pact with demonic forces. Because of this change and them becoming a core race, most of their greatly varying characteristics were removed and replaced with mandatory characteristics, like all tieflings now having horns and a tail.

. . . . . By clipping issues, I'm assuming you mean how the horns stick through head-gear? If so, I don't see how this is a clipping issue but more of what would actually happen one pulled a hat over their head and the head had horns.

There are no clipping "issues" with Tiefling horns.

Putting on a helmet doesn't remove your horns and obviously they are not like hair you can tuck under your helmet. Thus any headwear is fitted to allow your horns to protrude. How? Beats me but you wouldn't be able to wear any head gear without accommodating for the horns.

As for more horn variety, that's always a possibility however if you are coming from third edition rules take everything you think you know about Tieflings and throw it in the trash can. Tieflings were completely remade for fourth edition. The backstory, the lore, physical characteristics. They literally changed basically everything about the race.

"Less flashy" horns don't really exist in fourth edition because all Tieflings are considered to be part of Asmodeus' bloodline and thus the visual characteristics have become far more standardized throughout the race.
Tieflings’ appearance testifies to their infernal bloodline. They have large horns; thick, nonprehensile tails that range in length from 4 to 5 feet; sharply pointed teeth; and eyes that are solid orbs of black, red, white, silver, or gold. Their skin color covers the whole human range and also extends to reds, from a ruddy tan to a brick red. Their hair, cascading down from behind their horns, is as likely to be dark blue, red, or purple as more common human colors.

Tieflings favor dark colors and reds, leathers and glossy furs, small spikes and buckles. Tiefling-crafted arms and armor often have an archaic style, harkening back to the glory of their long-vanished empire.

I would rather like a different tail option. Something more fiendish and less dragon-like.

There are no clipping "issues" with Tiefling horns.

However, there are with the tails. Horses to not have special holographic bottoms for the convenience of Tieflings, contrary to appearances :)

And this is what I wanted to post.

Also, my tail acts weird when I'm sitting (/sit)

I have taken to calling this phenomenon "Helicopter Tail" since when on a mount or sitting down your tail spins in circles underneath you...like some sort of fleshy helicopter rotor xD

I would definitely like more customization for the Tieflings (and by extension ALL the races, but especially for Tieflings); more tail types, more horn types, more eye colors (cause some of the colors that the books say are available, are not in game).

I tend to use the explanation of "some magic items adjust their size to fit a new owner" that has been a staple at many gaming table over the years.

Edit: This is in response to the horns and tail popping through items.

At least the tail is no longer swinging on your screen when speaking to people while mounted. Gotta love that :3.

But it clipping through cloaks? Only mildly annoying to me.

The only way to remedy this issue would be to make variants for every type of horns Tieflings can have. The only other alternative would be to make the connection points for horns identical for all Tieflings, and then allow variations only on the upper part, (where it would already be clear of any obstructions).

It is unlikely that we will see race-specific versions of all gear - which is probably why they went with the "disable visual" option for headwear.

I play Teifling. I like the way the head horns protrude though they could use an increase in size and shape options. The only gripe I have about them is the way the chin horns clip through the headgear. It just looks ridiculous until we get our hands on a faceless helm.

I used to see my disembodied tail when mounted and selling to a vendor. Thought it was a snake at first! My gripe is mostly it just clipping through cloaks though.

It would be nice if they "baked in" a few variants of the helms for the different races - something like a full helm w/ the visor opened or so-forth.
