Set of Dice as Ranger Rewards

Once I reached the Graveyard and started doing quests I started getting a Set of Dice as the chest reward at the end of the quest.

Affected Quests that I have found;
The Missing Doomguides
A Doomguide's Duty - offered as a reward but only a Rank 2 Dark Enchant is received. (Though Volhak does give you the dice when you turn in the quest for the the xp.)
The Emissary of the Dead


Also the "Set of Dice Item" doesn't appear to actually do anything aside from make a message saying you rolled an X value and be consumed. If they have a mechanical purpose that could be explained more clearly.
Obsidian Moonlight - Paladin
Obsidian Oath - Warlock
A whole lot of other Obsidian toons as well.

    As a roleplayer, I rather there be a readily source of this. I've been looking for these items and was surprised it popped up for me on my Ranger in a chest.

    They also appear as recommended items on the auction broker.

    Though, Im sure these are just place holder items.

    The intended purpose of the "set of dice" item is that is one of the items that appears from the robe of useless items (which is one of the items you get from the Hero of the North and Guardian packs). The name of the robe should tell you a bit about it.

    Also it will always roll a 20.

    It dropping from other sources is most likely a placeholder.

    Dardove's 100% correct about the Set of Dice being used as a placeholder for Hunter Ranger rewards.

    Thanks for calling out the specific locations where you found them. I'll double-check to make sure we've properly set up the rewards for those locations.

    I've also gotten them 4 times from Dark Forest Equipment Arsenal chests obtained from Dark Forest Lockboxes.

    Definitely make sure appropriate ranger gear is added to all the lockbox equipment crates. I'm still sitting on a couple of Gloomwrought ones.

    I also found one on the final boss in Cragmire Crypt

    I got one from Malus Blackdagger at the end of the Storming the Keep Skirmish! Mind you, I think it's adorable, but still, I'd like some actual loot too. ;)
