I find it increasingly hard to find respectful pvp players now and days. If it's not cry nerf it's talk smack and definitely some classes are more babies than other classes in general. I find gf and gwf are respectful compared to the other classes may be different for other people but that's what I get. This isn't a thread about flaming people but something more serious of why the player base act like such children when it comes to pvp.
As an example I pvp against a swash tr earlier killed him then he called me a name because I guess he was upset he died. So basically that put a bullseye on his head which I only targeted him for the rest of the match. I guess people will just act like children when they don't get their way. I just wished the community as a whole would be better than this instead of crying nerf or talking trash maybe practice more or ask for a 1 v 1. Your only gonna get better playing better people. I'm also quite tired of trolling premides from elite pvp guilds. Had an group which I shall not name glitch river ruins and just blast people from the arch of the entrance to their node. So I would love to see more respect out of them as well because it only makes your guild look bad. I would love to see more respect out of the community because I fell more adults play this game than the younger crowd. So that leads me to my question.
Which class do you think act most respectful in pvp as a whole?
Gf , gwf, tr, cw, dc
Just off the top of my head, i guess both GF and GWF have to earn their place in PVE when their gear up, so they are more 'modest' in their attitute in PVP?

From what Ive experienced, TRs tend to be the most "mischievous" class. Whether malice is intended by their actions/words, I typically do not really pay much attention. If anyone gets too obnoxious they just end up on the ignore list.
But I forsee this thread being locked or crashing and burning.

I'm not trying to name who is the most trash talking class. Just trying to gives feedback on the community and just curious which classes are most respectful not the other way around. Just in my case I find gf's are really respectful players in pvp even when they aren't doing good. I was curious what everyone else thought.
I just find it silly that I have to continually ignore people when this shouldn't be happening in the first place.
GFs are the most PvP decent players I've met so far while mages, rogues and clerics(yes those are lol) are the most ignorant and toxic classes that tend to start saying <font color="orange">HAMSTER</font> about me/anyone else if they get killed a lot, so I just instantly put them on ignore after any sign of immaturity to stop spoiling my mood.
As for good GWFs, they are usually speechless and don't drop a single word during the matches I had
Oh well, besides one unkillable sentinel I had recently that was cried LEEEEEEEROOOOoy JEEEEEENKIIINS each time his Unstoppable activated lol
And the troll premades is probably the main reason I play domination probably. I love killing them 1 by 1 in permastealth and then listen to their "hurr ure ****ty permastealh rogue go fight like man huur durr" talks. Lol? Am I supposed to go suicide on them in 5vs1 while my team just left of standing at the spawn point? That's just fatally stupid.

As a GF and DC, I often message the person who killed me the most at the end of the match and congratulate them on a job well done. I find doing such gives insight as to what I did right or wrong. Further, you may end up fighting alongside said person in the future, so why <font color="orange">HAMSTER</font> people off?
I too will have to say that GF's are the most respectful. Not because I try to be, I get pissy too at times, but because GF's often compare notes with one another after a match and are the most helpful to one another overall.

I play a TR and I can be quite ruthless sometimes, talking smack, being "mean" talking **** to TRs that just spam impact shot like they are good for pressing one button.
But that's all in the pvp mindset for me, if people actually talk to me I try to be helpful , respectfull and give props when it's due. But if you didn't take the time to talk to me you would probably think I'm a <font color="orange">HAMSTER</font> an <font color="orange">HAMSTER</font> and a cheater.
actually, i don't expect much in the way of respect during a pvp match so i usually have zone and say channels muted. however, that doesn't actually mute what some people say on screen.
if it makes them feel better to trash talk, let them have their release.

I don't actually like the trash talk in PvP, BUT i know people who like it; someone said before in this post is just like a tease but sometimes it gets out of control.
IMHO Chats should be disable in pvp by default but since the majority think that it's "part of the fun" there is nothing that we can do about it.
My gf and I are actually playing a couple of TR named Hansel and Gretel and i've been call ganker, cheaters and other less pleasant stuff that involves a couple of my family members, but i take it like it is... <font color="orange">HAMSTER</font> from strangers.
I've seen both sides, but most of the time it's pretty quiet when I play. I've never had anyone say anything about my style of play (that I know of, I've had a teammate pout some random stuff once, no idea who he was actually referring to). Granted I'm no expert at PvP, still a casual "newb".

[true fact]
People on the preview shard are the most respectful. Always willing to play with anyone, always up for a discussion on the match and class performance afterwards.
[/true fact]
For the most pert I'd say that the most respectful players are the fighters and are often the most likely to allow 1v1s. TR's seem to be the most likely to be d-bags, but that's probably more a function of how many people play TR, bound to get a few bad eggs making the rest of their class look like *bad words*.
For some odd reason destroyer spec GWF's also tend to be a bit mouthy...one in particular I'm thinking of is well known amongst my friends list for trash talking, both to his own team and the opposition team and is a spectacularly sore loser, one of the usual "everyone is bad except me" types.
For my part, I will never initiate a trash talk in PvP. I would prefer to let the fighting do the talking.
I think theres a definite difference between "Trash Talk" and some competitive banter between teams.
Trash talking is obvious. The guy who dies who throws out the random excuses in zone chat, calls you names like;hacker, cheater, p2w, your only good cuz your gear blah blah blah. THat <font color="orange">HAMSTER</font> is disgustingly common in what seems like every other match. It shouldn't bother anyway imo, let'em talk. Its just a game, and in my experience its usually the players who are bad anyway, so I definitely could give a <font color="orange">HAMSTER</font> what they say or think in the first place.
Far as some banter between competitive people I do it quite often. We do in house premades quite often, generally were all in the same team speak and talk a little bit of smack back and fourth. But it never gets out of hand, if anything it makes one another play better.
I personally give respect where respect is earned. I'll be the first guy to send someone a tell after killing me and say GJ if its warranted, or congratulate a team for beating us, or congratulate a team for losing honorable and putting up a fight. Hell, even staying as of lately I give a lot of respect to people.
I don't know if a large majority of players are taking a break till the new mod comes out, or spending most of their time on Test. But yesterday I had 31 matches in a row, where almost the entire team quit. Most of those quits were in the first 3 minutes. Whats sad is only a 1/3 of those matches I was in a premade, the rest I was solo Q'ing.
You asked who are the most respectable players?
I say the ones who don't quit matches.......

Oh... you know what I love? Solo queuing into PvP, facing a premade or just a full guild group and having two of my team immediately quit. Then going 5 vs 3 until the premade full team of 5 ends up camping the spawn point to prove how good they are against 3 people. Those are my favorite matches. Respect indeed.
I enjoy it when my opponent talks smack, it spices up the match and adds some motivation, it only bothers me when people on my own team start to sit afk doing it when we are losing, because if we are losing you need to be trying harder and not wasting your time typing in zone chat. I will go off on some fools on my own team who are sitting in the spawn calling the other team cheaters because they don't know how to play. I talk alot of <font color="orange">HAMSTER</font> in the /say channel after I'm dead and before I respawn, if it pisses people off then good, they will be focused on killing me and not on dominating. I just consider it part of the competition, a way to throw your opponent off psychologically and gain an advantage. If it bothers people there is an ignore function.
i respect all the class don't jump for avoid the atk whitout dodge, all the class that don't think's to be a god simply because they have a Tr ( simply 1 button skill when you are full equipped ). I respect all the people that stay on pvp when the nabs left after first it, i respect all the player figth even if they say you get oneshotted. I don't respect guys on pvp when they say " come 1v1 " when they are uber equipped whit uber stone and say " rolf, nabs". I hope, 1 day, they will fix all this
Just becouse is the class with the smallest population among the other 4 and puts the best overall PvP performance.
No doubt the worst respected class is TR and partialy CW.
Too much low-skilled-qq-trolls roll those classes but people dont seem to realise that to be OP takes abit of skill not just a shiny vorpal or a semi-permastealth

I say the ones who don't quit matches.......
there is a distinction between trash talkers and falling off the deep end. A little competition never bothered me i enjoy it. But way to many people fall off the deep end rage quit/ cry nerf. Quitting is a problem but then again if your facing a full premade that is geared i don't blame the under-geared for quitting. I don't see why if premades wants a challenge maybe have one guy sit at the campfire and do 4 v 5 and have them tag in when one of your team dies. PVP rewards aren't anything special so i don't see why more premades don't do this for a challenge. Zerging a group of pugs for all say 2 minutes is fun but then you sit there the rest of the match and just makes new players dislike pvp.
I will say there are some guilds that are great they let players have their node once they know they won the match for points, honor all 1 v 1's, and etc. There are also some players that do this as well even in pug groups. I just think a little more courtesy in pvp would help the community especially out of the elite/ geared group compared to newcomers.
I figured this would be the appropriate thread to post this since its concerning players with honor and whatnot, Norris is awesome.this guy is on the opposing team for a match and they are getting slaughtered by us so what does he do?he doesn't whine or cry about it he shouts out to the zone that he is going to take our home base and then once he gets there and two of our guys head over to challenge him he screams "COME AT ME BRAHS!" lol.
no whining no crying no name calling just straight up come get some bad assery. Norros, I salute you sir.
Personally, I've noticed that TR's are on my 'most quickly ignored' list. Not all TR's are bad, but I get this sincere feeling that almost all cruel players are TR's.
But then again, it's what you consider 'cruel' or 'disrespectful'. I know this sounds insane, as most seem to feel that respect is a common definition to everyone. But I've personally found that people look at what is 'respectful' differently.
Some feel that respect between competitors is a handshake and a good game. Jumping up, celebrating, spiking a ball or hoisting up your pitcher is often seen as being disrespectful to the team you just beat. You're supposed to win, smile, shake hands, and walk off the field. They see anything else as 'rubbing it in'.
Some feel respect is primarily focused on insults, or the lack of them. Throwing a good game, giving your buddy a congrats, and talking about what an amazing job your TR did are all well within the range of respectful behavior.
I'm not one to take insults seriously. In fact, it's a part of a competitive atmosphere that I personally prefer to play in. In my hobby, powerlifting, it's not uncommon for me to call a buddy a sissy and then slap him on the back for a great lift all within a few seconds of each other. But by my viewpoint, I reserve this kind of behavior for people I've associated with before. I'm not upset if they don't like it and decide not to play with me, nor am I bothered if they swing back. I am bluntly who I am, but I'm not cruel and take no steps to hurt others feelings. My jibe's are meant as jokes, always.
Disrespect, in my mind, generally comes first from the losing team. It's like giving a good game and congratulating their DC for doing an awesome job, and having them tell you to **** off and leave. Or sending hate mail and calling you a cheater because you know how to maximize your encounter rotation (and practiced doing so repeatedly) to keep yourself alive.
I've found more disrespect from losing players, than winning players. And it's not hard to understand why. When a player invests a vast amount of care and ego into a game like this, it is very easy to feel personally slighted or cheated.
Meanwhile, as a winner, all you have to do is keep it at 'good game', and you appear respectful as all hell.

Us DCs are the most respectful because, well, most of us are lucky to get a handful of kills so we are never in a position to talk smack. Unless of course you can get away with ''LOL! U NABS! I ONLY DYED 2WICE! AND GET 35 ASSTS!''

I can without a moments hesitation say that there are an abundance of GWF's that would fit the bill of not being classy or respectful. They're usually the ones in zone chat yelling "3v1!?! You can't kill me!"
You're going to see a higher percentage of dbags playing high damage classes and classes that are nigh unkillable. It strokes their egos.

Would you be mad at a DC who heals really well, or built a great tank-DC? What about a CW who is constantly choking everyone and has great teleports?
I built my second GWF to tank, and while I don't go shouting in zone chat about how awesome I am, I am very proud of how I've designed my character, the powers and equipment I chose, etc.
It is only just a game, but I don't generally play to lose, either.
