They said and showed very specifically that the new companion was PURPLE in the TWITCH stream last night as well I'm fairly certain in one of the earlier "PR" releases WTH?!

This is some BS, really hoping this is a mistake and will be fixed

It was also 1800 tokens I think....at the rate of turn in...not sure how you would accomplish that? I might be missing something but the turn in is too slow...I wish they could have made the drops harder to get and the pay out higher....like each illusionist would give 3-5 tokens instead of 1...but you would get less liar's bags?

The green one is now 600 tokens, which should take less than 10 hours of constant farming based on my casual testing.

So they promised you something very valuable and you didnt get it. Did you pay anything? Experienced any losses?

Not really free when any decent pet or mount or anything else they release requires you to buy Zen..Or sure you can farm the AD to upgrade the GREEN pet or mount you get but how about give us a item that is actually worth working towards?? Just saying

I've found that chasing down 600 mobile NPCs, in order, for another green companion just isn't worth it.

Agreed, not sure the permanent masks are worth the effort either.

Sadly, this. I farmed for 2 hours only to get less than 100 tokens... i give up! The pig companion thingy during the summer festival (also green) required far less effort (a daily 5 minute login for 10 days)...

I hope they cut it to max 200-250, or make it at least blue...

masks need to be transmutable too.

I don't feel the need to get these masks unless i can use them with my nicely modified/dyed gear.

Would cryptic consider merging fashion slots to the active set? (toggle on and off)?

I'm so sick and tired of this inane BS response. This is NOT A free game to ME! I've paid over $3000 so far playing this game more then any other game I've played so you can take your FTP comment and use it for the toilet paper it is

Edit - this was supposed to include the Quoted fanboi response above not sure why it didn't work - anyway the next guy that says "consider yourself lucky it's all FREE" I'd love to meet to discuss in person after they review my Credit Card statements. I'd really like to know the % of people that actually play this game that haven't spent a dime as 100% of the people I know have spent at least $60 and many are many times that!

I understand they can change things at their own descretion, but this change is just so sudden. Literally 18 hours before the event went live they showed a preview of the Shop in the twitchTV Adventure Hour and it was Purple, costing 1800 tokens and it was a big selling point of the twitch event. "Purple Companion!! Whoo!!" And it goes live and it's green. Really deflated my excitement/want to participate in the event.

What kind of companion is this? Is it another striker companion, or is it a defender? Does anyone have a screenshot of it? Thanks in advance.

$3,000! I'm sorry, man. Purely F2P here. Currently rock BiS gear, P. Vorpal, Greater Soulforge and Rank 8's. I may not get to Rank 9's or 10's, but I'm not too concerned.

It is a Striker, with 3 offensive rune slots. Abilities are Bludgeon(weapon), Bonemeal(shield strike), and Tenderizer(a small debuff that stacks until the next Bonemeal hit). Item slots are Neck, Ring, and Waist-90% sure of those.

And am I correct in assuming that there's no additional threat generation tied to any of those attacks? Thanks again!

Not able to say, the description does not mention it. However the abilities do get a boost when fighting against undead according to the description.

The skeleton is bound to the character or it can be sold at auction?

    It is bound on equip.

    Corrections to my early statements:
    3 Rune slots- 1 Offensive, 2 Defensive
Items are Neck, Waist, and Icon
Bludgeon stacks Tenderizer until next Bonemeal strike. Tenderizer is a 10% bonus to damage for Bonemeal.
Bonemeal does bonus damage to undead.

    Hey everybody!

Thanks for pointing this out. Your assessment is totally correct – it was Purple quality at the time we were showing it off on the Livestream, though this was a very early version and throughout our design process, it ended up evolving into a Green companion. One of the primary challenges of showing off in-progress content during the development phases is that everything we show off is subject to change, but hopefully the fun and excitement of seeing an early preview makes it worth the occasional need to provide this type of clarification.

I'm curious as to why this companion "evolved" in such a way, given that every other event-currency barter pet has already been green.

It seems you're just justifying a blatant bait-and-switch, but I'm hearing you out.

I’d like to put this another way so maybe it makes a little more sense to those confused as to why some of the community is upset over the “bait and switch”

Last night we had over 55 THOUSAND people watching the Neverwinter Live stream and they showed and discussed the PURPLE Skeleton companion and we had much joy from many of those thousands of people watching and commenting.
Then a few hours later we log in after the patch and it’s GREEN.

This is akin to having a local “business” say come in tomorrow we’ll be drawing for a FREE Ferrari worth $200k and then when everyone shows up the next day it’s a Toyota Camry instead! (But that doesn’t matter though does it? I mean it’s still a free draw right?! – if you think that way you and I are very different people that is all I have to say on the subject)

I do appreciate that PW commented on this - I would have been nice to have that disclaimer somewhere during the feed in future though - I posted on several websites about this last night drumming up excitement and I look like a fool this morning as no one else saw the Twitch feed but everyone is seeing the Green companion.

    Cheers
    Calvin

I must be mistaken..I thought it was a live feed. If so how is this very early in the development process?
