    amd radeon 7950 3gb
    but problem is not with hardware its with the autopatcher
    as i did find out before hit cancel at laucher fast will bring up the patch button and after you use that the game will start.

    me too here and i play normal some time ago and now crach...AND I LOSE THE DD OMG...

    Same as others, have verified the files a few times but always crashes right after hitting Play

    Windows 8.1
    i7-3630
    GTX580

    Sometimes you have to cancel Patcher 3 times in a row for it to work Cancel-Patch-Cancel-Patch-Cancel

    Hrm seemed weird in that the game kept crashing with no messages but then tried the cancel/patch thing mentioned above and then stuff went weird.

    So I hit cancel and the patch button appeared. I hit patch and then canceled again so the patch button reappeared. Pressing patch again it starts downloading the first mirror file again and then throws up the error message 'unable to connect to account server'. Press Play and the game starts - GO figure :O

    Yup, same issue here. Log in, click "play", and crash. Can't send report since it also seems to crash and vanish. Not happy :(

    ETA: Cancel, then patch worked! Yay!

    Back in game, thx all. When launcher starts, hit cancel button. Wait a sec, then patch button appears, click it and game starts, without even loading a patch.

    This worked for me. Although it never did a "patch", just waited a moment and boom, went to play.

    For me it usually crashes at the cryptic screen but sometimes I dont even make it that far, I am currently running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, I7-3820 QM and GeForce GTX 675M

    Glad to see I'm not the only one. At least we know it is a server issue. Hopefully someone is on it already.

    Great answer, this worked for me, make sure you click cancel right away when it says patching still, otherwise the game will start right as you click cancel and it will still crash. If you do it right you will get the patch button to come up after you hit cancel and after patching click play and the game will load! cheers to maxmonc for figuring this out!!!!

    I got in after hitting cancel on the patch button. It goes by fast so u have to be quick

    I hope we do not have to do this all the time from now on.

    same issue here.. game kept crashing on the crytic loading screen. Did the "hit cancel, hit patching, hit play" and went in.

    The workaround stated above works. This needs to be look at. Asking for our rigs information is mute since a lot of people are suffering from this and the workaround shows that it's a problem with the server communications.
