Pantaloons: (SS Included)

edited October 2013 in General Discussion (PC)
I spent a bit of time farming for the event pants, so far, I've gotten two sets. Both are on my drow female. I will at some point tonight post the second undyed set into this thread. For now, here's four SS of the pantaloons, one set male, three different dye sets for the female - and an explanation on why I didn't go with the final black dye set I had initially been planning.

Clicking on each image will of course make them a bit bigger

Posted a shot of the male pants, and the female pants.

Male pants here are undyed

Female pants were dyed with helmite dyes.

*Added* Winter Wolf Dye pack (someone mentioned wanting to see it in game)
    Attachment not found.

    Lliira's Night dye pack
    Attachment not found.

    Random Purple dye
    Attachment not found.

I was going to attempt dying them black but honestly it just turns them a silverish color and I decided not to waste the dye packs I have for it. Black dye was essentially a 'darker' silver than the helmite dyes were. I decided against pursuing finding my other dyes but chose to at least share these.

This however, is the best preview of the pants for females I could give - the male ones I have shown at the top post are from a random victim err... subject I found wearing them. Many thanks to my anon model there.

Edit: I found the courtesan top dyed with the gold dye pack from the event and the pants dyed with the same to tone down the dark gold actually looks ok, unfortunately at this time there isn't a set of courtesan garb I can 'waste' the dyes on for this little project given that I don't want to overwrite my own black dyes with the courtesan top. However, it looked like (in the dye preview window) it may actually be an ok set of cosmetic armor.....

Added the CW dye to a pair of the pantaloons.

    Attachment not found.

Edit: In preview mode I think the black almost looked like the CW dye if you stand in shadows. I wasn't too thrilled by it.

Thanks, Mana! I won't bother with the pants nor the cloak. They both look ugly.

The pants really look bad. If you want to star in a travesty show this might be the right choice though.

Whenever I get more boxes I'll be opening them on my cleric - totally going to make her a fashion travesty (and more importantly, see how the waukeen pants dyed with the gold dye pack looks like with other shirts on a light skinned elf). I might even get another courtesan top for this experiment. But yes, even doing my best I just can't make those look less... shiney and more useful for regular RP for my taste. I really, really tried.

They go quite well with the shiny fabric of the jester's tunic and hat.

I don't have a screenshot, but the pantaloons look passable (although still pretty shiny) with the Ethereal Twilight dyepack. They're basically the female noble finery leggings without the skirt and with a shinier fabric.

Lol these would have been good 'leather' pants if black had worked for them. I find it interesting that they don't dye a true black. Perhapse they want save that look for later for more profits?

It's possible that the pants actually use 'metal' as their material... if you look at how a GFs armor appears when dyed black, it doesn't look like a dark, jet-black either.

And that was the whole reason I wanted the pants, for a black leather look. Oh well, saved me some anguish.

They look like wrestler pants and boots. They might look good with a mask and no top.

Nice, and thank you for the SS. I was thinking about dying the pants with the event gold dye, and using the court top. I -think- it will have a similar effect (though the court armor isnt as shiney) someone mentioned they were doing the Sune top with Pantaloons.

The Sune top is matte/cloth. Unless very light colors, (like white or silver) lessen the difference between the matte nd shiny materials, it would look off...

I do point out that these are arguably the only pants in the game that will look good with a Lliira mask. ;)

    Truth Abell

@Bioshrike, I'm not sure how they look together with the sune shirt and these pants. I asked for a SS and never got one from them to post here. Once my cleric gets her pants (if I get lucky) I'll post it up as one of the dye jobs.

I was disappointed that the female version of the pantaloons are not really ... pantaloons. They're just shiny and tight satin disco pants. I was hoping for humorous pantaloons, but apparently that's reserved for the male character, because heaven forbid the females have baggy, non-butt enhancing pants.

That said, at least they're another pants-only option (vs pants with the skirt drop thingie), of which there are not very many.

    NWO-0148.jpg

Edit: btw, dyeing them with the event gold dye does make them a bit less shiny, but also a different yellow. Don't have a pic of that tho.

Yea, the 3 limit is why my first 3 are laid out the way they are. All of those I did an upload so that you need to click on the image to pull up the bigger image of them.

The feyweild top(?) with the pants looks alright too - not sure if dying the pants would help or hurt that.

Now all we need is the rest of the outfit and a street corner to sell our "wares" on and we will finally have the oldest profession in the world in Neverwinter. Lets turn the Moonstone Tavern into a cathouse.

I would definitely like to see them with the courtesan top, since it does have that shiny metallic detail. It might be a good match.

I did some playing around after posting my first image and discovered they also work well with the Lion Mask. (Which is something I've had in my bank for ages but I've never found an appropriate outfit to pair it with.) Pants and mask died with helmite dye, and the jester's tunic dyed with winterwolf: Larger Image

Sorry I keep using just the Change Appearance box instead of a nice shot somewhere...I don't want to actually dye over stuff etc. :)

No Courtesan for my male, but I do have the founder pack Gilded Moonstone Regalia which has some shiny bits too.

Oh wow, thanks for the images. Both of those look very nice, and actually make the pants somewhat desirable. It's nice to see they can be paired with more than just the jesters tunic and still look decent. :D

Yes it is. I think dying the pants with the Blessed Gold Dye will tone them down enough to really go with the other pieces. It's still really bright and flashy (not necessarily something I'd use for RP) but it's not the 'shove it into the bank and forget about it) piece of armor I thought it was at first.
