Beginner PvP Rewards Question

Hey, folks. I'm just starting to get into the PvP aspect of the game (and enjoying it so far). I've run maybe a dozen matches or so and handful of times I've received equipment at the end of the match in addition to glory and experience. I understand that the glory and experience amounts vary based on team/individual performance, but what determines if/when you get equipment?

On a related note, I play as a GF, but every piece of equipment received thus far, while level appropriate, has been either for a TR or GWF. I'm assuming that's just the luck of the RNG draw, correct?

    If you receive gear after a pvp match it is due to being at the top of the scoreboard, top receives a blue item and second highest score receives a green. Unfortunately yes, the gear is determined by RNG, every once in awhile you'll receive something useful. (If your leveling that is.)

    I am not sure if it's still the case, but the TR "Nefarious" items in the 30-50 level range could be auctioned for nice money.

    Thanks for the responses. I don't recall finishing first or second on the leaderboard at anytime. But then I don't pay much attention to it. I just want my team to win. If that means just running around a point while four opponents whale on me so my team can cap the other points...so be it. :)

    Yeah, I also recall sometimes seeing strange gear in my inventory after finishing a PVP match. (And no, it's not because I finish at the top of the leaderboard.) It tends to be mainly worthless junk, and sometimes it is not even for my class. So I don't quite understand that.

    lol I never realized I got gear, I must have though as Ive been at the top before on various characters.

    Well, I just got another data point for our question.

    I just finished a match and received a CW Dominator's Boots of Protection (again, of no use to me as a GF beyond gold/low AD value on the AH). Here's what I can tell you:

    1) My team won the match 1000-8** (forget the exact number).

    2) I finished fifth on the leader board...6 kills, 5 deaths and 33 assists. These numbers I'm sure of because I saw the item drop right at the end of the match and made a point of noting my place/stats. So, apparently, finishing first or second is not a requirement. Maybe it's finishing top half of the table when your team wins?

    3) I was completing my daily at the time, but it was not the last match for completion. Not sure if this plays into it, though, as I know I've collected more items than dailies finished in this brief span of time.

    Hmmm.....

    None of those stats matter, only the number under the "Score" column matters for rewards. If you are top, you get a blue, if you are second you get a green.

    The blue rewards used to be worth something, especially the belts, but these days I just throw them all away. You'd need to get one of the special stat (e.g. 243 stat) blue belts to make decent AD and they are very rare.

    Understood, fondelz, and I appreciate the response. But the stats were just info fodder. The main point is that I finished fifth in the score column, not first or second. But I still got a green piece of equipment.
