Not sure if I am in the right area to post or not but I am having an odd problem on the neverwinter gateway. Twice now I've watched an auction count down to times up with myself as the high bidder, only to lose the item to another player who apparently outbid me a few minutes ago (but the screen never updated). Is there a solution for this?

this is not a new situation. the gateway and the auction house seem to always have weird ability to bid after auction is over when they fix it in game it happens in gateway and vice versa, It has to do with which is lagged more I believe. basically the auction wasn't actually over in game because the guy's bid was lagged. so while to you it seemed he bid on the item 2-3 minutes after the auction was ended he probably bid a split second or 2 after you maybe with 1-2 seconds left. The game just didn't tell YOU that for 3 minutes so you couldn't counter it.
Its unfair but you may have done it to other people without knowing it countless times as well. Hopefully they fix this bug at some point. for a while they were cutting off auction bids at a minute to go but people complained.

Gateway timer is out by about 90 seconds, so the auction you're watching is actually not closed when the timer reaches zero.
You'll see the same delay on professions, where they appear to have finished for a while before you can collect rewards, or rare tasks reach the end of their countdown to switch over but then don't.

It's a disappointment to put in the effort to watch an item only to have it taken (especially when you would have bid more on it if you had the chance).
I'm surprised they don't have a bid extender in place so that if an item is bid on in the last 10 minutes of the auction it extends the auction time by a few minutes. This would keep people from sneaking in a bid in the last 2-3 seconds during a bidding war, it would also allow people to continue to bid the item up until someone gives up... I.e. bring the item up to the actual item value. When you go to a real auction they continue auctioning the item until no one else wants to outbid the current bidder.

Assuming the gateway auction house is the same as the crafting tab, then the time displayed is relative to local time - but the crafting / auctions end at server's time, so there might be a discrepancy between the time displayed and the real time.
