When on the Gods' green earth is a new class coming?

I've been waiting for ages. Started playing just after it went into open beta. Saw all the promises of "It'll be coming within the next couple months" and still nothing.

When the heck is a new class coming? IF I start playing again, that'll be why.

I fear that the new class will end the GWF permanently. I have been playing my GF alot in MC and I actively look for GWF for that dungeon but all I end up getting is a third CW because I can't find any GWF and CW's are so easy to find now a days.

A new class will be nice, I just hope it doesn't hurt the GF anymore than it is already suffering.

All the interview says is "The biggest addition will be one of the two new classes that are in development..."
That's it. We've KNOWN that since may/june. We've KNOWN it was in development. They keeps saying "A month or two".
And now they won't give us any sort of timeline.

"Before the end of the year" is as specific as we've gotten. Being as we're at the end of September, that only leaves 3 months (max)...

Nobody that knows is going to answer your question in the forum.

You'll know it when they announce it, just like all of us.

How long has Module 1 run? And they added new content over time as well. Please, show me where it says that the new class will be included with the LAUNCH of Module 2.

Saying the "biggest addition" means that it is the priority addition to the module. OR atleast that's what my common sense is telling me.

Yet it doesn't say that anywhere. At all. The "biggest addition" could be put out halfway through the module. Your "common sense" is you reading into something that isn't there. So stop being so asinine about it.

You could simply say "The module will launch before year's end, and a new class is a big thing for it. So I'd guess before year's end."
That's polite, factual, and most of all accurate. You're GUESSING. Stop acting as if it's a known fact.

Ok, so they will release the new module only with the foundries ( the minority of community) new boss mechanics and companion. Yeah, that makes more sense to release a module without the biggest addition to it. Will get them more players that way.

I have tried my best to get some answers for you but your skull is too thick. So i'm gonna leave you now arguing non sense and fighting your demons. Cheers!

If that polite, factual, and accurate statement was enough for you, you wouldn't have made this thread.

You were looking for more than that. At this time the only thing more than that is speculation. Forum posters are giving you the only more than that they can, which again is speculation.

Don't make a thread that can only be answered with speculation if you don't want to read speculation.

I'm assuming you want an exact date/time for it, correct? If so, I don't know any ftp mmo that will do that with confidence unless it is within a week or so before and they know for 100% sure it will be ready by then. If they miss any date that they prepare, all hell breaks loose. I'm not trying to defend Cryptic or anything, but that is my personal opinion on major updates. If they do declare a date and rush to meet it, then it just produces more bugs that it would have if they took more time to test it out (if that is possible for Cryptic...).

Edit: If they haven't said anything more specific than "by the end of year" by now, they won't say anything else until its closer to "the end of the year". If forum mods do have inside info on when it will be out, they won't leak it, so I don't see the point in asking the forums other than to bring it up to the general public.

I don't mind speculation. I never said that the example answer I gave would satisfy me. I was just hoping for SOMETHING more solid than assumptions.
And the only thing I have against the previous poster is him being an *** hole from the start.

At this point in time that information is as solid as we have, which of course is deliberately vague on the part of the developers. Nothing more solid has been released that I know of, other than the heavy hinting of the developers that it will be a ranged class. I expect more information to be released a month or couple of weeks from the module, to kick off their marketing of the for purchase pack that will no doubt come along with it.

I'm speculating the next module will be released around but before Christmas, and that the new class will come out on or about the same time. I'm also speculating that there will be another for purchase pack released at the same time as module 2, containing a new optional mount, pet, and items that would go along well with the new class... in order to potentially cash in on holiday gift giving.

Thank you. For both the information, and the acknowledgement that it's guesswork, even sound guesswork.
Thank you for being polite about it and forming a nice, non insulting post.

Is there anything further known about the possible class to be released? I understand it is unlikely, but you have likely been more active than I over the last couple months.

edit: I also saw in the interview that there is still nothing solid. I meant was there anything further datamined or alluded to lately?

The class is confirmed to be a ranged one. Most of the speculation is that it will be a Ranger or a Warlock, with most of the view that it will be the former. Items for both of these classes have been discovered to exist within the game, in early beta days, and I believe it has been said to be found in datamining as well. As such, it will almost certainly be one of the two, and the way the word ranged has been emphasized by some of the developers in interviews suggests to me it will be the Ranger.

I'm hoping for the Warlock, but Ranger does indeed make more sense from what I've seen in interviews. Ranger probably seems the best market wise, to cash in on all the people wanting to make Drow Rangers. On top of all the traffic of people wanting to try the new class.
Have they said at all what Module 2 will be themed as? Like how Module 1 was mostly centered on the Feywild.

I too would prefer the Warlock, but it is probably better for them to go with Ranger, as there are already two ranged magical characters. From what I have heard of 4th Ed. Rangers, they don't have much in the way of magic anymore, so it should provide an option for those wanting a character with ranged physical attacks.

I haven't seen anything about the theme of the next pack at all. My wild guess it that it may contain some environments that are more open than the ones we have now, that allow for some exploration, as that would fit Rangers well. Heh, as I said though, that's just my wild guess, which has nothing concrete to support it.

Don't think it is a warlock,

The new CW paragon paths looks like a Warlock's ones already :

That is pretty interesting information, though it was an early leak, with not yet finalized abilities, I believe.

I still think a Warlock will be coming at some time, as I believe the 4th Ed. ones specialized in debuffing as well.

You should have taken the time to read the Developer Interview instead of writing this Topic.

I'll try to quote: "We are working hard to get Module 2 and one of the new Classes out by the end of the year".

The lastest interview stated obviously " end of the year". May and june are the middle of the year. Seriously, did you ever go to school?

Anyways, here is a link to the interview http://massively.joystiq.com/2013/09/25/neverwinters-velasquez-on-lockboxes-foundry-and-module-2

It's very vague telling someone to go read something that's vague and doesn't answer their question and calling them names because they didn't go read the dev response that doesn't answer their question doesn't make them the idiot.

It's not been detailed at all, we keep hearing the nonsense from the devs have been since before open beta, and this question post is more about what the heck is taking the devs so long with something so simple and something they said they were working on before launch so yeah his question is extremely valid at this point!

No, they haven't. The best we have is this line:
TheSquez: we'll be going somewhere new that you will likely recognize in Module 2 as well

    From here

Also from that Q&A they said the press release on the next class will be coming out in a few weeks.

Well, Cryptic did promote that they were doing said Q&A. And there people in the IRC channel to see it happen, including myself. I highly doubt it was fake.
