Achievement improvements I would like to see.

I am an achievement hunter and would love to see the achievement system get improved. For the most part it is very barebones. The best use of the achievement system is the foundry ones, mainly because it has long term goals with rewards besides titles (not that there is anything wrong with titles). Other achievement types should follow that lead with achievements that take longer to get along with rewards like unique companions, mounts, and fashion gear.

Profession could use achievements besides for just leveling them up. Some examples, achievements for making multiple purples and blue, making x number of AD with leadership, getting rank 3 results multiple times, getting a certain amount of crafting mats from the gathering tasking, and using certain types of skill nodes a number of times. Maybe another version of the multi-tasker achievement for capping out 6, 7, or 8 professions.

Could also use more exploration type achievements. A good example of how expand on these type of achievements is the perks from Champions Online. Look at the exploration perks and collection perks that were done. There are various perks there for finding various interesting spots in zones and just doing various odd things.

Dungeons/Skirmishes could use challenge achievements for completing boss fights under certain conditions. Basic ones like beating a boss without dying. Along with specific ones for bosses. A few examples I can think of is beating the gnarlroot boss without getting hit with any of the environmental effects or preventing the fardelver boss from remounting his spider.

Some other ideas I have for achievements include achievements for gold acquired going up to 1000g maybe and for dying a certain number of times over the course of the life of the character. Maybe an achievement for activating mimics a certain number of times. A series of achievements for triggering certain effects with unstable potion with a reward as a recipe for a stable potion with those effects.

Thoughts?

I love some of those ideas.

I really like the exploration achievements. Hunting scrying stones is part of what makes the game fun for me. I'd love to see more things tied to finding objects in the maps. Dungeon exploration achievements, to give more reasons to stop rocketing from boss to boos, diverge from the sparkle trail and take a good look around.

Tied to this, sometimes my exploration efforts lead to plummeting to a humiliating death. So... x-times death from falling achievement? (If it's even possible to distinguish that from any other cause of death, which it might not be.)

Since you mentioned scrying stones, I have to say this.

Cryptic, in the future, please do not hide the scrying stones like you did with Feywild. They are far too easy to find. Most of the other zones are hidden in good spots, but Feywild was a real let down.

And yes, more achievements from dungeon exploration. Maybe more achievements for the optional bosses in dungeons (even though there are only a few) and more hidden bosses in general (including adding some more the zones).

+1! I too would really like to see more rewards for achievements. Titles are nice but it would be good to give "achievement points" some actual worth, and/or see more rewards similar to the Foundry ones.

Optional bosses should totally have some value in engaging! As should some of those "hidden" quests you only find by raw exploration (like the Predator spider in Pirate's Skyhold-- just xp really doesn't mean much when leveling's so easy...).

Further, I feel some of the maps on an exploratory level, are highly under appreciated. That pool in Helm's Hold referenced by the scrying stone there, I fought some wolves and gone into the area only to find two profession nodes. It would be a GREAT place for a "special" mob to hang out. There's another spot near there that looks like a small temple that has a cluster of mobs that led me to believe something important was there... but no.

Sounds like fun...goodness knows I have a <bleep>ton of perks and such on my main in Champions Online. Heck, working on some of the stupidly hard ones, just to be able to brag and show off cute titles and stuff.

Voodoo Child, that pain in the <bleep> scavenger hunt in Vibora Bay is a "good" one, another is the Chapter and Verse (when it works) in Therakial's Temple, since it's all hunt and find and not always there.

Unique titles, action figures (Zombie Apocalypse, 10,000 Hero Defeats gets the AF Skeleton Boy), etc...make some of those really really hard ones 'worth the bother' in fun and bragging rights.

Something like that in Neverwinter would rock.

All good examples of types of perks CO that would make great additions to NW.

Just to be clear, I'm 99% sure Sevdai is asking for a new achievement for knocking over fences.

Not the achievement thread I thought Sevda was talking about, but! Found it none the less. Probably should change my twitch name to this name to avoid confusion XD. Oh well.

#Fencegating , Because some times it's more fun to sit around and wait for the stream to start than just jumping in at the launch ;3.

Well, the other thread is being taken care of. Assuming you are talking about the bug one.

Ayup. I didn't even know this one existed despite a friend posting in it. Whoops!
