cav's Advice to slightly better yourself in PvP

First off, this advice you may or may not have already done/are doing. Nonetheless, ever since I started doing this. I've found pvp to be a lot easier.

First off, make one of every class. You don't have to level them all to 60, but this is so you can have a better understanding of how each class works.

Secondly. Counting, I cannot stress enough how much this has improved my skill once I started doing it.

I count dodges, CDs (I have memorized the common CD for all meta skills for all classes), stamina regen, health regen so that I can determine how much regen they have so I can then figure out how much burst will be required to kill them. Determination gain, Divinity gain, Stealth and how long they have been in it to know how much more time they have, guard meter and how big it is/how long it lasts and how much damage I will have to do to drop it.. I can also recognize all lvl 60 (meta) gear for all classes.
(This doesn't help when people transmute or wear fashion items.)

Now I don't suggest trying to do all these things at once.

Just ease into them, make counting a part of every battle, regardless of pugging or not.
Basically treat every battle like a GvG.

I also understand that PvP is for fun blah, blah, blah. But you can't complain about OP classes if you aren't willing to better yourself first.

This will make you better at PvE group play as well, incidentally. Or should.

I just run in and start mashing buttons and rolling my face across the keyboard.

The more people, the harder I mash!

I'm just a dumb GWF with an INT of 10 and your strategy requires me to think too much.

just run around looking for battles where the enemy is getting low hit points and do your high damage encounter to get the kill.

^Great advice you added and I agree with all of it. I honestly wish more people would better themselves before running to the nerf bat.

^Please do not use stereotypes even if you are joking. I mainly play as a rogue doing heavy damage and get more Assists than Kills usually because my team members get the last hit in on the opponent. The kill/assist award should be based on the amount of damage done and not on which player gets the last hit on the opponent. Either way it really does not matter because the opponent is dead and my team has defended the point.
Every class has advantages and disadvantages. Learn the disadvantages of you class to overcome them. Learn the advantages of your class and the disadvatages of other classes to use them in pvp to win.

There is no point to whine for nerfs because you win some and loose some. Crying just makes a player look like a crier and no one, especially the devs, should take them seriously. Have a nice day!:)

My last quote was all in good fun. I run a rogue too, as you can see. What you can't see though is I run 3 rogues. So I feel using a fun stereotype that also applies in most situations is appropriate.

However I acknowledge that you disapprove of this and will try to watch what I say next time.

I only brought it up because it is done too often when players run to the nerf bat. They use stereotypes to try to push for nerfs. If one TR or GF or GWF or CW or DC kills them they want the entire class nerfed because of that one player. The word rogue in your post actually can be replaced with any classes since its not just rogues that get the last kill. I know you run rogues and you probably understand about players running to the nerf bat with stereotypes. Players should try to better themselves before running to the nerf bat. Sorry for thread stealing a little since it is a very good thread with good advice. :)

    Almost you are rigth.
But 1 on 1 are 2 class (specific path) you can't beat .
Brutal ice CW too much control. And perma steath TR (with high regen)can even beat Ice CW.

Ice spec CW is strong beacuse immunity don't work.
Perma steath TR is strong beacuse y don't see him.
I don't find tactic to beat this two class, if the player behind the char is good or awerage .

    OP has some good points.

    Or

    A simple version by me:

Get a TR and put perfects and rank 8-9 on it, then enjoy stomping everything.(ofc u need to have decent skill)
GWF works too no need for Greater Ten, just go with a Sentinel build 40k+ HP blah blah blah u know what I mean.

I think those advice are good for fresh PVPer to improve, but as for those who have been playing long enough, we all know what is op what is not. I still play my cw most of the time since it is fun to kill some TR if they are not too geared, someone need to use a different class to stomp those kid anyway :D

And for those who I fish out to defend TR is not OP blah blah blah. Well, u always get 2 TRs in a team, why?
And good TR rarely dies let's face it even against good team.
Some may try to argue CW are often seen as well, so which cw wants to put himself on a 1v1 against a max geared TR, perma stealth build perhaps? Like a bet with 1mil AD or something. No sensible CW gonna do it since it is sketchy, but lots of TR gonna say yes since they have the upper hand.
