Other people want to ragequit and smash their computer, and shove remotes in there butts when they are forced to PvP. I would imagine some people even cry, and try and have their mom contact Cryptic customer support because Tigole Bitties the mean nasty TR 1 shot her son in a PvP match.
LOL. Right on though, PvE is just repetitive with the same exact challenge every single time, PvP brings diversity and more thought about your characters strengths and weaknesses. Far more challenging and enjoyable IMO.

Matching system + penalties for leaving = more fun PvP for everyone. If you disagree with that then you are simply there for the reward and not the PvP, in which case you don't deserve the reward if you can't even participate in the PvP.
*sigh* And this is exactly the sort of case in point I was hoping you would not provide. I fear we may have to agree to disagree, but please do not say that I offered you no avenue of betterment. I was so hoping you would not come down on the side of “I want fewer people in PVP” because that’s just what the leaver penalty does. It ensures that you will have fewer and fewer people in PVP. And because no one thought to ask for anything interesting or innovative the matches remain a boring run to the middle and mash buttons extravaganza.
I asked and even begged you to think of ways to make PVP better for everyone and the best you had was a flat restatement of your previous platform. So can you then blame me for pointing at the lack of imagination, the static and flat qualities of play and the way the PVP community seems to hang out in the “more hitting less thinking” lounge?
So circling around to the OP once again, just because someone is annoying you isn’t an excuse to behave in a way that makes you seem to be a childish bully. Don’t spawn camp. It makes the rest of the PVP crowd, who are clearly upstanding and righteous citizens of spotless quality, look bad. And if you have ideas that would include people in PVP rather than exclude people, push those ideas hard. Inclusive solutions are more valuable, useful and intelligent than any punishment policy. Certainly there is someone out there with some good ideas for the devs.

You see you are under the assumption that just by giving those that would otherwise leave because they are losing more incentive to finish the match that they will stay, when the reality is that with no penalty for leaving they can simply leave every game that presents any semblance of a challenge in search of a push over enemy team.
Once teams are balanced with a ranking system there is no reason to leave other than you have a personal emergency (and could care less about a leaver penalty) or you are unsatisfied with your situation in which case you will have to take your penalty, as you are penalizing the other 9 players that want to be there and enjoy their game.
Yes there will be less players in PvP. For those like myself who want to see more challenging matches, we don't mind waiting 5-10 minutes to get a good match. The way it is now you wait 2-5 minutes and the match is over within 1 minute b/c someone doesn't like their team and leaves immediately.
And by the way there are tons of people that simply enjoy PvP exactly like it is now. Would we like to see more maps, more game modes, and more PvP content? Of course we would, but we still enjoy just playing PvP b/c that is fun for us. What makes it not fun is when the teams are unbalanced, people leave, and then the match is a semi-afk sit and wait game, which is fun for no one.
Your "incentives" idea while it may sound nice is not going to keep someone from leaving a game when there is no penalty. People that just want their AD and have no respect whatsoever for anyone but themselves will still leave a match that presents what they feel is too much of a challenge.

What usually happens is that the other team tromps one side with 550 to 20 and then breaks into the graveyard which leads to people leaving. It is silly.
Personally, I would like to see some more variety in PVP like capture the flag, larger battles, and similar things.

I have seen it the other way around several times. The opposite team starts hiding in some matches that are tied, team members on both teams start leaving, and a few team members break into the spawn area to continue the fight. I usually just leave when this starts because its a waste of time.
I agree there need to be more variety with PVP,
Every class has advantages and disadvantages. Learn the disadvantages of you class to overcome them. Learn the advantages of your class and the disadvatages of other classes to use them in pvp to win.
There is no point to whine for nerfs because you win some and loose some. Crying just makes a player look like a crier and no one, especially the devs, should take them seriously. Have a nice day!:)
I do not believe a full 5 player team or even a few players should be hiding in the spawn area at all. PVP is player versus player not hiding to get your daily. In several cases where the other team lost players agreements were reached between the teams. The agreements were 1vs1 and the team members on the other team capping a point so my team can recap it until the leavers were at the bottom of the PVP scoreboard. The idea of telephorting players to 1 of 20 locations is an interesting idea that could be added to the pushing players out of spawn idea. It gives players the option to be pushed out and face a full team or teleport to a different location and fight whoever comes to them first.
Granted some of the players are completely cowards and liars like one time when a full team was hiding in spawn a 1vs1 agreement was reached. Three team mates and myself backed off to allow the 1vs1 match to happen. The 1vs1 match did not happen because the cowardly full team jumped are single team member.
Perhaps a debuff to damage and damage resistance should be applied for every missing member the loosing team has. This would hopefully encourage them to face off against opponents on more even terms. Coupled with the teleportation idea it could let a loosing team short on players make a comeback

I'm sorry this one just bugs me to no end. a team that isn't winning is LOSING, not loosing, now excuse me while I LOOSEN the noose from around my neck as I was ready to hang myself over these terrible pvp suggestions.
Harsh leaving penalty = No leavers = Better PvP! Anything that doesn't include a penalty for leaving will not stop Joe Schmoe from leaving b/c he isn't on the winning team, or doesn't have the top spot, or decides he doesn't want to pvp anymore, or "list random stupid reason people leave for"

In some cases leaving is good, especially when the leaver is on the winning team. LOL There must be a penalty for hiding in spawn if there is a penalty for leaving. Today in one PVP match my team was winning and behind 300 points but still fighting. Someone on the winning team left and my team started winning until a DC on my team decided to hide in spawn instead of participating. We lost 950/1000 because that DC hid in spawn. We could have won since we started capping all the points but no this DC decided to be selfish and hide in spawn.

It's hard to fathom the mentality of someone that would just stop playing in the situation you describe. My guess would be that the doorbell rang, or one of his kids started eating a marble or the phone rang etc etc etc. Kicking him from the campfire into the arena isn't going to help you in that situation.
Tele Savalas, Dwarf Thaumaturge CW
Putting the Buff into Debuff since 2013 \o/ (Does that even make sense)?
If it were up to me. Leaving a match for any reason other then DC, you would be locked from doing anything in this game for 4 hours, on every character on your account.
No talking at all, in any form, no crafting, no Qing for dungeons or pvp.
HAMSTER, I would make it so when you logged on, you wouldn't even be able to move. I'd put a giant red Sign over your head that says "COWARD" in Blood red, and port you to the center of Enclave as a display for everyone else to mock and belittle for being such a HAMSTER and HAMSTER up PvP.
Your premade lost a member so that's why your leaving? Cool, I'll fix that. Every 12 Hours you get 1 free leave. After that, too f!cking bad, guess you gotta deal with the pug in your premade.
Don't like it, don't PvP.....period

It has happened more than once and its annoying. Can't kick him from the party since they disabled kicking. I've even had DCs stay in the spawn area and refuse to leave it even once because they wanted only their daily reward. I know they only wanted their daily reward because they said it flat out when asked why they were hiding. Kicking him from the campfire so the other team can kill him is fair. Hiding is just as bad as leaving. A player should not get credit for the daily if they stop suddenly and start hiding abandoning the rest of their team.

Sounds good for those in a full team who are selfish and would rather hide in the spawn instead of participate. Happens to often and its annoying. No excuse for hiding if its a full team.
