Since you can't "review" a Foundry quest until you successfully complete it - what is the method for commenting or reporting on Foundry quests that are just not complete-able? I've played two now that just won't progress for no known reason that I can find.
There should be a way to leave the quest if you get stuck without having to use your AD to buy teleport scrolls. And when/if you DO leave a quest due to some issue, you (the player) should be able to leave that comment and that should be reflected in the total score, or at least a comment on the Foundry quest that a player can see before they start it.
The way it is now, I waste my time AND my AD in order to get out of a dungeon that I just can't progress through. Not exactly the player experience I expect....
We've recently found a bug that would cause many Foundry quests to be uncompletable. We have *ALL* Foundry reviewing off until we fix this bug.
I think most authors here would prefer you to message them with a bug report as opposed to saying the quest sucks. That way they know exactly what to fix. And talking from a game dev POV, screenshots, and descriptions of what you did to get to that point are always helpful.

A tip for now: If you log out or change characters, when you come back you'll be outside the foundry instance. You can do this to leave foundries for free. There should also be a button near the map that lets you leave, as with other instances.
Warrior Nation. Always recruiting. Check us out.

You don't need to waste your AD. Simply click the exit button on the bottom left corner of the minimap. Or you can log out of the game and log back in again. Either way works.
As well, please send a message to the author informing them of the bug so they can fix it, as others have said, be specific. Its not exactly fair to rate a quest 1 star because of an issue that may have broken the quest with the new patch. It's especially unfair when the author has no control over your inability to complete the quest whether it be a problem with the game or a problem with your character.

Yup, exit button is your friend (looks like a door).
I've had to leave Foundry missions due to my own unwillingness to keep getting my butt kicked or not being in the mood to work out a jumping puzzle, which really isn't the author's fault (unless perhaps severely misrepresented).
I have also once had a portal bug out, and in this case, I sent the author a message so he could fix the quest, which he was happy to do.

Of course, this is greatly complicated by the fact that there's a 2 in 3 chance the author is on another shard, which means you can't send them mail.
(And there's no way to find out that your mail actually got received, or what shard the author is on, or... yeah)

I agree with the notion that the quest shouldn't simply be rated as "Sucks" because there's a bug, it was more my intention to let the author know, and let other players know that this is "bugged" so they can decide if they want to try it themselves or not.
In neither of my personal cases did I believe that the author was at fault - more that there was some bug or mechanism that didn't work as intended. I'm sorry if I came across anti- author.
Thanks for the heads up about the exit.
Would it be possible or practical to add a dialog when exiting a Foundry quest that collected some basic info as to why the player was exiting (rather than completeing) and have that sent to the author automagically, rather than taking a chance that the author may not be on your shard?
Just a thought.

That sounds like a very pragmatic suggestion which I would support implementing. I lucked out with mailing an author in-game, but I knew I might not. I also PMed him here, but he opted to reply in-game to let me know he'd fixed it.
