Since I'm bored with dailies, I wanted to try and last more than 2 seconds in PVP. I spent $40 last night, respecced my GF off of Envy's guide minus the gear recommendation (going with Grand Regent set, with Ancient sword and Shield). I then slotted all Rank 7's and lesser enchants. It raised my GS to exactly 14k. I have 5k power and 5.5k armor and 29k HP. Guess what? The best I did all day is second, more or less I was near the bottom every single match.
I played nearly 13 hours straight today. Guess who was at top 95% of the time. Yep, everyone's favorite class. Am I good? Maybe, it typically takes 2-3 to take me down. I am also surprised at how much the game relies on crit, as even with 5k power I maybe do an average of 3.5k dmg with about a 9k crit. If I equip Knight's Challenge, I have crit 13k. Chump change, right?
After trying to spend some cash to compete(sounds lame, but this is the nature of the game whether you want to accept it or not). It is absolutely about P2W for the time being, unless they implement hard caps, and server side nerfs while in PVP. Which they won't because of people like me(competitive). Guess what I was thinking today? :If I spent x amount of more money, then I could slot x enchant, and then get x boost in this stat.
So yeh, all you PVE peeps who jump in PVP for your dailies, don't worry, you probably don't suck. You just haven't spent 100's of dollars on gear like the majority of PVP'ers. And oh yeh, the game is broke as ****, and TR's are OP as hell. There is a reason for the thousands of threads on that crappy class, it's easy mode. Well, I guess I have to wait another two weeks until I get paid to get better at this game.
well. I spent over 30 usd since i started to play this month. I am very happy with my tank character, and i do stand very long in PvP. maybe it is the way you built your char. playing a DPS build may lead you to death, especially if you fight premades, or stronger teams.

The problem with players like you and there are a lot of players like you is that you never actually take the time to discover what those "OP" rogues are using. It makes no sense to heavily nerf rogues when it comes down to having enchants. It heavily weakens those who don't have those enchants with these constant nerfs because we all know **** well that Cryptic will NEVER nerf the enchants. They are their bread and butter cash cows. So you guys complain until the rogue is unplayable. This coming 8th nerf to rogues DPS is proof that you guys just can't pvp peroid. It has NOTHING to do with rogue being OP or not and everything to do with you guys not knowing how to play. So heavily nerf the rogue so every rogue needs to have perfect enchants to do any dmg and survive making all the other rogues cake walks. Yeah sounds like a great game. Rogues are NEVER fought in PVP the are ONLY fought in the forums. LTP

Its not you. This is not a 1v1, its 5v5 you are only as good as the people you play with.
This game is designed to make as much money as possible on a day to day basis. It is not designed to be a great long term game.

Quoted for hard truth. Can the OP tell me the ability rotation the rogues in question were using? Does he even know what abilities the rogue HAS? How long between the rogue's click of the button and the frame of impact? When to dodge/block/counter? What the cooldown of said abilities are for best retort in combat?
Knowledge is power, my friend. Max out a rogue yourself in PvP (actually, max out ALL classes, preferably), and you'll be much more aware of your enemies you claim are OP. You might even come to a sudden realization........
No. It's only as good as the four spoiled turds you play with.
I don't mean to be an @ss, or derail this thread if anything, but this game is blatantly Pay-2-Win. I dare you to prove me wrong. Little Timmy who just hit 60 and did eye-gouging horrible in every PvP match under 60 can now use those 2 million astral diamonds(WHICH DON'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE AT ALL C'MON GUYS) to purchase himself a full set of gear(A good 11k+GS off the bat). A full set of hard-hitting weaponry. Followed by complimentary enchantments. A sweet 110% mount, and some killer buffs too!
Now the **** that was as good as a wet carrot in PvPs at level 59 can cream people who play the game legitimately at level 60 because of his mommy's plastic.
Why are people that spend money for items spoiled? What makes you think they are kids? The people I play with including myself are adults who work for a living and buy items with their hard earned money because we don't have all day to sit on the computer and play video games we have to go to work and pay bills. Giving us the option to buy ingame items make the game free for you to play.

hmm lurkers and lashing because thats all it takes properly geared against pugs come on now dont be silly
envy build is for timeless not for grand regent, even without tenes it works great on pvp, same as for the stalwart build from roku (that after the patch will no longer be the BiS for hybrids) with stalwart i usually am in the first 3 spots or near never last spot lol and usually won some matches, but as you mention pvpv is critters and burst damage you will see that a lot in pvpv 10k hits from melees
Everything works out in the end . If it hasn't worked out yet, it isn't the end...
Well if you aren't going to learn what is killing you then there is no hope. Plenty of rogues get owned by GFs all the time. My advice is to stop spending money buy gear but gaining no skill. Watch a couple of GF on twitch and see how they are using their encounters. PvP in this game is the most challenging/fun of any MMO. You gotta learn what skills work for how you wanna play. Or i guess you can keep getting creamed by people who you associate with 15 year olds...
Have not spent a dime on this game ... but I can tell you ... I don't pvp on my shard simply because of THIS kind of thread ... AND the FACT that if im in America and doofus is in Italy ... (btw this is the 1st MMO ive ever played with poles and Italians) ... Im NOT seeing whats really happening ... why bother getting all worked up over it? .... daily I see people that have NO IDEA how to play their class in PVE .. (WHY would I wanna go loose my mind in PVP???) .. MUCH less play in a group constructively! ... am I amazed? ... no ...its typical ... I can say I wont spend any cash on this because it simply IS a PTW game ... flat out the truth .. and what fun is that? when Skipper the cash king can BUY his way to superiority .. it just isn't fun .... Im VERY anxious to see if they really fudged it up for us all ... we will all see Thursday! Companions ARE a joke .... whats the sense? each grp im in all I see is companions down for the count .. lets see if they gave them ANY kind of buff besides a new lvl cap ... I seriously doubt it. p3ac3
I have a GF on Dragon server.Mainly i do PvP becouse i think its super fun but i also do the GG 20v20..To be honest i cant feel your pain ...I am absolutly sure that the GF is the best pvp class. It cant be beaten 1v1 by any other class with same gear / 14k .Most the rogues i random with are dead in 2 hits max some are just skilled and from time to time i get ripped but its a game and thats a part of the competition.I still manage to make scores like 32/0/22 , 22/1/28 , 36/6/18 and pretty often i make 18/0 , 15/0 , 14/0 etc .I even have a Bloodthirsty title which is rare for a GF ^^ .
Get timeless set + brutal lizardfolk make ur stats on 1k ArP , 1400 - 1700 base critical , get a vorpal even a lesser one boosts 1-2k , then go to the dummies and make 2-3 combination of enounters which you will change in-game depending on the team your facing.
Thats all newb

Did your team win? It's Domination, not Death Match.
And the scoreboards are whacked, you could be stomping someone in the ground only to have a TR or CW snatch the kill from you. You get a lousy assist, they get the full kill. Doesn't make them OP, it means the scoreboards are whacked.
GF's are all how you play. Good friend of mine plays one, hasnt spend a dime on the game, has all rank 5 enchants and no Stalwarts and embarrasses 13k+GS $$ players everyday. Notice the Name on my sig below, hes the one in #1 spot. Watch some videos of every class playing pvp. I guarantee you'll learn something and start getting better.
Someone in here made a comment its about your team. Hes totally correct, if your team is an absolute slobber fest of geeks who dont know how to play, your gear doesnt matter if the other team is always focusing you and you have no help from your teammates. Its 5/5...not 1 Vs all.
Keep playing..you'll get better

This. I haven't spent a dime on this game, have a 12k CW, working on a Greater Vorpal, and I can hold my own in PVP just fine. So much is who you play with. I'm in a PVP/PVE guild on Mindflayer. I've respeced my CW (get this) 5 times to find the optimal PVP build, and I'm still looking on how to adjust to make him more effective. I watch videos and tournaments and talk to my guild members. I also know many of the good players on my server, can recognize their names, and even know some of their play styles.
Here's another thing I did: I leveled a GF, GWF, TR, and DC to 60 (just make another account or buy character slots with AD, they're not pricey). Why? To 1) level Leadership for AD and to 2) get a feel for the class. I had no idea what the heck Unstoppable was for a GWF until I got one to level 10. I thought it was some lame encounter power. Now I can spot and dodge other peoples' Encounters fairly easily.

I don't care how much money you spent to make your character good, if you don't understand game play mechanics of your class as well as game play mechanics of other classes including counters you will fail. I did forget one important key ingredient in that equation, SKILL, you seem to have the skill to post a whining thread but most people do, that doesn't change the fact you severely lack in game skill and based on your posting I doubt ever will because it's much easier to complain then actually learn and aquire that skill!

This is just a general response to a lot of the comments I read. To clarify, I do enjoy PVP, and I love GF class, it IS a beast. In my original post I clearly stated that it typically takes 2 if not 3 players to chew me down. That is awesome. No one wants to take me on 1 v 1. Typically it is perma stealthed TR's, or crazed lunatic GWF who just charge at me. My KD ratio end game is typically 8-10 kills vs 1-3 deaths. If I am playing against a pre-made (I'm guildless) that number can be flipped.
And I am not sure what constitutes NOT being a ****. Yes I have only played about a month and half, but I have 1 60 GF and 1 60 GWF. Prior to spending real $ on gear, I grinded a lot of T2's and farmed for gems to try and make some AD. As far as the gear goes, well Timeless and Stalwart are probably the sets. The Regent seemed great because the set bonus allocates 20% of D to Power. With a 5k Defense stat, that raised my Power an additional 1000. I was a **** in that I didn't realize Arpen and crit were PVP stats.
Lastly I didn't pay money to 'be good', I paid to respec and gear so I could compete. (My prior spec was strictly PVE tank who did NOTHING in PVP).
PVP is a bit more dynamic than killing predictable NPCs; maybe you're just not very good. Not everyone can be the best at something.
Well, as far as MMO combat goes, I was pretty good in WoW, and I work in the video game industry. I am definitely above average in most competitive games I play, and that spans from over a decade of experience. In NV it's a flawed broken system and that is what erks me.
I am all for skilled players, I enjoy the challenge. Good players should be rewarded for their time effort and devotion. If this game had that, I would not QQ. Let players who earn those Bloodthirsty titles get enchants and gear through skill or end game unlock challenges. As it stands, this is not the case. You buy your stats, and whoever spent the most will succeed. It is that simple. If a game like Call of Duty pulled something like that, the community would drop it in a second.
Besides this game is EASY. You have three encounters for crying out loud. You can play with an Xbox controller. It is NOTHING like WoW in that some players would spend HOURS tweaking their UI and creating keybinds because you had SO many powers. The PVP is rock, paper, scissors, that's all. A little bit of quick reflexes are required, but the fundamentals are easy. What isn't easy is defending against the stacked tenebrous players with greater enchants. PVE players obviously don't feel the effects, but Vorpal and Rank 7 and higher enchants on players in PVP make them **** near impossible to drop. Factor in that most players who do this run premades and will zerg the HAMSTER out of you, and it makes it frustrating because at that point it has NOTHING to do with knowing a class. It's just that you are poorer than the other guy.

Unfortunatly thats how it allways is in PvE games, gear is the deciding factor. Some people take PvP as serious buisness even in PvE oriented games and are ready to pay, its silly for companys to ignore it. I was faulty and cried on forum about balance and gear score, that was foolish on my part since i knew whats the main selling point of this game was. If you are looking for fair competition do not go to PvE games. There are lots of good and balanced PvP games, they can not afford to screw balace so badly like PvE games can where main conted was and allways will be Environment..

You made a comparison of this game being easy to WoW. I took that as you were saying WoW was/is in someway difficult? Are we talking about the same game? The WoW that every single boss in the entire game has player addon-on enrage timers/boss mechanic tool tips, timers for every single ability. THe only thing you have to do in that game is stay out of red HAMSTER.
WoW is a slobberfest of easy........so is this game, but comparing the two is like comparing two=apples brosef.
How about 70 man raids? 10 man complete heal teams. 5 man Tank rotations. Not getting tash on boss in the first 4 seconds and the entire 70 man raid whipes. The only mmo i can think of that had any difficulty was EQ 1. Only big boys completed raids............just sayin

Huh? Way off topic my friend. BG's in WoW were WAY harder that Domination in this game. You are talking about PVE and raids. What the heck does that have anything to do with anything in this thread.

OP please read your post, if that doesn't sound like whining then I don't know what to say to you. You are a GF, a tank with a damage build. I am sorry to say that will not automatically put you on top, especially when the person who was on top (according to you 95% of the time which I doubt that number is factual and more made up to make a point) is designed to be a single target damage dealer. Maybe you should have spent some of that time looking at the logs to see what was damaging you so much and then did a bit of research to find counters to them. Bottom line is this is just another whine thread from someone with decent gear and no knowledge of other classes and their abilities whining because they failed.
I will also say that most rogues that pvp know what other classes bring into the arena for one reason and one reason only because we are frail as far as hit points go, and the good ones know when to get in and then get out.....
Just calling it as I see it!
P.S. I also forgot to mention, I love nothing more than owning someone who uses tene's in pvp, it gives me great satisfaction to know that skill beat P2W !!!!

You know, GF is really strong in pvp. Perhaps the most telling thing in your OP though is that you said "Since I'm bored with dailies, I wanted to try and last more than 2 seconds in PVP" (first sentence). You'll be fighting people that only pvp, level just through pvp, and have played many different classes. That first sentence just screams noobster to me (lol why is n@@b considered a swear word???). You can't expect to suddenly be the best after spending 1 day concentrating on pvp.
You also say "it typically takes 2-3 to take me down". I can guarantee that this is due to the OP class you play and the money you spent to gear yourself out and the "guide" you followed. Play day in day out just pvp for a few months, then come and assess the game.
But I can save you the effort. The game's pvp is broken at level cap. If you like pvp just play pre-cap, much more fun if you can get a game with no bots afkers etc.

Sorry if my original post sounded like I just now decided to PVP. No, I was a big BG player in WoW, and I PVP'ed through all the level brackets (usually jumped in at 17,27,37,etc because scaling sucks) in NV on my GF and GWF. So I have played quite a bit.
I decided to gear down and used what I had in Glory and under 50k in AD to get back on the T1 Indom set. I went back to my Brutal Scimitar and chose cheap gear with crit and arpen. It's funny, because I placed 1st tonight for the 1st time (only once), but the performance I am getting from the cheap set (only Rank 5 or 6, nothing fancy) is way better than my uber T2 set.

YOU are a perfect example of why needless nerfs get put in game, you got OWNED in pvp and came to the forums, whined and shed negative light on a class for apparently no good reason. Shakes head....
Devs please NERF GF's because apparently nubs can own with that class....

respecced my GF off of Envy's guide minus the gear recommendation (going with Grand Regent set, with Ancient sword and Shield). I then slotted all Rank 7's and lesser enchants.
You just answered your own question... Grand Regent is worthless in pvp.
Guild Master of <Enemy Team>
We are definitely dominating, and we are always about to win.
Concluding that "TR is OP as hell" is extremely illogical to say when u haven't tried it yet(Obviously you have never played one). You said it is an easy class since u said that tr is an easy class, therefore GF is a hard class. Well... let's see how hard your class, GF, to use in PvE/PvP...atak>shield>???.. hmm what else I guess that's it? An ordinary TR sir CAN NOT 1 SHOT U WITHOUT LA but soon LA will be nerf by 60% to 25% bonus damage, so don't worry no one can 1-3 shot u anymore. 1 shotting is still possible after the nerf to TR, but it requires high enchantments, high vorpal enchantment, full damage buffs(Passives), and Late game items. For short it requires an extraordinary TR. Well u can't blame the Single burst damage class for dealing very high damage if your build is not even tanky at all. Ugh... tired of this same whine thread, but I can't help myself to read it.

WoW PvP doesn't prepare you for PvP in any game with active dodging & blocking. If you'd done well in GW1/2, DCUO, CO, or other "active" combat game I'd be more impressed, but WoW PvP is old style MMO combat with tab targeting and frankly not much like more modern MMO combat. If you'd been a good comp FPS or RTS player I'd also have given you more credit.
It is a L2P issue and your WoW experience is more of a hinderance than a help since you're clearly not ready to adapt.

"There is only one way to be a champion..., Never ...ing lose"
No. It's only as good as the four spoiled turds you play with.
<Removed Pay to Win Argument>
Why are people that spend money for items spoiled? What makes you think they are kids? The people I play with including myself are adults who work for a living and buy items with their hard earned money because we don't have all day to sit on the computer and play video games we have to go to work and pay bills. Giving us the option to buy ingame items make the game free for you to play.
hmm lurkers and lashing because thats all it takes properly geared against pugs come on now dont be silly
their armor and weapon gives high ArPen also at their stats
ArPen + high Crit rate = owning
as he said having high power will still not add high damage GF that can 1 hit KO at PVP are using Tene

A Proud Member Of THE 300 Guild - Tene's are nothing but P2W, Nerf or Remove please!
