Mail box/banks or better said the lack of them

Just a question out of curiosity, why we only have mail boxes in one area, why we cannot have mailboxes at each of the different maps, at least one in each map and the same thing with banks, why cant we have a bank or a bank teller guy in each map instead to have to travel to the main city?

Don't know if this topic has been brought before so forgive me if it had in the past.

I know in other games you can buy portable banks and mailboxes but I don't want to give any ideas to the devs, lol ;)

you can read your mail anywhere.

you only need to go to a mailbox if you want to receive any attachments.

That is the point, sometimes I need to buy Identification scrolls with AD and I have some in my mail but I am in the middle of Kiknto and Kabootoo and I can get them unless I make the trip back to LAG town.

That's what adventuring is all about, heading off into the wilds with only the equipment in your backpack and then loading up on goodies to come sell back in the town..

No to mailboxes everywhere..convenience kills the rpg in rpg..

Tell me that when my boxes are full and I still have a bunch of quests pending on the same area.

You can call the AD vendor from anywhere, that lets you buy ID scrolls and teleport scrolls.

Plan your quests better or start throwing out the junk items.

The point is that I have items sold with AD waiting in my inbox and if I need to access to them, I am forced to abandon what I am doing and go and visit Rubberbandlagtown what is a waste of time.

i agree, the lack of mailboxes in other zones is a huge pain in the HAMSTER. There doesn't need to be one at every camp or anything of that nature, but it would be great if they added one at the DOOR to the zones, if nothing else. Or the first campfire. Just entering PE often crashes my game and has been doing this since beta. Being forced to pick up or send mail while in PE is all that much more annoying because of it. i AM happy that they did add a mailbox in PE near the gate you enter when returning to zone, though. That means i only have to lag-walk a little way, so maybe 5min to walk to the mailbox, instead of 30min. Seriously, at least until they fix the lag in PE, they should give us other options so we can avoid the zone.

The reason for not having those everywhere is (at least) twofold. For one: The lack of inventoryspace is a source of income to the company running the game (think "greater bag of holding"). The other (main) reason are bots. If they could reach a PObox easily the economy would die instantly.

That is what I was trying to say, I didn't mean one mailbox in each campfire, just one in each gate. English is my second language, so I apologize.

Okay, then just put one in the first zone. (Blacklake? Blackdagger? Something like that.) Put it right by the door in that ONE zone. i park in a zone near the door, as it is, so i can easily pray and then cross over to mail stuff, since there is NO WAY i'll intentionally walk from the altar in PE all the way down to the mailboxes regularly. i may be a HAMSTER, but that is way beyond even my own pain tolerance. Just one mailbox that doesn't force players to endure the lagfest would be great.

You walk? Park by the mailbox and use altars to invoke. There I just saved you 20 seconds.

Change instances then if you find yourself lagging in PE. Pick a low pop PE and you should be set.

Or, i could easily avoid it (and not have to wait 1.5min to manage anything on my character) by simply parking in another zone... Plus, i won't be forced to cross the lagzone of death to get BACK to the mailbox...

If you have one by the gate at the start of each zone, why not just click the gate, click Protector's Enclave, then use the mailbox that's going to be right in front of you? You don't have to go to the laggy side of the city by the market.

. . . . . I can see placing mailboxes in the other zones within Neverwinter City but at other places, I don't think I like the sound of that. Maybe only in the very beginning starter areas I could see it justified and worked in without being "how the heck is mail getting past all the monsters!" Like for instance, Helm's Hold, the only place a mailbox should be is when you first enter the zone. Same for Pirates Skyhold and maybe a couple other places. But out in the middle of zones filled with monsters? I'd have to say no, I don't like the sound of that.

I agree we could use more mailboxes banks and auctioneers, just put a drunk mail carrier in the main Bars/rest areas at the start of each zone. and maybe one near major shopping points. I think part if the issue is sometimes people can not zone into PE cause they crash or lag.

I can also see having a vip mail carrier in the vip room in the mask a mail carrier, other useful vender pcs, like tailors, auction brokers, craft suppliers, tellers for the VIP vault(bank) will make the vip room seem more leet especially since some many people can sneak in anyhow. Heck if its all about the venders you could open it to the public and the vips will still feel leet AND be able to rp with friends.

I totally agree, have a mailbox by the gate at each new area, no in the middle of everywhere, just at the gate.

. . . . . Hah! Only problem with that is, there's far too many hot elven babes running about! We'd never get our mail on time! Or well, as least us old men wouldn't...

The other day I heard someone in Neverdeath Graveyard saying in zone we needed a mailbox there. I was like, besides a Lich or two... who is getting all this mail at a graveyard?

Stuff like this is always going to be a realism vs convenience issue. Most of the places players would want a mailbox have no realistic reason for one existing there. But developers could always find a way. They could add some sort of rugged delivery guild that specializes in exotic delivery locations. And then of course there is always magic.

I'm not actually suggesting anything. Just saying anything is possible. Even if it shouldn't be.
