Scheduled Chat Maintenance 8-8-13, 7-8AM PDT

Hey everyone!

We'll be performing a chat server maintenance tomorrow (Thursday) morning from 7-8AM PDT (when is that in your time zone?).

The game servers will still be up during that time, but chat will down for the duration of the maintenance.

    Tomorrow morning they will be taking down the chat server for an hour. During that time you won't be able to use zone, user created channels, or PMs.

    i know what theyre doing but what are they trying to effect by doing this? just taking it down for the sake of no socialising or what?

This is nothing new and is something that happens all the time in STO and CO, Cryptic's other two games.     They do chat server maintenance every once and a while. It normally goes unnoticed because it happens while the game is down, so you can only see when it happens if you are connected to the chat server through through other means.

    It is just chat maintenance. The game isn't getting a patch.

    Any other fixes going on? Im waiting to hear anything about possible 4piece fix. Checking the patch notes but nothing so far :(. Just want it before call to arms!

    How many different ways does it need to be said, NOTHING IS GETTING FIXED! It is a tune up, nothing more. This is the chat server, NOT THE GAME SERVER!

    This is outrageous.... you guys don't even know that set bonus's are all broken? Too lazy to fix? High Prophet boot drops from chest remain soulbound still.....

    They know it's broken, they have it fixed on the Preview server. Probably just flushing out the code before they go live with it

    This is pointless... you shouldn't need to shut the whole thing down to clear the logs etc. why don't they fix that damned double slash issue while it's down come on... really it's getting very very annoying and what about officer chat... I mean why do we need to do round about ways to use it.

    . . . . . Again, this was a scheduled maintenance and not a patch. Again, only the chat server went down, not the whole gaming server. As I said, chat is on its own server allowing for it to independently be brought down for maintenance without having to take the game server offline.

    Closing this now as maintenance has since been completed.
