WiFi is simply a wireless connection within your house.
Anything wireless will increase latency between your computer and modem, a hard wire will always supply the fastest connection speed but that only effects your internal speed and for the most part should be negligible.
Using WiFi instead of a hard wire wouldn't negatively effect one game any more than another. It is all based on your own internal speeds and nobody can answer that question except you because if you're experiencing lag while using WiFi and not when using a hard wire that issue is entirely on your end and has absolutely nothing to do with the game.
Chances are if you can't play games on WiFi there's something wrong with your WiFi.

If you mean a mobile wireless connection with your laptop (no connection to the house ADSL) using a usb wireless key yes I am using one just now and never I had any problem Of course It has to be one of the new HSPA connections

My answer wasn't telling you what WiFi is as much as pointing out the silly-ness of asking if there are issues with using WiFi when playing online games.
WiFi acts as a wireless connection. If it works it works. If it doesn't it doesn't.
And if it doesn't work the problem is your WiFi and not the fact you are using WiFi.

Whether you use WiFi or not is irrelevant. The only thing that matters is the connection speed and stability.

. . . . . WiFi connections will be dependent only on one's connection to said wireless device and the device's capabilities. Interference (walls, metals, distance, etc) plays a role in one's connection to a wireless device as does your computer's internal wireless hardware and drivers, as well as the wireless device's own internal software/firmware.
