Moving AD to different Charachter on the same Shard

Hi,

Just found out how to move AD to a different character but has to be on the same server/shard.

Place really low bid on the AD = Zen market and then log in the different character and cancel order.

I tried it on a Character on a different server/shard and it did not show up.

Please remember that the Zen shows up on all characters.


(rofl - I once thought I had the same amount of Zen by coincidence on 2 characters and complained like hell when one disappeared thinking they were unique :o )

    Interesting ... I assume you are talking about different characters from the same account, right?

    Yes that is right. Same account. I made post because people were commenting that they could not mail etc.. AD to another character that they have.

    Besides it would have to be the same account to have access to cancel order.

    Just to clear up this process, this is taken from an old Alpha/Beta FAQ in which I laid out how to do this:


    Transferring Astral Diamonds

    Q: Is it possible to Transfer Claimed Astral Diamonds from one Character to another Character on the same account?

    A: Yes! As long as both characters are on the same Shard.

    To do this, you first need to open up the Astral Diamond Exchange (The Gem Icon on the Menu Bar) and then you will need to place an offer to Buy Zen for Astral Diamonds (in effect, selling your ADs). Immediately after placing the Listing, cancel the Listing on your active trades tab. This will then place those Astral Diamondsinto an Exchange Pool. You can then log out of that character and log in with a different character and go into the Exchange and claim them from your Exchange Pool. You cannot transfer Astral Diamonds across Shards however, as each Shard has it's own Astral Diamond Exchange and Auction Houses. You can only place refined Astral Diamonds into the Exchange.

    Q: Is it possible to Give another Player (or different account) my Astral Diamonds?

    A: No. You must either use the Astral Diamond Exchange to buy or sell Astral Diamonds or use the Auction House to sell or buy wares for Astral Diamonds. You can however make small donations to Foundry Authors upon completing one of their Foundry Missions when you rate and review it.

    Hey Zebulon, considering this, why are AD the currency for guild bank tabs? Is Cryptic working on a method that will allow us players to donate to the guild bank tabs? Considering how STO does its starbases and embassies, and the forthcoming Neverwinter campaign system, I could see an option in there to support guild bank donations. I just think it was a huge mistake from the player point of view to make AD the primary credit system when it's STO counterpart, dilithium, is not. I definitely think having to fudge the AH in order to pass AD, with not only the 10% penalty but the listing cost as well, is a clumsy and terrible method of donating AD to my guild for tabs.
