When are the servers merging?

does anyone know when the servers are merging? ive heard this from many people but im not sure if its just rumors. anyone know?

    The plan is to eventually merge into a single server structure some time after the beta ends.

    No one knows exactly how or when.

    They always planned to merge after the rush.
    Its all based off super servers. Each main server has 100s of shard servers. (pretty epic job if you ask me; im surprised it runs so smooth; minus the apparent issues they have run into)
    This is why guilds cant share names etc on servers; foundries are Xserver, etc to avoid issues when they merge.

    However im assuming since the awesome success of this game has dwarfed their expectation this might be on hold now.

    Last Dev post in the tracker now said there is no longer an estimated time; it was "soon after release". They have stepped back from it for now so nothing immediate on the board for now.

    It's not really merging. All 3 Shards are already "one" giant server, it's just that they split it into the 3 for launch. After launch dies down a bit they'll put them back together. If you've ever play Star Trek Online and/or Champions Online, that's how Neverwinter Shard will end up like.

    That way to can play with anyone. If a friend ended up and a different Shard, soon you'll be able to meet and and jump into some dungeons together.

    Just quoting this for accuracy. Saw both the AMA's and the video interviews which confirm that Neverwinter will use the "superserver" technology. They want to eventually merge them into a superserver some time after launch once they have an idea of the loads on the infrastructure.

    Common sense would dictate that they would merge the servers when the population of at least 1 server becomes low enough to warrant it, and not before such a time.
