I'm in a region called the Scrying tower. Lvl 50 plus area where you teleport around. Arcanist row and the Unhallowed Gorunds is near. Stupid map doesn't show where the exit/entrance's are. Trying to get back to protector's enclave. Anyone tell me how please? Been asking in game, no help:(
Stand facing the main elf quest giver. Look left, up the ramp, towards the portal. If you pass the merc chick you're going the right way. Take the portal and you should see the sparkle trail.

When I can't find my way back, I tend to select a Quest and make it the top one in a different Zone and it usually but not always will show me the way to the exit via the "fairies dust" road.
You can also use the Map (M button) and double click on the exit.
But once I actually had to purchase scrolls of return or whatever they are called to get back to PE!
On a side note, someone else posted this type of question way back at start of Open Beta and they answered the same way I did to you which I always remembered. So you are not alone in "can't find my way back" world of Neverwinter!!! LOL!
I have complained about this so many times. That area is so confusing, and all the portals look the same, and the roads are filled with mobs that respawn almost immediately... so while you are searching for the way out, you are constantly being accosted by mobs and the map is UTTERLY USELESS.
There is NO REASON why this company can't mark the exits on their stupid maps. The portals should give you a path to return to PE. As it is, the maps are almost useless. This is the worst area of the game, but in most all the other areas, it is just as bad.
Another way to gouge the playerbase into buying a scroll for an outrageous 4k AD. It just doesn't stop.
Unless you have a quest in another map the transition doesn't show up on the map notes, this is an issue that needs to be addressed.
....
That will trick will work on some maps, but not all, due to the warp gates in the Chasm. Even if you had a quest back to Knox. The path wont show if you are on the wrong side of one of the gates.
The Scrying tower area is the worst, simply because there are 4 gates all close by and they all look the same. Its very easy to get lost there.
It always pays to scout the map you're on if you're new there. Look at the landmarks and try to memorize your way back. Only applies to men I think as women have an amazing sense of intuition...
