Pvp'n my way to 60, choo choo!

For those of you unfamiliar with the title, you get it once you score the most kills in a PvP match 50 times.

SilWYk9.png

Good, but there's still a big one to get.

(Note: Cryptic, I'm not sure if adding a few letters to the UI of Neverwinter falls under your "ever-so-small" budget, but could you maybe add like..a couple I's? Thanks. ^_^)
lRSSwYb.png

Race: Human

Stat Roll: 17 STR (18 from first free point), 10 CON, 10 DEX, 10 INT, 16 WIS, 12 CHA - I put points into STR and WIS as I level.

Skills: This is currently what I'm running, obviously some things will change as I level up more.

Encounter Loadout 1: Prophecy of Doom, Forgemaster's Flame, Chains of Blazing Light
Encounter Loadout 2: Prophecy of Doom, Daunting Light, Chains of Blazing Light

I alternate between Daunting Light and Forgemasters Flame depending on how I see the enemy positioning themselves, if they tend to bunch up a lot I use Daunting Light, if they're spread out more I use Forgemasters Flame for the slow and more reliable focus fire. I also switch between the two depending on how much I'm getting focused, Forgemasters Flame is obviously going to be good for kiting purposes and preventing people from escaping.

Class Feature/Passives: Holy Fervor and Terrifying Insight later on.

At Wills: Lance of Faith, Brand of the Sun

Daily's: Guardian of Faith, Flame Strike.

> Again, many of these will probably change as I get closer to 60. <

Current Feats:

Answering any questions you might have, note that this is a PvP build and I ONLY level up from PvP.

I played one of my clerics all the way up from level 10 to 60. At level 40 a slight shift occurs where you weren't quite as strong as before, at level 50 you are playing pretty even all the way up to level 59. At level 60 you are in for a shock.

As long as you keep getting gear upgrades every 10 levels (especially your weapon) your damage should remain consistently good. And yeah, I know whats awaiting me at 60, this is an alt.

I Wish the Head Hunter title wasn't bugged. I got the achieve a long time ago but the title isn't available for a lot of players. In my versus tab says I achieved it but didn't give me a title for the reward. Oh well I am shooting for Bloodthirsty.

I am interested in this post though because a lot of clerics QQ about how do I get glory Dps classes its unfair they lead in kills. So glad you made it now we can just direct them to you Dps DC post so keep it updated.

A you are one of the QQ clerics I am referring too. Pay attention you can build a OP cleric. They can dominate at 60 if geared right and played right. They are not the weakest class you can do anything if you put in the work. I hope you find some of your answers so you can enjoy your cleric cause it really is a tough tough class.

    I'll agree with this.

Clerics are only weak in PVP when your team is doing stupid stuff or is just plain bad. It's no different than playing a support class in any other game.

I don't need that to get some nice kills in pvp. Most of the times, sun burst allows me to spam hammer of fate and FF helps me to finish off foes running away from the mighty cleric. :)

Only noobs will stay in the daunting light area. Once you reach lvl 60 you will see much less passive players standing in one area.

Even if i still use astral shield in pvp i'm often in the top 3, sometimes i can rank first.

I tend to normally score the highest of the clerics in the PvP battles I fight in, probably a good 80% of the time. This is very sad indeed, cause no matter how hard I'm having it 80% or so of the rest are doing even worse.

Daunting works well if you have someone that can CC the target with you, such as GWF takedown, GF CC spam, CW choke, or your own guardian of faith.

If you get really good with it you can place it where someone will land after a sunburst punt and they wont be able to avoid it really.

Still I don't use it, Searing light is much more practical and on a shorter cooldown. I'm usually too busy healing peeps and my mind woudl get too distracted by thinking about where to place a daunting.

Hi. This thread belongs in the Devoted Clerics forum section. If the mods could move it there, that'd be great.

OT: I would never respecc dps just to be viable in PvP, when it costs ZEN and over 100k AD, and locks you out of PvE basically. So if this is another one of those rare "look at me I'm a cleric and I'm doing fine (by leaving the healer role)" in this sea of complaining and pissed of Clerics and their threads on how underpowered and boring to play the class is, I'm not impressed.

Simular to my endgame build, since healing trough dmg in pvp in this game isn't doeble i'm running my cleric as dps until they sort the class for healing in pvp.

At Will: Brand of the Sun, Astral Seal
Encounter: Prophecy of Doom, Forgemaster's Flame, Break the Spirit
    Daily: Hammer of Fate, Flamestrike

My feats atm are all screwed up, since it was made for Tank/Healing, but the dmg is insane even with these feats, once i have enough for a respec my dmg will probobly go up 30% and also more tailor'd for dps.

Gctrl only pvps, he doesn't do pve so it's no skin off his back in regards to that. Some people like to play MMOs just for pvp and pvp alone.

You say clerics are not the weakest pvp class? ... Tell me then, which class is weaker? CW? TR? maybe even GWF? =D

It is still the weakest pvp class if ur playing solo pvping etc. In team games, having 1 cleric + 1 guy inside the circle equals 1 GWF alone.

They are not bad, not by any means, but they are the weakest, they are not stronger than a CW, lvl 60 or while lvling, a rouge in lvl 60, MAYBE at some levels while lvling and for the rest .. well yeah

I got rank 3 many, many , many moons ago. In my versus tab I have the achieve just doesn't have Head Hunter as a reward. Some others that achieved this awhile back I heard also couldn't find it. They have fixed the versus tab but its still not there. When I first got the Head Hunter achieve there was no versus tab in my screen. So for now I rock the executioner title just kinda sad that I can't use Head Hunter but I am closing in on Bloodthirsty and 5000 kills so I guess ill just take that one.

heheh, I don't dislike PvE, im just particular about it. But yeah, nowadays if I ever pve its merely as a means to help me pvp better.

I already have a post in that section, but I think it's relevant here as well because this build is purely for pvp, and this is the only pvp section we have on the forums.

My main is a GF, this is just one of my alts. I have not spent any zen on him and the most AD I've spent so far on gear is like 40k.

I am a pvp'r at heart so I don't care about getting locked out of pve. I have not spent 1 second on pve content since being lvl 10 on this character. I level purely from pvp, and I make a decent amount of gold doing it as well. If you're always first you're getting 1 blue item per game, some of these you just vendor, others can actually sell for a decent amount of AD.

There are pvp belts at 60 you can win, which easily go for 400k ad sometimes. I've even seen 500 on several occasions. That on top of doing leadership on multiple chars and selling PvP pots, I make a sizable amount of gold every week. There are other ways to make money in this game other than pve, just sayin.

PvP in most MMO = makes sense and would be stupid to not have it.
PvP in DnD is insulting to the spirit of the game :/ but i hope some day we'll find a way to coexist.

This game was planned as a co-op multiplayer...

I normally don't do this but I am going to here.

I played a couple matches with Gctrl and I will say it was annoying having him on the team. While the team was working together trying to get points one and 2 he would go off and head to 3 to try and solo someone.

When our point 1 was being taken, I went then and helped Gctrl kill a person. I got the kill. What happened next GCTRl crying I am stealing his kills, every time i got near him he cried I was trying to steal his kills.

So grats on your head hunter achievement, but I hope I don't have you on my team anymore.

Before the game starts I hit X to check out what I am going against to see what skills I need to use and if they have a cleric. I don't check to see if they have a TR,CW,GWF. All I am looking for is do they have a cleric that I and my team have to focus. That in itself states that they are not underpowered and dictate a lot of pvp matches.

A cleric changes the fight and gives you a better chance to win and hold basses. Period.

clerics are underpowered in so many different ways, that they can buff and help others who are around them doesn't change that matter any

Thats an interesting retelling of events. Here's what actually happened: I rushed their closest point, was moments away from killing the only person there and cap it myself, giving us a huge advantage in the beginning of the game. I did not need any help, middle needed help, so you abandoned middle to come *help* me kill someone that was already about to die, and then instead of going back to help mid that you abandoned, you wait there to cap the point with me. You also continued doing this all game, even though I have a superior mount, which means i move across the map quicker than you, and clearly have better killing potential. You were probably just trying to hoard points so you could be first while I'm actually trying to win the game.

The reason I back cap is because it gives us a huge advantage in winning the game. It's not to "go off and solo someone" for entertainment. I take the point, leave it and rush back to help with another point being contested. Having an extra player do this with me is unnecessary because simply put, I don't need any help. So you're hurting the team by trying to help me. It's simple.

Likewise, you obviously dont understand when someone needs help and when they don't, either that or you're just trying to hoard points so whenever you see we're about to take a point you abandon what you're doing so you can get free points. You also don't seem to understand proper strategies for winning in domination. Having one person to back cap a point is crucial. Sending extra players to do this is silly, unless you already have total control of the map (which we did not).

Anyone will try to take kills from clerics, because we have some nice dps abilities but we have limited burst damage and often can't finish off a target with 10% hp left, even if we have done the other 90% by ourself. Relax. It will happen to you a lot, since pvp in this game is all about rewarding dps (how original, i know).

These people are like the leechers helping you after you cleared the flag, they will come and capture it with you just to get the +300, even if it means putting the whole match in danger, just because "HEY I WANT MAH REWARDZ" and the +30 glory and 1 silver it might mean.

Agreed, this is even more apparent when you're not always trying to get first place, like myself, who am more interested in kill count (head hunter, bloodthirsty) and keeping the enemy team on its toes (breaking their rhythm is crucial).

Look this is your thread and its about a pvp cleric. I am not going to knock you for posting this information or how you play your cleric. The cleric is effective at what it does, but you sir do not play well with others.

Your story up there is touching, it is. although it is false I understand your reasons for telling the story. No one wants to be discredited on their forum post. Others who pvp with you will understand your stories soon enough.

Oh what were you doing when you were trying to solo someone so far away from a point?
