With Gauntylgrym upcoming (once again) i really feel, we should get dual specs. My current spec on my GWF is meant for CC and sustain. This doesnt do so well in PvE. As a result im usually 3rd or 4th in dps. But when I pay the 2.30$ for the respec and switch to my dps spec, I am 1st but I just totally suck at PvP then. Right now I am stuck on a Hybrid PvP/PvE spec which is on my scale at 8/10 for PvP and 6/10 for PvE. This is for the GWF class. I have not played other classes yet and I am sure other classes would be having the same problem.
This would help the game evolve by seeing people trying new stuff like DPS cleric or ...tank rogue maybe?? dont know. Tank rogue sounds kinda vague but, yea DPS cleric!!! why not? I have talked to a couple of other players within my guild and a bunch of us feel that it would be great to have Dual Specs.
Could we please have a dual spec? Please bump if you feel the same.

Thanks,
Tazokh
It was mentioned hundred times and who disagree just has no clue.
WE NEED DUAL SPECS.
I believe it's the same for every class, one build is just better for PVP and other for PVE.
****, they can even sell it for reasonable ZEN amount if they want to..
Anyway, just another small thing showing amateurism of some cryptic decision makers.. I sometimes do not understand how bad can company design some things when it have been proven XX times that it is something a player base will ask for and require...
So many games failed by simply ignoring what players want in general.. Look at the FPS games that failed to hit the competitive scene.. (New RTCW< ET:QW and many others) Like they do not understand that players need a spectator mode, vote options, clan tags whatever else...
Then they release a product without those, will all this marketing HAMSTER how it will be a NEW competitive game and they completely fail within one week. And then they are wondering what is wrong? I can tell you what is wrong, you completely blindly ignore major things that the forum is full off.
I am not saying Cryptic & NWO is the same, but we can already find few identical examples like this dual spec..
I have two level 60 clerics each with different specs. The first I hate playing in PvP but it does well in PvE, the second is a lot more fun to play in PvP but its all wrong for PvE unless I want everyone to get mad at me when I tell them we need to get a cleric.
No.. This game does not need dual spec... That's completely against D&D
What this game needs is a better AI. PVE should be played like PVP. No thousands adds around you and enemies you can kill with two shots... If you are in a party with 4 people, then the map should spawn 4 monsters which matches your GS and skill levels. They should be intelligent enough that you think you are playing against real humans.
That's the only way it should go... Not this dual **** stuff

This is why D&D must evolve and become up to date. A dual spec would be nice.
We understand that you left WoW and came here to try this game, but that doesn't mean it will become like it.
The bad thing about dual spec is that some gears will be restricted to PVP and some others to PVE. Which means you wont be able to use your favorite gear in PVP as it is restricted to PVE for example, and that will limit the builds you want to make for PVP for example Since you are restricted to certain type of gear.
Since always... Show me the rules that a wizard for example can change its school spec for a situation like "ah i'm fighting orcs I'm illiusionist now, then ah I'm fighting trolls I'm conjurer now".
What you have in D&D are multi-classes... Like Fighter-Wizard or Cleric-Monk or Fighter-Mage-Druid.
Then you have prestige classes like the arcane archer or the sword dancer.
But those are not the dual spec people are crying about... What they want are multiple specs for different parts of the game... PVE = spec 1, PVP = spec 2. And that without any negative effects.

WTF are you even talking about? Multiple spec changes for characters is a good thing for all players. Nobody is trying to turn Neverwinter into WoW just because people want to be able to switch specs without having to respec everytime. Having multiple specs also has absolutely nothing to do with gear, so you're once again talking out your as$.
The only reason why Neverwinter doesn't have the feature of letting players switch to multiple saved specs is because of MONEY. They want players to keep spending $$$/Zen/AD to respec. If they allowed us to have multiple specs, then their respec revenue would dry up fast. But I do agree that this game needs this feature. It's a pain in the as$ to have to respec for PvP, PvE, and other roles you want to play but can't because we're so limited.
Guys seriously stop coming with those this is a D&D and this is against D&D HAMSTER..
If this would be a D&D we would have 100x more abilities to choose from and that's just one example.. I can tell you that there is too much things missing from the D&D that we cannot really come with this argument.

You are very short sighted.
This is a free to play game, if they allow you to use 2 builds at the same time will mean they have to release exclusive gears for PVP and PVE separately else players will complain on forums saying " oh my god , i want more gears for PVP , the PVE ones isnt efficient with my build !".
So far we are very limited on the gears, Dual spec will require more gears for more Builds variety.
And ofcourse they will have to be restricted to where they will be used.

Are you seriously this stupid? Guardians and GWFs both have multiple gear sets for offensive and tanking roles. Other classes don't but can easily buy and switch to different jewelry sets with different Enchants socketed or other sets of gear, so they can be better optimized for PvP or PvE. Cryptic doesn't have to create more gear because they already have multiple gear sets for multiple roles in the game ALREADY.
Again, you have no clue wtf you're even talking about and your reasoning behind not wanting the option for multiple specs is simply HAMSTER.

Keep on dreaming, it will never happen ^^.
They are making money from the specing, and again this is a free to play game. They need to make money and you are suggesting a way to lessen their profit. Since people will use the respec tokens less and less since they will have 2 builds anyways.

Logical fail or a bridge dweller?
Either way, Cryptic are losing money from this policy at the moment as hardly anyone will pay to respec each time, and it is in fact hurting their profits as this type of lazy oversight drive players away. So since it is actually in their monetary interest to at least have separate PvE and PvP spec I think they decide to allow soon(TM).....
There is not even 2+ paragon paths yet for each class.
Anyways PvP in this game is just for fun, its not competitive whatsoever. PvP will have to be played with PvE builds in gauntlyrm.

100x more abilities will come later maybe.. Who knows... I just think Cryptic is too small to get the job done in such a short period...

Nope, I've respec'd around 4 times till now for optimization between PvP and PvE. if i had 2 separate builds, i would have respec'd only once when i had the free token ^^.
and my friends also respec'd for more than 3 times and still planning to.

A) I never said that there weren't ANY suckers, just that it is hard to find enough of them. And all but the most gullible eventually wise up....
Learn the difference between short-term profits and long-term losses please.......

Your point doesn't make sense.
No one is being driven away because of no dual specs, only the 10 ~20 people whining on forums because NW isn't like their beloved WoW.
The game is making tons of profit from respecing, i cant tell you how much people from my guild / Friend list are respecing everytime they think of a better build that goes for PvE and PvP.
now that i have two separated builds , how is that going to make the company win more from respecing if i'm going to respec waaay less?

And we're proud you have the disposable income. All of us do not, however. DCUO has this feature, and before it became "pay us to progress in the game at all with reset tokens", it was one of the best F2P games on the market. Personally, I'm getting tired of the "But they're a BUSINESS!" bullcrap people keep crying about. We understand they need money. The $30 companions and the $200 Dark Elves they're going to be holding hostage for 4 months straight have already told us that.
Frankly, I won't expect such kindness from the devs. Unless it has something they can milk in it, they aren't going to give us HAMSTER.
I can understand gating a lot of things behind money, but this one I find incredibly hard to swallow. Yes, Neverwinter is shooting itself in the foot by not having dual or triple specs from the very start (I could actually understand unlocking another spec for Zen). It's a must-have feature these days for any MMO that offers multiple ways to build one's character, especially when you want to optimize for different tasks (mainly of the PvE/PvP variety).

Just make an alt and farm it's gear with your main and go Full PvP build with it.

Because the overall gains from a few suckers are far less than the amount they are losing from the much larger number of people whom they drive away.
I get that you spent a lot of money on respecs and desperately need to defend this viewpoint, but for those of us interested in the long-term health of this game, (and this really should include PWE unless it is meant to be a pure short-term cash grab from gullible people) then having dual specs is a very positive step.
