Clerics get a fraction of what damage dealing classes get on event days

It sickens me to hear that clerics aren't allowed to heal themselves much cause they spend less on health potions when event day drops are based upon kills, which means the damage dealing classes get way more drops and wealth than clerics get. Can't heal self in game or in PvP for some lame excuse as gold, while non cleric classes up their health easily through dailies and attacking.

They should add a 40% damage buff to righteousness so other classes don't get a gold advantage over the cleric.

+1 and I play GF I've done this event and DC's are a life saver.

At least you guys still have a place in every Dungeon. People are starting to realise you still don't actually need a tank.

You're joking right.
Rewards from the event aren't based on kills. If you do ANY damage to the mob, you get the same chance at a drop from it as anyone else.
Any level 20 cleric is better off in this event than a level 60 GF or TR.
Use Sunburst, Chains, Glow, Daunting Light.... ANY of your AoE skills.

a good cleric is a strong ranged AOE bomb class and can really trash the zombie invasion event, tagging (if not outright killing) nearly every mob that spawns. Not only is the aoe ranged, it hits more than 5 targets at once (idiotic limit on melee aoe).

Healing... in this game.... is an issue but its not preventing you from getting loot. Its a lot better than nearly ZERO healing for everyone else.

Also, gold is not wealth. Gold is virtually worthless, all you buy with it are injury kits and those only if you do difficult group content a lot. An hour of solo play here and there more than covers this, or doing leadership quests. Gold just piles up ... no use for it.

Couple of times in the event, 3 clerics put chains on the spawn portal at once, mobs spawn and die instantly, and ONLY the clerics get any loot.

clerics will also fair way lower on the dungeon rating charts, which means they don't get as good as rewards, nor do they tend to win blue items in PvP as often

that is BS from what I can tell, if I do damage in the mobs but don't get kills I don't tend to get anything at all, perhaps on the bosses I might but upon nothing else, but even if what you claim is true playing around CW's often mean they kill everything enmass before you even get an attack, especially if they keep setting endless avalanche

I do see a noticeable difference between how much I get in event areas when there isn't as many high damage dealers around compared to when there is. They one shot mass kill everything and I get nothing. In contrast I one shot mass kill about nothing, so they get their shots in when I kill.

The trick is to have as many of them running around so everyone can have a few hits in. But mostly there are way too many trigger happy AoE spammers that just wipe out everything in one or two uncontrolled blasts.

That leaves everyone with nothing to hit, so no drops, maybe one for the spammer.

I found with my CW the best rate was with Icy Terrain and Chilling Cloud and only make huge explosions when we are getting overwhelmed. Just low level AoE damage and let the grunts do the running ;)

TIP:
Those scrolls you get do only little damage, but in a wide area and last a decent while. It's a nice way for any level to get some damage in.

Regardless of class, if you have a fast mount and just run around capping points, you will be on top of about 7/10 games. Of course this is boring as all get out.

I will say on my CW I can do the same thing and pretty much get top score on every game. Just swing by the big fight while flipping points and get some bonus kills.

We tested this yesterday, and in fact, our healers and tanks got on average about 1/2 the drops as the dps classes. Simply 'tagging' a mob with damage is not sufficient.

So basically Cryptic is adding yet another reason not to play anything other than a DPS......

Well, the drops are mostly savage enchants which give armor penetration. What does a healer do with armor penetration?

thanks for the tested feedback... and I'm also guessing the enchantment rank is also affected

there aren't any healers in this game... if you think there are you haven't seen the HAMSTER spells that this game calls healing (any health potion will heal you for more and faster)

We didn't specifically track this, but our mage commonly get up to 4 rank 4 per match, where my healer gets about 1 rank for every 4 matches.

Indeed.. pointless to fight others in this form of "pvp" even more so for a healing class that cant really heal (how would he if ppl oneshot or twoshot eachother constantly ^^) Hope something changes there, else i either turn into a botter :p or just only "pvp" for the daily if i have to.. atleast random Queue..

Anyway,as for the event.. clerics still have it better then TRs from what i experienced on mine atleast.. So meh,its more AoE rules over Single target, this time.. anything else is clearly dps > heals..

So, it's exactly like every other system in the game, then.

And people wonder why it's hard to find a cleric when they want to run dungeons.

mine rarely gets rank 4's, usually has to combine rank 3's... its at level 60 and has decent cleric gear

As a cleric I often wondered how people have level 6 enchantments, neverless level 7's and higher unless they are shelling out lots of cash... but it may just be its cause clerics get next to nothing in drops relative to the other classes

makes you wonder how screwed over low damage classes such as the cleric is in terms of treasure, enchantments, and all around wealth all the time they are leveling up and how this likely makes the cleric even less competitive at level 60 due to lack of comparative gear unless cash bought

as far as playing around a mage, I hate it as a cleric in the event area, they do so much damage and kill so fast I barely get any drops relative to when they aren't around

Ive been playing a level 40 Cleric without any issue on this event. Now while i've yet to get a blue dog. Ive had no problems getting bags or enchants. And this has been mostly sticking to busier areas filled with level 60s.

Me thinks someone is doing it wrong.

what level of enchants are you receiving and how many of them are high level... this question is what we have been trying to address here ... at level 60 I'm coming nowhere close to 4 level 4's per instance that mages evidently are able to get

Ive been getting anywhere from 1 to 4 bags per round. Dropped enchants have varied from rank 1 to 4 as well. I have currently enough rank 4s to make at least one rank 8.

And i've only been doing this a few hours a night, for the last 3 nights. Hardly grinding by anyone's standards.

I just leech from the battle when i'm tired lol... The drop 100% will spawn right under your feet (for Hulk & Wright) even if you did not hit any of em... the rune's rank however i'm not sure as it looks pretty much random to me...

Apparently, u can get blue dog from the bag too (got 2 yesterday. both from the bag). So you should try your luck there :)

evidently you are doing something right cause I can only make two rank 6's, though it didn't help that around 57 of 60 attempts from rank 4 to 5 failed (60% success rate, yeah right)

I noticed something different today. If I just dont fight at all, I get the same loot I do if I fight. I am not in a party.

I'm the same way, I never win item rolls anymore. Might as well not be part of any group, sure wouldn't affect what I get any.
