I've seen some real 1 sided Fights and because I play as a guardian it is mor so than some of the other characters. Unless I make a 1 type only character the game becomes almost impossible for single player boss fights.
The lightning that boss throws in the outpost. not only am I frozen to the spot once it hits but it takes me from FULL Health to 0 health in 1 shot. It is not the only boss fight i've never been able to finish but it is the worst. I've been playing games since Ultima 1 and except for 1 or 2 exceptions this is the most 1 sided game I've ever played.
Too many companies that make these online games want you to make a 1 type character, you can't have a normal mixed skilled character because you can't survive it. Heck Diablo2 allowed Rangers using a bow but you could not kill the bosses with one. but you could with a barbarian or Paladin. This is just as bad. From full health to 0 and this is supposed to be for a single player even with the companion we both were killed outright by him and with his cronies around and him making more all the time you can't evade, kill them first and get hit by lightning before you can. Like I said My character is a normal mixed like any REAL hero would be , true hero's aren't a single minded only use 1 way or they could never survive.
Nope I don't need the aggravation and I've already seen how much they care how players feel. how long before anyone can get an answer to a question. heck they are worse than the chat and you can wait and repeat for hours before anyone will answer you most of the time and the chat is live!
May the Good Lord keep you always in His Loving Arms
It's perfectly doable. I learned that it hits hard after the first time I died. The second time I was lazy and tried to block it instead of moving. Third time got it. I don't know if you're just bashing your head against it or something.

GF too. He is hard, and first time the 'shock' got me too - total shield & dwarf melt down.
You CAN knock him off his feet though, I had to run bulls charge and into the fray (I have bad ping & the speed helps heaps) to get him.
And he soaks my ever so white clerics armor with my blood in seconds...ick. I wont even bother now unless i arrive with a posse.
Great game overall. I wonder how fast they will correct the overpowered dungeon bosses, especially this one that is necessary to complete to continue obtaining XP till 60....when an game with equally awesome graphics arrives with much more polish.

I'll be honest with you, I actually had to look this one up.
I barely remember doing it with my GF, but that is because I found the entirety of the Whispering Caverns so easy with him compared to all of my other characters.
Just don't stand in the Big Red Circles or Cones and you will be fine.
As A Guardian Fighter you are MORE durable than all the other classes, not INDESTRUCTIBLE. If you are as commited to fluid build as you claim, then this should actually be an easy fight for you. As in all things in Life, Let Monty Python be your Guide: ADAPT. ADOPT. IMPROVE.
I also did not see a description of what kind of Gear you are using, what Artifacts you have, if any, or what LvL you are currently, and I cannot for the life of me remember what LvL I was when I beat that mission. I THINK it was somewhere around LvL 60.
Just keep in mind here, you CHOSE to play a Class that specialists in DEFENSE, not Offense, or Movement, or anything else. If, while you were Leveling, you further CHOSE to tailor your Character even further towards Defensive specialization then you WILL need to play with a group. Because you CHOSE to create a character specifically designed to thrive in Group Play rater than Solo.
Honestly, it sounds to me like what you really want is a Melee Generalist, not a Specialist like the Guardian Fighter or Trickster Rogue.
That would be the Great Weapons Fighter, not the Guardian Fighter.
You may want to chalk this entire Character up to a Learning Experience and start over again with a Great Weapons Fighter. Pass your Cash and tradable Items (Runes, Enchants, Etc.) over and give yourself a bit of a leg up.
Hope this helps.

Probably not, you are responding to a year old post. Still, it was good advice, shame the OP is highly unlikely to ever read it.
@&$^ I actually missed the Date on the thing
Well, it was an excuse to take a break from some Paperwork I'm in the middle of, so I'll just chalk that up as a Win.

Necromancy is not an allowed practice here. As well, despite it slipping through the cracks the first time, I'd just like to reiterate a few rules worth mentioning.
. . . . We're sorry to see you go, but please keep your goodbyes to PMs or in game messages. These threads do not contribute to the community discussion and generally end in hate or flames. Threads and Posts that purvey one quitting or the threat of quitting are considered "I Quit" threads and posts.
Rule 3.12 - No All Caps
. . . . On the Internet, a word or words in all caps signifies shouting. Titles and threads containing All Caps shall be locked, edited or removed at Moderator discretion.
Rule 3.13 - No Necromancy
. . . . If a thread has not been posted on in over thirty days, it likely contains out of date information or opinions. If you would like to continue such a discussion, please create a new thread to do so, or find an existing "living" one.
Rule 3.15 - No Petitions, Ultimatums or Hostile Demands
. . . . Please keep feedback constructive and within a format for Community Discussion. Disallowed topics include things like, "Please Nerf This Class" and anything without the direction of a constructive Community Discussion.
The subject line has been adjusted accordingly, despite remaining locked.
