I'm going to save my respec token for awhile. Speaking of that, it really chaffs my *** that they didn't wipe out our feats/powers/abilities AND give us the coin. With just the token, yes, we can change our spec, but we have to pay to go back to the original if we don't like the change. If they reset our abilities by default, we could try the new spec, then use the free coin to come back. I know it's all about the green, but c'mon man.

Yeeep made this point in another thread but more people are going to purchase tokens with 1 free respec already. Builds aren't in place, people are experimenting, people'll need to readjust after the first respec either to go back to their original build or make tweaks upon experimentation.

This may help the theory crafting. If you want to test builds ... Hit your Respec button on live .. DO NOT spend points ... copy character to test ... rinse / repeat

Does anyone know if the Disciple of Strength and Armor Specialization feats actually work? I can not find where they change any number on my character screen at all. For instance, my AC, Defense, and % Damage Resistance were all exactly the same prior to and after dropping 3 points into Armor Specialization for the supposed 15% bonus. Someone please tell me I'm just not looking in the right place...because feeling like I have wasted 6 points really sucks.

Additionally, I don't see where the capstone feat Sentinel's Aegis changes any number either. Where can I see the benefits of these feasts on the character pane?

Armor Specialisation and Sentinel's Aegis both work, and both do not show on character sheet. Go to any pve encounter, have a mob hit you, then look into combat log, you will see damage_after_mitigation (damage_before_mitigation), divide them and substract from one and you wikl know what mitigation you really have (should be up to 12% higher flat than what the sheet shows).

I've always wanted to tank on the GWF, off-tank or main-tank whichever is viable.
My question now lies on which armor to use.
With all the deflection you can get from the following sources:
    dex = 4-5%
    scale agility = 5%
    weapon master 3/3 (feated 5 stacks) = 15%
    bravery 3/3 = 15%

    roughly 40% deflection before gear.
I'm starting to think that Vigiliant Warlord's set might be of better use to the sentinels for the Recovery, decent Defense and Regen it gives. Not to mention you'll have a bit more power for "little" more aggro, which doubles up as some damage via Deep Gash.

And if you get Disciple of War instead of Defiance you can get ~300 ArPen also, just by using full Vigilant Warlord. 5% damage resistance and 20% runspeed for catching loose mobs from the 4/4 set is not bad either.

What you do you guys think? Better to use 4/4 Vigilant Warlord, 4/4 Titan or 2/4 + 2/4?

Also, is Defiance needed to tank? or can you hold aggro with Intimidation alone?

Well, tank decided to quit normal Spellplague so I was the "tank". 2 rogues, and a cleric and I. :o No threat abilities. Ran bravery/wms for the defensive buff and I have the shadowfel sword, which is BiS until 60. 2 good rings and allright gear for the rest of the slots. Ran Roar, IBS and Restoring strike for my encounters, and wms/ws for threading skills. Dailies I went with slam and savage advance for the interrupt.

approx. 8.8million damage from me with the rogues pulling up below the 7 million mark. 300 more kills and while by no means did I manage to keep all mobs off people, I still kept a fair amount of aggro.

For when I hit lvl60, I have 2 aboleth rings for 200 of defense/deflection/recovery/power. One is slotted with a rank7 savage currently. Weapon I have a Reaver for the 200 defense/deflection. I've got 2/2 Vigilant with Vigilant scale and I chose 2/2 Bladestorm for a reasonable boost in dps over that of Titan, while only being a modest reduction in defense. Imho, vigilant scale was better then Bladestorm scale.

During PVP low levels, spinning strike can be noticable for damage reduction.

As a sentinel spec'd GWF I am curious if any of the OPs to this thread have new info post update on what they've found most appealing. I am still holding at 39 for pvp since I enjoy it but will eventually finish leveling off to 60 and have to spend the rest of the points. Since I'm pvp specc'd I admit I spent the first 8 points of Paragon in Instigator for the extra HP on Unstoppable and .6s stun on Fourish.

From there I've been working on the debuff on crits from Sentinel and trying to decide where to go from there. Ideally my goal is to be able to be offtank in groups and of course pvp.
    A beautiful death awaits you...
