All my characters wiped...

So I patch the game and log back in, everything is gone what the heck ? ><

    maybe you logged on test server instead live?

    How do I even do that ? I started the launcher, typed my login info in... it takes me to an empty character selection screen...

    Did you share your account information with anyone? Perhaps use the same account password as you use on other games/websites?

    Have you checked you logged into the right shard? There are several being Beholder, Mindflayer, Dragon and the Preview.
    I'm always friendly and will be happy any of your inquires via pm!
    However i'm not a part of PWE and can't handle any questions regarding your personal details or account.
    Please respect the forum ToS and keep a nice manner towards your fellow adventurers!

    You don't have to troll here with your hacking stuff... if the IP adress is different the device (computer) would have to be validated through email code... I haven't received any email about this today... And also a hacker wouldn't deleted char, just steal what he can and let me refarm more so they have a free gold farmer.

    I never share my login info with anyone... and I only play from home, my wifi network is protected by WPA2-PSK... my info aren't written anywhere either... and as I said earlier their login system checks the device or IP and sends an email to verify it...

    On the patcher when you log in. Above the patcher progress bar, there are two tabs that say server.
    Neverwinter and Neverwinter test

    Make sure you are on Neverwinter and not Neverwinter test.

    ^What this person said check to see the list of shards.
    Also if there is only one option and it is called Mimic then that is the Preview shard.

    I feel like being HAMSTER... I have been trying to find this shard option in both the launcher windows and the game itself... still cannot find it Oo

    Above the patching progress bar there are two shards you can select. Make sure you are not on the Neverwinter Preview one.

    Hmmm...I can't bring up my character list on the gateway today. It keeps timing out. Makes me wonder about my account, too.

    Thanks god I am not alone... Can we expect anyone from PW to actually read this, or the support button to work ?

    Hi Everyone,

    If you wind up getting a redirect loop when trying to use our support website and need to contact us, there are a few current work choices for this known issue:

    1) Create a new PWE account and use that to submit and update your tickets.

    2) Or, send us an email to email

    3) Or, log out completely, then try the support page, or try it with a different browser.

    It has something to possibly do with a database issue with the Rightnow system and ours. Hopefully it gets fixed soon!

    As for which e-mail address to send to... 2 are listed in that Support thread -
    customerservice@perfectworld.com
    customersupport@perfectworld.com

    And if nothing else, contact DarthPanda over there and he may be able to help you get the ball rolling...

    Thanks for the contact info. Looks like I got lucky this time and won't need it, though. I closed my browser and reloaded the gateway fresh, and now it's finally working. Hope something like that works for you, too kitchup

    Also, the PWE network is being iffy today. Engineers are aware of this, though.

    If you are being defaulted to the wrong shard then your game preferences file may be corrupted.

    Find the \Neverwinter\Live\localdata folder. Inside you will find a gameprefs.pref file. Open in notepad and look for the "PrefEntry Login.LastShard" entry. See if it lists the correct shard. If it does, the file may just be corrupted. Try deleting it, renaming the extension to .old or moving it to someplace else.

    If it does not, you can either get rid of the file as above or try editing it to point to the right shard.

    If you delete that file the game will create you a new one with default settings, so it is safe to do.

    I did this, it made a new one but nothing has changed so far... I don't think it has smth to do with the shards though. When I logged in today it asked me if I had a cryptic account, I pressed no and It asked me to chose a Crypstic display name so I did... Maybe it messed up somthing ? :( I appreciate your help though ! thanks.

    Perhaps I am reading something wrong or missing something but this here indicates to me that you just created a new account which would explain why you have no characters.

    I logged on the main neverwinter website with those same login/pwd, went to my zen purchase history and the 70€ I spent are there, so it is NOT a new account. I have also been logging in for 2 weeks with this account I have a lvl 60 nearly 9K GS ...

    I have no idea how why what happened... I logged in normaly and it asked me if I wanted to merge my PWE account with an existing Cryptic one, I pressed NO so they asked me to create a Cryptic Display name... on the PW Website my name is Kitchup, on the launcher it is Enyndel (the cryptic display name I just chose)... I have no clue what is going on -_-

    I remember going through that when PWE first acquired Cryptic... Which is why my login and @handle are totally different LOL.

    I'd definitely e-mail CS. And even go ahead and post to the Tech Support forums.

    I have emailed them about an hour ago, it seems they are busy at this time ^^

    Wait time on CS tickets is over one week at this time :(

    I believe it only shows up if you signup for the Preview Test Shard.
