I got the notice that NW will be going live soon so I decided to check out the founders packs. I saw the price for the Hero of the North pack and laughed. Honestly that price is ridiculous for virtual things. Then I noticed one particular thing included in the pack that is not included in any other pack.

VIP GAME ACCESS
When loads are high, jump to the head of the queue and get priority log-in access. (account unlock)

This is terribly unfair. Basically you are saying pay us enough money and we will give you an unfair advantage over other people who can't afford to pay. It sounds exactly like a politician. As it is an F2P game will never be as great as a subscription game. From what you were boasting in the beginning I was hoping you would be making changes to the F2P format to start a new and better standard.

I have to say this is the worst feature I have ever seen a f2p or subscription game include in any package. I had planned on buying one of the founders packs as $60 or so is about what you would pay to buy a physical game from the store. Since seeing this I have decided not give any of my money to Perfect World.

Since when has this game had a queue?

EVen when they go live it won't have a queue.

There is nothing to worry about. It's the 2mil AD that can basically 'I WIN' for paid VIP's is the killer to the game, not head of the line privileges..

I wouldnt worry, can you actually see there ever being a queue to log into this game?
I mean apart from the open beta launch i dont think this games main priority is handling load anymore..

Wow. People will ***** and moan about anything won't they? Dude, stop crying. You won't even notice people getting ahead of you in the queue, and if they have well applaud them if they have priority-access, why? Because they've invested in the game to help bring you more content.... Honestly. Let PW make some money for criminity's sake without harassing them.

Hey, did you know even theme parks have this sort of thing? Buy a more expensive ticket to the park and get cuts to the head of the lines via a separate VIP line. Theme parks, unlike almost all MMOs have queues lasting in the hours to get on a ride that's 5mins tops where MMOs you can be logged in all day if you wish to.

Also, there were queues... on dragon only... on day one of open beta. Since then, no waiting at all.

Did you know you can pay $50 bucks and get ahead of the line of rides in Disney parks ? Disney employees knows about it and yet the just turn a blind eye to it. The world is inherently unfair.

There hasn't been a wait to log on for like 6 weeks. By day two, it all pretty much ended. Talk about making something out of nothing.

I stopped playing/paying DCUO when I found out paying players did not go to the front of the queue.

Waiting in a queue is a pain. And it's a million times worse in free to play games. So, paying to go to the front, awesome.

This does not make the game "pay to win".

You are aware the Queue they are referring to is the log-in queue. And not dungeon or skirmish queues. It is a log-in priority bonus only. And considering there have been no log-in back ups for weeks now. It really seems a non-issue.

I'm not sure if you're trolling but as other people have said, there aren't really waits. Further, you won't be kicked out of the game to make room for a founder, just have to wait a bit longer if the game is really busy.

This is pretty fair, because once you and the founder are in the game, this particular perk doesn't give a founder any advantage over you. It rewards the founder without imbalancing the game or making it pay to win.

To be clear, unless you exploited, you didn't make 3 mil in a week. You traded with people who bought AD from the founder's packs. There's a trickle down effect from p2w. There's the first tier people who p2w, then there's another tier of people who trade with them.

The effect can't reach out to everyone, but each p2w player boosts a few people around them. It's better than strict p2w, but it does mean that there's a tier of people who don't have the luck, items, or skill to trade with p2w. Those are the true lower class in Neverwinter, the people who are grinding a few thousand AD a day, can't buy anything good, and are crushed in pvp and outclassed in pve.

Imagine it like a chess game. In regular chess, everyone has the same pieces. In p2w, you can buy better chess pieces. In Neverwinter's model, you can buy some better pieces directly, but there's also a market to trade. If you can get in on that, you don't have to pay, but you get some of the benefits from p2w. However, the only people who can afford high priced AD items are those who directly purchased AD or traded for those who did, not the people who are earning AD. The end result is that the traders and p2w have a bunch of queens on their board, while the regular players are outpriced and have the regular pieces. Some of the people with all queens claim it's a fair game. Some of the traders, oddly enough, don't understand the economics of trading and think they actually "made" 3 mil instead of trading it from people who bought it.

The truth is that not everyone could trade for 3 mil in a week ... unless there were 3 top tier founders for every 2 traders. Oh, and the 3 founders would have to each lose 2 mil a week to make it work.

Of course, if you actually went out in dungeons and found ~3300 items in a week and sold those for 1000 AD each to people, then yes, you actually made 3 mil AD using the game, rather than simply benefiting from p2w.

Imagine if p2w didn't give zen or ad, but simply gave you the ability to outfit 2 other people with good gear. When you outfitted them, your gear also improved. It doesn't really help anyone else, but the 3 of you have good stuff. That might help you conceptualize how Neverwinter p2w works.

It's hilarious all the "have you ever seen a queue to get in the game".
First of all, yes, on open beta release day.
Second of all; they can enforce queue times whenever they want. So if they want you to pay to get inside the game, they can make that happen.

UM are you naive? F2P is the new MMO standard if a new MMO is released and required a subscription people will not play it. Statistics have show companies make MORE money with a F2P game with micro transactions then most games did with a subscription. F2P is the new standard norm, but with that said F2P does not distinguish a game as a subpar MMO compared to a Sub game, this statement alone made me laugh at how naive you are.

The game did have a queue at the beginning of open Beta.
Wether it goes back to that again I do not know.
I do know that Dc Universe has a queue and also lock boxes (nothing new there), but the queue for free to play was a few minutes.
IF it does become a feature for those who became Founders I will not complain.
