Some humans say that hatred is what defines a drow; they say it makes us who we are. This sort of stupidity is typical of the lesser races. They are not subtle. They are too quick to make a decision, or draw a conclusion. They can not wait for long.
What defines a drow? It is the struggle to be the best and to rise to the highest station possible, because your life is dedicated to proving the purity of drow perfection. Each drow strives to be the most beautiful, the strongest, the most skilful, the richest or the most powerful. The mightiest of us can be all of these things.
But what makes a drow? It is how we get to that high station. We are the people of the spider, because like the spider we weave webs, all manner of nets, snares and traps to bring our prey to us and to further our ambitions. We are patience. We are not hasty. We have planned a long time for this, and you have arrived exactly as we intended.
