I want to know why you haven't taken the time to put an end to preclears for Dungeon Delves. If this is an expectable mode of gameplay then PWE should come out and state it as much so that those of us who would like to retain our accounts and not take a chance of being banned know what our options are. If it is not expectable gameplay then you should take action and fix the bugg that lets players log out and then back in to initiate the Dungeon Delves chest.
Either way your player base should be informed if this is expectable or not and also be informed of the consequences of doing so.
Personally I see it as an exploit being used for personal gain in an unintentional/unintended manner.
Would you be so kind as to link to your source for this statement?

A dev already said it's okay to preclear, and the wording on the Dungeon Delve event will be fixed to reflect that, as it's not considered an exploit. He did say that pulling bosses away from where they spawn adds is an exploit, but even though it's an exploit, it's not something they'd ever ban players for taking advantage of this specific exploit.

Thank you for your posts, at least now I know I can take advantage of the preclear. I wasn't looking to be a martyr, I just don't want to be a Exploiter cheater. If you have a problem with that then maybe you are ok with being a cheater in which case I don't care to play the game with you anyways
Not sure why you'd be on about this in the first place. How would this be an exploit in the first place? If it was, it's an obvious one, and all they'd have to do is lock DD until the event actually starts. But, we all know what happens with the queue system so that would be suicide for it as a daily. Not an exploit, thanks for the links.

Because I can read and comprehend what I read. and the DD doesn't say specifically say that it is ok to run the dungeon and wait for the DD to pop and then relog to get the chest available .
And again I prefer not to play the game with exploiters/ cheaters.
Pretty simple really.

Honestly, thats lame. This is an intended function? So if the even starts at 4pm I have to be on at 3pm to form a group (cuse everyone else and their grandmother is doing so) to preclear a dungeon? Then wait till event pops and relog to get the chest?? How is this an intended mechanic? Why doesn't the game just give you the chest for being IN the instance when the event starts?
Frankly that's disconcerting the devs consider this intended. It's laughable really.

Because it's totally normal in a video game to force your players to LOG OUT of the game and then back in to get a reward as an intended mechanic.
It seems to me this was NOT intended, simply a by product of poor design and they are saying it's "intended" as a easy fix.
By pre-clear I would think that it would be alright to start the dungeon and either minutes after, or while doing it, the event pops up and then chest becomes available.

or you and your group can play the game as it was intended to be played. If you are on Mindflayer I would join you

You can do it normally. No problem at all cause NOT everyone does this. And the 'preclear team' still do the delves for 2nd/3rd time during event.

Its hard to find good groups in the que for DD because of the preclear option, I don't like it but if the devs say its cool at least I wont lose my account for doing so .

This, exactly.
It's painfully obvious this wasn't intended, no matter what a dev says (not as if devs don't make mistakes).

Like the dailies, invoking and professions, the specified event times are meant to keep you logged in for long periods doing repetitive tasks for relatively little reward. We should be able to run dungeons when we want without having to chase the extra enhanced chest during limited windows of time each day.

The DD reward isn't 'little'. It's arguably the only event truly worth doing. Things are a bit skewed now though because of the large amount of epics that made it into the game due to exploits.

Or more likely we're seeing the effects of a project still under development and what's supposed to happen is that if you're in a dungeon when DD starts it automatically switches modes without having to relog. This means that relogging is simply a work around for a problem that may/should no longer be needed at some point.

No, because the event description explicitly states otherwise.

the thing about preclear is, you still need to kill the boss after u log in, not just get the chest. (from what i have experienced)

No it doesn't and we have direct public statements from the development team saying that the text is confusing (and it can be read the way you suggest), but not accurate.

No, the text is perfectly clear.

Honestly, they should just make each dungeon only clearable once per character per day and get rid of the event shenanigans.

I think its perfectly reasonable and a pretty good mechanic, albeit one that's not clear to new players.

It really should be fixed at some point along with the other hundreds of things that need fixing:rolleyes:.
