Ring question

Preface - we have no Armor Penetration on any of our T2 set pieces, and I personally believe we have to get to 20% for PVE, based on not much evidence yet. But please don't reply with armor pen sucks or some such.

So - to get the 2000ish armorpen we need for 20% reduction, we have 2 weapons, 2 rings, belt, shirt and pants.

My question is - take the gear with the good stat mix (crit/recovery/armorpen) but that have defensive slots, or take the ones with power for the offensive slots.

I've just started looking so it could be that I'm missing something important. Please edumacate me :)

For context, I'm starting to get T2 gear and realizing how much armor pen I'm about to lose from taking off my PvP gear :\

What i am going for and believe would be BiS (except enchants which can go higher) is:
    • SwashBuckling set.
    • 2x CN daggers. (with 185 Ar.P enchants)
    • 3x Ancient Slavemaster's Ring of Control (with 185 Ar.P enchants)
      - 154 Power
      - 154 Critical Strike
      - 154 Recovery
    • 2x Ancient Excorcist's Necklace of Blessing (with 185 Ar.P enchants)
      - 154 Power
      - 154 Critical Strike
      - 154 Armor Penetration
    • Not sure about belt but im using Ancient Fugitive's Belt of Revolt
      - 616 hp
      - 154 Critical Strike
      - 154 Armor Penetration
    • Gemmed Exquisite Shirt (with 185 Ar.P enchant)
      - 77 Power
      - 92 Critical Strike
      - 77 Armor Penetration
      - 35 Defense
    • Gemmed Exquisite Pants
      - 77 Power
      - 92 Critical Strike
      - 77 Armor Penetration
      - 35 Defense
    • (If you are using a cat) Smiting Nefarious Belt (with 185 Ar.P enchant)
      - 243 Power
      - 133 Critical Strike

Adding up those Armor Pen = 2281. Which is more than what we need (Should stop at 22%) so you can drop one enchant for something else instead. Note you still have room to put two more offensive enchants on your pet and a defensive one.

I use 3x Berserkers ring with 154 power/ 154 ARP / 154 Life leach and i have two with +185 ARP and one with 185 power on my cat. I have capped ARP/Crit/Recovery so the only extra stats to dump in were life leach and power. Don't neglect life leach, i run with 11% and can keep myself fully healed on all boss fights easily, i gain 30% of my health each lashing blade and 40% each duelist flurry rotation.

you need 3 Pyrotechnic Band and 2 blue belt with 243 arp(with a +5 rune offense) i am sitting at 2221 arp = 22% just with that.
    Basically you need a cat.
