So when some friends and I started this game, we all chose different classes. Well the cleric is taking forever to get 60, and we really need a healer. What's the fastest way for me to get my cleric up to 60? Foundry?
questing is really fast and easy if you have a friend to do it with, you can just storm through everything, especially once you get astral shield. PvP may take a friend or two more to be effective.
Leveling a cleric should be easier than leveling a GWF/GF based on the forums, anyway. Although, experience in MMOs has taught me that a cleric can get a group any time they want one, as a rule, I'm sure exceptions apply, unless they are bad. I know the main cleric player in my legion on another MMO had to make herself invisible, or she was spammed constantly with group invites.
Reading comprehension is essential in a medium that requires reading for communication.
I just finished leveling my cleric to 60. Took me around 30h in total I guess, you shouldn't waste time on dungeons as I did. I soloed my way to 52 and as my dps was pretty low at that point, I teamed up with anyone willing to do all the quests on each zone.
I can say cleric is easier to level than TR at least, I had no problems with dps until the last levels and the survivability is topnotch, even more as you level up.

PvP exp is bout 2x XP of quest if you win and same xp if you loose per round, but it's defo not faster than questing with friend. One PvP round can be long if teams are even. Questing with friend is a blitz. I did 15 lvls (32-47) in bout 4 hours like that.

Define forever? I've been leveling one up by going through the main story quests and overall I find it easier/quicker than the GF. I've done a few PvP matches for the dailies but I haven't really kept track of the XP gain so I cant compare it. I personally couldn't see myself leveling just via PvP especially with the bots and AFKers these days.

Took me less than 23 hours of play time leveling my cleric. Was my first character, and i solo did everything. Ignored dungeons, didnt waste time buying pots or buying anything, just used gear i found, and quested. 0 pvp. Pretty easy to level, i assume their may be a level increase eventually ( Since max cap is easy to reach ) So i have completed atleast 10 other quests, all ready to hand in instantly. And will keep doing it.
XP is fastest grinding quests and regular PvE content. If a mission tells you to kill 12 mobs, kill only 12, run back and get rewarded, continue in the chain, etc...
It's so monstrously fast I don't understand why everyone isn't 60 yet. I rarely play and have 2 60s without exploiting foundry

basically this ^
it only takes ~25 hours of steady play-time to do it

You know the leveling speed is too fast when you got impatient kids saying it's taking forever to reach cap in open beta lol!

You know you're dealing with an idiot forum poster when he thinks someone is a kid because his friend is slow at leveling.
I've been playing MMOs since 1999 and my friend is barely playing at all, so that is why I am starting a cleric. The others have been 60 for over a week and the cleric in question is 42. No go spout your drivel somewhere else.

Generally only kids would be this impatient to not be at level cap when still in open beta. So I would be embarrassed to post this if you are not.
Doesn't change the fact that this game's leveling is way to fast. If you played MMO's since 1999 then you would know this. Of course I'm not asking for a DAoC grind like that was in its first year.
And you sound like a MMO newby when you think all classes should all level same speed.

nectarprime you could get your "friends" to help you level even faster if you don't want to solo it, since they are 60 it will go quickly but you know this already as you have been playing mmo's since 1999

And like most MMOs, if you level with someone drastically higher level than you, you'll get majorly reduced XP, correct?

Irrelevant when it comes to quests. You get the same amount regardless.
Interesting. Well, I doubt anyone will want to waste their time on a lvl 60 to help me get 60 faster, but maybe I can get a friend to roll an alt as well.

If you are on mindflayer I'd be happy to party sometime if you would like to. I actually have a 41 Cleric
Cause I did. I have a 60 CW and 40 TR, and zomg they were fast to level! Then just the other day I made a DC and level 1 to 8 was crazy boring! I was falling asleep for how slow it was! Then I think it was level 9 or 10 where I finally got my TAB key ability and now I can 1-shot a group of non-elite mobs and things are a little faster now. But until I got my TAB key ability, it was so slow! I hope it doesn't become as slow again because I dunno if I'll make it!
Levelling a TR/CW and then levelling a DC is like if I bought a Lamborghini, drove it around, sold it, and then bought a used 20 year old Honda Civic. The damage dealth differences are huge!
IMHO I wish Cryptic could increase their DPS by a huge margin! I know some will complain that a class with healing + massive damage could become OP in PVP, but just work something out so players have to chose in between going full heals or full DPS, sorta like in WoW with a player who levels up as a Shadow Priest with great DPS but HAMSTER healing, or levelling as Discipline where they have bad DPS but good healing.

Nope, my first char is a GWF. So yeah I haven't even been able to get a Castle Never group.... just get kicked every time even though my GS is over 10k.
As for Clerics needing better DPS--- I would say it would be cool if they could be built like that, but I'm just interested in being able to heal and help a group survive.
Then just the other day I made a DC and level 1 to 8 was crazy boring...
DC damage sucks until around level 35 (I think) when you get Daunting Light, then you may just pee your pants a little... Even then its no TR, but for aoe it is really nice.

If you want great DPS, why not play a DPS class?

I have found by far, the absolute fastest way to level in this game is PVP.
I think this is what caused so many of the PVP AFK Issues. Many people discovered this, particularly PVE'rs that had no interest in PVP and used it to level in PVE. They weren't "Exploiting" they were just choosing not to participate.
Quite frankly, I don't blame anyone who does not like PVP using the system like they did for leveling their character for PVE. Perhaps a nice option in the future would be to have a more repeatable Skirmish type event that granted the same amount of PVE XP as the PVP matches do and can be done as frequently and in the same amount of time.
Or have a match where 5 Players fight against 5 AI Bots.

Considering you're level 5 when you finish the tutorial... Could it really have been THAT boring?
