Try to do it with a lvl 1 dagger, then screenshot again.

His point is why having armor with stats. When the power stat (lower) doesnt do anything to the dmg.

Most stats work fine, power is just mind-bogglingly bad. It's to the point where if you have power on an item, the stat might as well not even be there.

Whether or not this is intended, who knows. Awful design choice if it is, though.

But you have played a Rogue this much and still cant spell it? - this is the important question :P

That would explain all the naked CW's and TR's in PvP.

I used griffin strike on a naked rogue. It did as much dmg as it would have if he was wearing armor.

OP has discovered something everyone else knows. No doubt.

Can't wait to drop this pile for ESO

nice topic ;p seems to scale almost only with weapons yes ;p, so if you use that skill which will crit anyway in stealth you can focus setbonusses etc all other gear on something else then power and crit. arp isn`t needed also very much, seems to be ok between 14 and 20%
hmm, now to think where to replace the gear with ;p or how to effective use this ;p

going insane :D bought elusive set and putting recovery in everything lol
i don`t know yet, have to look how this works out.
have to look if recovery is somehow able to get real low on encounters ;p

That is people who aren't wearing any costume items and are in costume mode. They still get all the stats from their gear.

Hi Everyone, as you may have noticed my title is a bit sarcastic though i think you will aghast on the things that i will post on this thread regarding our so called "Gears".

To start it all off have you noticed that your damage doesn't really improve even if you have pump up alot of Power? or even added some Armor Penetration?

    this is why..............

on this 1st image is my Character a Trickster Rouge. (As you can see it has an 8,673 Attack/Healing)
    eq35oh.png

on this 2nd image I've used Lashing Blade on a Dummy with a Full geared 8,673 Attack/Healing, The Lashing blade hits the dummy for 11,399 Damage. (I've used Lashing because it is the most consistent damage burst a rouge can deal and is a good example on scaling damage)
    ir3iwk.png

Now this is the part where all your AD/Time/Effort on getting all of your gears is wasted. On this 3rd image is a screenshot of my Character without gears except for Mainhand and Offhand. (As you can see it only has a 2,535 Attack/Healing)
    i26a6s.png

And now I've tried the same thing as to what i did on the 2nd image but without using any gears except for my Mainhand and Offhand. It hits the Dummy for 11,460 even better than with full gear.

In conclusion on all of this what's the point of getting gears? if you can deal almost the same or even higher damage naked than when you're geared?

To everyone that will doubt the legitimacy of this post, you can try and see it for yourself.
To Cryptic i hope this will be your utmost priority on fixing cause this has made the game worthless to be played if we're wasting our time/effort on nothing.

Hope this helps anyone who will read it and sorry if my english is bad.

gears are for clocks and other machines

you are wearing gear. there is no S added to the word to make it plural.

OP's methods are clearly wrong but I want to say that gear upgrades (weapon exluded) do feel very lackluster in this game. When I hit 60 and put on all of my pvp gear I could barely notice any difference in my performance apart from when I upgraded my main hand weapon, and that was going from level 50 greens to full pvp gear in an instant.

I think stat scaling needs to be reworked, someone in full epic gear should feel much more powerful than someone in level 50 green gear.

OP or someone hopely can get some more testing to this, but with power alone would expect differences, while cant know whats those dummies armor value to start with.

Also if its just one skill tested so far, it might be that skill doesnt use any bonus from power (which would suck). They really need to get transparent over this stuff, cause the whole added real money respecs to skills, you cant really even test this all unless ready to dish out cash.

Looks like a win from their point of view.

From my point of view can't say I care for people playing hide and seek with the rules of a game.

TLDR - Armor Penetration is the best stat for damage.

People like him must be feeding well on these forums, they can afford to be selective now I guess.

how is correcting someone "feeding"? I assume that anyone who has an opinion that differs from yours is a troll as well?

Your power is the defining factor. Not your Attack/Healing. Remove your offhand weapon to notice the drop, friend and I just figured it out.

    Interesting... but not conclusive.

    Here's why:

In the OP's screenshots he's showing Attack/Healing values being changed which is fine. But what he's not showing is exactly what stats are there in the equipped mode. all those points could be in Armor Penetration, Critical, and Life Steal all of which do nothing for base damage.

And while Normally Armor Penetration would increase damage against most foes Combat dummies don't have any damage mitigation for it to go through.

Nice try but show screenshots of it geared with stats that are actually supposed to do more damage and it might be more believable.
