Well if Shadowweaver is broken its probably the best 4p, but crit is just awful as a stat itself aswell as a stat for mages...
Softcap is 2k, and everybody should use Eye of the Storm which will render crit useless for at least 30% of time in fights.

I just spent like 20+ minutes attacking the last boss in epic spellplague (one guy had a disconnect, did him with 4, my poor 8400 GS CW had to solo burn the boss).
Since this was pretty boring and not really hard i did nothing but watching out for eye of the storm to proc. I critted for a huge amount of damage while eye of the storm didn't proc.
After doing literally nothing but watching the the ratio of "normal crit" to eye of the storm for over 20 minutes i feel like crit is definitively a stat worth having, even when eye of the storm is used.
Every stat (except Power) has huge diminishing returns after 3000. Someone with 5500 Recovery will have 5% more AP gain and 5% more reduced cool downs than someone with only 4000. That's 1500 stat points for 5% difference that no one can legitimately tell the difference between. The same goes for Crit where the difference between 4100 and 3500 is 1.3% (19.6% vs 18.3%).
The simple truth of this game is the only set that is worth it is Shadow Weaver. Going 2/2 of sets or grabbing set bonuses that give more of the same hugely diminishing returning stats is a total waste. Shadow Weaver granting 5-10% Critical Severity (per stack) via Measured Spellcasting is COLOSSAL for your team. When you add that much Critical Severity to classes like Rogues or even yourself (which with sufficient crit can crit all the time as well) you really are buffing the hell out of your group.
Best of all when they eventually do fix throwing stuff off cliffs (because you already see them doing it with bosses like T2 Spider Temple) you won't have to completely re-gear your guy.
Similar AP/Recharge performance.
Greater damage.
Greater group benefit during DPS fights.
4/4 Shadow Weaver.
If they remove environmental damage from mobs, this game dies a slow death. I think pvp needs cliffs or higher falls to damage players with positional strategy rather than just stand on the grey point circle.

Dont forget, that Shadow set should not give so much +crit.
Is it because of Cryptic math on recovery? Just like with professions, a 100% speed bonus cuts the time by 50%. So a 100% recovery bonus would decrease times by 50%. I think it's because 100% is twice as fast, so you're getting twice the actions in as someone with a 0% bonus.
So 20% recovery is equal to a 10% reduction in recharge speed. Maybe?
This guy is 100% correct, if you've done tradeskills you understand the underlying math on statistics and how percentages are calculated.
If you get 7500 recovery, and 50% reduction statistic in the tab, it's effectively 25% in real-time.
Which means to see the largest returns you would currently use shadow weavers in a party setup (because of nothing other then the 4 piece buff it provides), and whatever pieces get all your primary stats close to the softcap in solo.
You would also back your gearing choices up with a proper spec, going a cookie cutter spec because it provided some random the best throughput for his blue/random epics in beta is ridiculous. The amount of CW's i've spoken to that say 'but this is the spec on the forums' is ridiculous. Half of the <font color="orange">HAMSTER</font> in renegade doesn't even work how described or AT ALL. You spec for functionality, which is dependent upon what you personally want to do, and your gearing choices.
From a purely min/max perspective there are much better feats to choose the ones posted in the popular CW threads if you're going with shadow weaver set primarily, and slotting for recovery.

That's not true. If you get 50% reduction in the tab that's 1/(1+50%) = 66.7% cooldown time = 33,3% effective CD reduction. When something says "recharge x% faster" you alwyes use 1/(1+x) to determine total recharge time. The only exception is talent that reduces CDs by x%(since it reduces CD and not speeds up recharge).
What do you think about Archmage set? It might be T1 but it's 4/4 set bonus seems to be crazy strong, especially with recovery builds.

Which set and build do u recommend now they nerfed some.
For example, high vizier gives only +132 recovery for 2 pieces and shadow weaver +132 crit for 2 pieces
4 pieces have been modified too.

Recovery works like this: FINAL COOLDOWN = BASE COOLDOWN / (1 + RECOVERY%/100)
100% Recovery will give you 1/2 the cooldown.
It works this way because otherwise 100% recovery would allow infinite damage.
