I received two mails this morning from the same person. The first mail contained 9 astral diamonds from an auction house sale and the second contained large fireworks. I found this odd at first because I don't remember putting anything on the auction house for 9 astral diamonds. When I took the attachments all of my astral diamonds except for 30 were gone.
Stupid to take the attachments, yes. But it looks like the customer service website and the in game ticket functions are not working. So I'm posting this here hoping a dev sees it. And to just let people know to keep an eye out for anything like this in their in game mail.
Sounds like those (insert whatever name here) found a way to cod (cash on delivery) something and by you taking it you pay for the cod with all your diamonds.
I've had a similar issue today, and there doesn't seem to be any way to report this, so I will use your thread too, hope you don't mind.
There are a bunch of things on the AH with a negative expiry date. If you buyout on them in game you lose AD but you don't get the item.
Luckily I was only bidding on an item worth 100AD before I realised, but there are items out there worth a lot more, and people will lose money if they don't realise.

Just to add onto this, it appears they also took all but 2 of my gold and somehow took all but 18 of my Tarmalune trade bars. I thought these exploits were supposed to be fixed?
One: There is no way to send items COD in Neverwinter
Two: Even if there was the scammer would have to know approximately how much AD, Gold and Trade Bars you had or he is wasting time fishing in the dark which they hate to do.
Three: Even of you could COD items in the AH which you can't all transactions are for AD not gold Trade bars or anything else.
I think you're mistaken... because joking about exploits that don't exists usually leads to banned accounts and I know that isn't what you're doing here . Looking at the accounts who are effected by this it seems you both are very new with only three posts each...we have a very nice new user guide that will help you learn a lot more about the game, so you won't make mistakes like this again.

And it's responses like this that I wish the GM ticket function was active right now. Just because I don't post on the forums often does not mean I'm new to the game. Nor does it mean I don't read the forums.

Thanks for the condescending post, you seem like a lovely chap. Maybe we only have three posts because we have better things to do with our lives?
Anyway I can prove what i'm saying.
Log onto the game, and search for a level 32 GWF main hand sword, called +3 Warrior's Greatsword of Protection. Its on for a bid of 99 and a buyout of 100.
Look at your AD total and then choose buyout. Then let me know if it doesn't reduce by 100 AD and you don't get the item.
I did another search afterwards and found a few items that had the same negative expiry date "feature" but for much more AD.
Just to add onto this, it appears they also took all but 2 of my gold and somehow took all but 18 of my Tarmalune trade bars. I thought these exploits were supposed to be fixed?
Most of your AD gone. Most of your gold gone. Strange emails from the AH. Missing Tarmalune bars. To be honest it sounds more likely you were hacked.

That is a lot more likely than what they are describing, not seeing anything on the AH with a negative Expiration date, which was a completely different thing than the OP was saying.

I thought that at first as well. But they didn't sell any of my gear or crafting assests if that was the case. And why would they leave some currency as opposed to taking it all? Not to mention the two strange mails I received. If a GM looks at the logs either way, they will be able to see something out of the ordinary.

Go into the AH in game and do a search for Main Hand items for GWF, and put in this exact text string:
+3 Warrior's Greatsword of Protection
Its there with an expiration date of -2 days. I don't want to post the sellers name as I don't know if its an exploit or a bug.
If this wasn't a cash on delivery trick, my guess would be that someone hacked you and used your account to buy fireworks from their account (Thus transferring all of your AD to their account). They probably also sold an item of yours for a small amount of AD and quickly bought it out on their account.

Honestly guy I'm not seeing it on my shard...could you post a screen shot? And you know that you can PM Sominator or one of the other Devs right? That will get you a lot further than posting on the forum, it's what I do when I see something serious and the GM ticket system isn't working.
I cannot comment on the loss of any money type, but I have seen several negative expiration dates on the AH (Dragon shard). It looked wrong, and I didn't buy any. So I can only vouch that these negative expiration dates exist.
Venexis a couple postings up from this one has a really feasible sounding explanation on the inner workings of this exploit, ie. a standard hacked account. Are you certain you had your diamonds after logging in today but before you clicked on the mails? I would be willing to bet they were already gone by then..

I've seen them also, and I attempted to buy a couple, but all I got was an error message. The amount of AD I had did not change.

So you were hacked, end of story. Don't go to gold selling sites again.
If thats not the case then, maybe you share account with someone? Like a HAMSTER friend?
Ah right we must be on different shards. I am on Beholder. I have a screenshot: http://twitpic.com/cte9c8
I'll PM a dev, it seems like a bit much to report a bug. But the bug reporting tools are down.
Yeah but that screenshot isn't showing a negative date and it has a starting and buyout price of positive as well, anyway PM a dev I'm sure they can help.
As far as the negative dates go...I used a new Character I was working on that only has 100 AD on him and tried to bid on one of the Auctions I found with a negative date,(did finally find three after doing a header search) it wouldn't let me even though I had enough AD to buyout....so I think the Negative dates They might be Auctions that have expired and have not left the system properly which could be an intermittent bug,( and explain why I couldn't bid or buyout) but not necessarily a exploit.
I'll have a few guys I group with check it out as well and we will send a mail to the CS if we find anything.

This is almost certainly the answer.

Okay four times I tried to bid on AH with negative dates four times it said I couldn't so I'm pretty certain those are a non issue on the player side, unless the seller isn't getting his goods back then it's a big issue.
But yeah I'm thinking hack now, make sure you have account guard turned on, change your password to something you don't use for anything else make sure you have a quality anti virus and anti malware suite (you get what you pay for and free sucks) with a built in Keyboard scrambler with encryption, finally move your PWE account to a email that offers two step verification (meaning someone tries to change your password you will get a text sent to your cell) like Gmail.
None of that is foolproof but it makes the jerks work harder for it and hackers are a lazy lot they won't try something they have to work for when there are so many easy targets out there.

Scanning for key loggers and changing my password is the first thing I did. I do not go to gold selling websites, and I am the only one who has access to my computer and account. This is not my first time playing an MMO and while I appreciate the advice I'm not exactly a newb wandering in off the street.
I know you guys find it hard to believe that this could happen. And sadly a lot of you won't unless it happens to you. But I know for a fact it happened to me. This game is not invincible to hacks and exploits as we've already seen. It is not beyond reason that another one has been found. Everyone is entitled to their opinion on what can and cannot happen in the realm of programming, I was simply posting it here to try and get a GM's attention since the ticket system is currently down.
Well obviously PWI doesnt think there is an issue with hacking using their completely inept and down right stupid system allowing a phishing service to simply get your account password...change the email address related to your account..then send the authorization to change said password to the NEW EMAIL,,,,the single most ignorant security in an MMO I have ever encountered in 15 years playing online MMOs...and since mine was hacked and account stolen 11 days ago now and not so much as a we are looking into it or anything else they obviously dont believe PAYING customers are a priority...the only other time in 5-6 years playing PWI F2P games I was hacked was about 3 years ago playing Perfect World and I sent in a ticket and within 2 hours got a reply from a live real person rep who emailed me...restored my account..rolled it back so I had everything I should have had that I bought with REAL MONEY through Zen purchases and even game me some high end potions and said standing next to me in game Sorry for your troubles and have a nice day....does anyone see this kind of service happening in Neverwinter??? I kinda doubt it...just by looking at my wallet on my account they could see I have spent probably 2500-3000 on PWI games over the past 2-3 years and you would think with all the freeloaders out there griping about HAMSTER and never paying one dime to support the game or the staffs salaries they would take some priority in fixing these issues...but nope...11 days no reply...cant play on a holiday weekend I was looking forward to and most likely will never even get my account back and if I do everything will be stripped and get the canned auto reply of its our policy not to replace items ....sad cause this game HAD potential...

Not if you have it disabled to remote viewing as well as screen capture disabled. I use an onscreen keyboard with a scramble feature as well. As I said a high quality security suite is worth it.
All I'm actually doing is following the ITIL standards standards my employer uses, again nothing is foolproof, a man in the middle hack is still "theoretically" possible but it's really more trouble than it's worth, not like I'm guarding state secrets or anything just my MMO accounts.

I didn't lose AD in the gateway, only when I tried in game (stupid I know, but I wanted the item and thought it was a bug with the gateway!)

No... I don't have many AD... I'm only level 30 on my main and I have a habit of spending them to finish my profession tasks early. LOL.

I have no idea if their system is that sophisticated though.
Oh, and change your password immediately and scan your system for any keyloggers if you haven't done so.
Bingo also every 15 days I go http://strongpasswordgenerator.com/ here and transfer it directly to a encrypted USB device..I never type in my passwords.
