New to MMO - how best to practice class roles

Neverwinter is my first MMO and first experience with the Skirmishes and Dungeon Delves
I am enjoying my Cleric and can solo (with MAA companion) at Lv 43 and the Pirates fairly well.

However, my experience in Dungeons has been simply frustrating starting with the Mad Dragon. I was only able to get part way through it and then my level was too high to revisit it for completion. Same with GWD. I've been fortunate enough to have had patient and experienced team mates but its not fun letting the team down :(

Is there a way to practice on (return to) lower level Dungeons/Skirmishes to get a better feel for the class roles other than creating a new character?

You can revisit lower level dungeons by going to their physical places where they are located. Older skirmishes..i dont know how that works, dont think thats possible.

as for the (non 60 version) of mad dragon well dont feel bad, i been playing healer in plenty of MMO's before and never managed to complete that one once out of a 6-7 tries or so when I was in that lvl range, the last boss there is just over the top for a PuG group

Good to know about the Dungeons :)
I know I've missed seeing a skirmish or two as well due to level restrictions :(

I had the same experience. Went there time and time again until I outleveled being able to queue for it and never beat it until 60 when I did it on epic mode. It's just super difficult for a group of 35ish players who are still learning how to play their class. Just keep healing what you can queue for to get practice. Once you get the swing of it healing in this game is a blast.
