There should be no roll backs. No wipes. There should be no bans. I wish you would all stop obsessing about what everyone else is doing!!!
See a problem? Address it, fix it, move forward.
The real problem is you guys just can't let anything go! Just enjoy the game. Stop trying to worry about what every one else is doing. Mind your own **** business.
You enjoy the game, enjoy, play it. Let it go! Move forward!
Would that wiping influence also Foundry quests?
if yes than that is the most selfish thing if players consider that..
As I am Foundry tool user... Wipe what you want but dont touch Foundry quests.. There is a lot of people who dedicated their days and weeks to their Faundry quests... If back roll would mean to wipe also Foundry quests related to users then anybody who would support that is just so much selfish brat.. Anyway that is only "neighbor has a cow (even though obtained by cheating)... me not... lets complain..." mentality... any person who thinks like that is sad, poor and I am sorry for that person...
Get your life people.. this is game....

Spoken like a true exploiter  Awaiting the bans and inevitable QQ'ing.
I don't see how wiping the game will affect Foundry quests, except perhaps Foundry quests made by those with accounts that are banned for using exploits.

What other people have by theft or cheating shouldn't affect the value of what you legitimately earn - to address the guy who mentioned devaluation of goods.
If you watch a movie by purchasing a movie ticket, and someone sneaks in and watches the whole movie before they are escorted out by security, does that make you value your purchase less?
It really shouldn't, you got what you paid for and the other guy got the same thing not because he was given it or earned it, but because he STOLE it.
This is basically the same. Another simple analogy would be a guy cheating on a test and not being caught at the time but being kicked out of class afterwards and having his grade adjusted. You don't envy that guy, you don't want to be that guy, and you should be happy with your grade that you actually earned.
I don't know why this changes when we move these situations to the virtual world. The problem in this situation is the exploiters, and they should be punished. Obviously they're working on that.
I don't know why people want a do over as if there will never be another exploit, never be another reason the economy could be ruined. All games have cheaters and exploiters and dupers and hackers, because those are REAL people, who REALLY exist, and they can't be fully eliminated from online gaming communities, in the same way that theft or violence cannot be fully eliminated from our human existence - all we can do is eliminate these individuals from games as we find them, correct the problem as far as we are able, and move on.
There is so much more to enjoy about this game beyond economy and worrying about what other people are doing or having, especially if those people got what they do/have by what amounts to dishonesty.

how do those people come to a conclusion that someone is cheating anyway? I mean when I go to the game I se just many players.. some has high level some low.. some has probably high level equipment and some dont.. I dont know.. I see this in every MMO.. so how someone can notice that someone else is cheating and then report it? It is like "that guy there has nice armor.. I dont have it.. why he has this armor and me not? he must be cheating"... Is that the way it goes? Or what is that?

The difference here is that, him sneaking into the theater won't raise the price of the next ticket, and the other guy cheating on the test won't make the next one harder.
If they leave these duped Astral diamonds in the game, everything on the auction house will shoot up in price very quickly. Yea, it may end up being that they will anyway, but not until much later.
If you take page from real world economics , this will be a bubble. Prices will rise in the short term but should fall back as the influx of AD will be reduced. In reality what does the Auction House really get you that you can not get on your own? Hyper-inflation can be controlled and market forces will self correct.
Having played through the first 20 levels of the game twice already, I have NO desire to see that content again. It was bland the first time, and painful the second. If they wipe or rollback I'm going to have to walk away from the game.
Yes!!! They are doing what I would do about this game. They are already taking the exact course of action. Can't wait to see what will happen after the servers come back up.
Servers will most likely not be up until tonight(at least). First time I have seen this go into action.
I don't really understand all of the *****ing, to be honest. I'm probably the odd one out, or maybe I'm missing some giant component to all of this, but I've been on playing every day and I don't get it.
Economy is a hot topic in every game and I do not understand why, buying HAMSTER from other players is probably the last thing on earth I pay attention to in a game. As far as buying stuff with RL currency, sure... but I'd buy specific things, for a 1:1 ratio... IE I buy this, I get this. I don't care what value that thing has in relation to other peoples stuff, or whatever... Like, the respec - I'd buy a respec if I wanted to respec, and as long as I got to respec I'd be happy. Simple, right?
As far as the whole, this is open beta thing. Yeah - okay so it's open beta, but we were also told no wipes, and going back on that would irritate me a heck of a lot more then people having stuff they shouldn't have for a little bit. As an actual veteran gamer for many launches of MMOs, I have seen tons of much worse exploits not turn into a complete wipe in open beta/early release, and even during the actual game... Just ban the people who were caught doing it, more importantly remove their misbegotten goods, and maybe consider a rework the entire currency idea if the problem is too widespread since we're early in the game. I can't figure out why some people believe a server wipe should even be on the table, lol.
As far as people being oh god the game is dead, I also feel like I didn't hear that correctly... the game is dead because some people are very upset about people exploiting and having things they shouldn't have and PW took the servers down to fix it but it's not a full wipe or rewind so you're so unhappy that you're quitting and thus the game is dead as a result? That also sounds ridiculous. Honestly, so does people complaining to the BBB...just really all seems twilight zone like strange and extreme to me. Did you or did you not get what you paid for? Yes? Then how does other people getting what you paid for by breaking the rules mean that you should complain to the BBB? I'm confused.
I think people just need to breathe a little bit. As for me personally, I'll play because I enjoy many aspects of the game, and I suspect many others will too. What will happen, will happen. PW will handle the situation how they handle it, if it isn't to your liking you don't need to play, and that is totally fine - you guys are all entitled to do what you want, I just think the rage and kneejerk reactions are a bit out of control here.
i agree i like the game because ive read the books and like the intertwined characters i like the combat i like the pvp and since ive only put in 20 im not to upset bout a wipe if they choose to do it they keep track of all transactions so as long as they give at least the zen amount of whatever you put into the game than a full wipe isnt that bad just a game can get back to where i am in less time than it took me to get to where i am now
You realize if they do a wipe or rollback they have to refund all of us who have purchased Zen, as someone who has spent well over 1k on this game(2x founders, 600+ in zen) I'm very much against a wipe.
I love this game, I love the companions and mount. The combat is -almost- perfect and it feels incredibly fun to me. I'm willing to spend the dollars to get the dye's, profession packs and anything else I want from the zen market(I'm not alone in this either). Exploits happen, ban those who exploited, remove the goods and move forward. Otherwise you'll have a LOT of people just like me who will be rolling around with 80+k Zen and 4+ million AD in a "new" economy on day one(without exploiting, merely from having spent the rl $$ to get there). Not to mention they'll have to come up with something to even out us losing our 5 day head start.
Returning the Zen or even refunding the cash would place those like me with a very unfair advantage. I wouldn't buy several of the pets or mounts I did prior simply because having the 60's I do I now know what I actually want and will be able to use my Zen and AD for better purchases.
The economy wouldn't be as bad as it is now, but it wouldn't fix the problem. Would merely pass control from the exploiters to those of us who bought it.

Yeah and because your thirst for blood I cant work on my foundry.. and in my country is already like 0:17 AM.. So soon time to sleep... many peopel are already sleeping...

Well, actually it does. Ticket prices are inflated to cover theft, just like store prices are raised to cover theft/loss. But, that's kind of semantics.
To get to the bottom of your point here - I believe what you are saying is :
Exploited AD raises AD prices for everyone. It inflates AD prices in the economy meaning that people need to buy more, thus spending more of RL money.
My response would be :
Prices are already affected by this. Pricing in any economy is affected by availability of finance (as well as availability of goods/services, of course). Removing the sources of the exploits will lead to stabilization of the economy over time. A large amount of currency will be removed with permanent bans of those accounts, along with removal of the exploit/exploiters themselves. The amounts that are in circulation already will gradually deplete themselves as the AH has a tax system in it. More 'spot' loss of AD will occur as players quit the game, are banned for other reasons, etc (unreliable, but does factor in).
This exploit has gone on for a maximum of 3 weeks (for people that is saying that the exploit has existed longer than PW admits). The potential impact of that is extremely minor in the long-term.
Short-term effects to the game of leaving it in is probably nothing compared to a full wipes damage on the community.
Basically, time/deflation through tax and natural decay will fix the economy if given some time. It shouldn't even take that MUCH time to correct.
