looking at the economy, lol this is not a game i would want to play in the next few weeks as I hate to see the game crumble when the best items are all set to sell at 50k AD prices. making your own hard work for your own gear seem like a waste of time all along.
I say leave it this is part of the games history. I just dinged 60 yesterday and I see the 500k prices for gear and all that I wonder how am I going to afford that. Then I press K and go to a dungeon an hour or 2 later I have better gear and have some high priced auctions of my own.
So I say leave it economies aren't perfect and it's part of an mmo sometimes HAMSTER happens.
What's ticking everyone off is Cryptic's silence on the issue.
A simple post telling everyone that at least KNOW about it would go a looooong way.
There won't be a rollback.
However, I agree with you on the silence part. Silence causes misunderstanding and eventually leads to bad feelings.
People need to know that you care Cryptic/PW.. so please do communicate with us, on the many issues we have brought up to you regarding the end-game, things you need to fix, the classes etc.
Wow i didn't knew about this exploit, i did read in the patch notes a few days ago that they reduced grd fighter damage significantly... So this was the fix i guess. Must be the way goldsellers make easy diamonds and money.

They've made multiple posts when they fixed it that a) they weren't doing a roll back, and b) they were investigating the incident for optimal solutions.
the economy of the game is trashed and I can't think of anything but a server rollback would fix this.
The economy isn't trashed, and a server rollback isn't necessary.
This is actually good for the economy if you are buying.
Besides, mmo economies are all generally broken anyways. I would rather see those that are exploiting (or as some may say, cheating) be heavily punished (read: perm ban). Of couse this won't happen though, since the exploiters are potential paying customers just like everyone else.

AKA sweeping it under the rug and hope people forget about it. The "optimal" solution is to ban the exploiters, especially the ones with YouTube channels, twitch streams etc and remove as much of the exploited gear and AD as they possibly can to send a clear message that exploiting has consequences.

The longer they wait the worse it will get.
So what about the legitimate players who purchased this gear without knowing it was cheated into the system? The ones who brought it and probably don't have replacement gear in case it does get wiped, do you take the gear off them too? How about refunding the AD they spent, is that part of your plan?
The first step is obviously either banning or wiping these accounts of any ill gotten gains as well as removing their active auctions. Of course they then have to consider going after mule accounts and if they do how to avoid hitting legitimate accounts who tried to play the AH, or if they remove the gear from everyone how they compensate legitimate players who just thought they'd stumbled across a bargain on the AH as well as what those players do if they're left without a weapon or armor.
The first step is easy, the second is far far harder, and a lot harder to recover from if they stumble.
If they don't get banned then all that tells me is I should be taking advantage of any exploits that pop up ASAP because there is literally no consequences lol.........

I wish Cryptic or PWE would read this and figure out that 72 hour bans means that people will be less inclined to spend real money on this game as they can just exploit and 72 hours later enjoy all their gains. For a company that wants to make money this does seem to be an odd stance to take,,,,
They could have disabled the bonus until it was fixed.
They could have done a lot if things, but instead they went with a cash grab. Too bad because word of mouth is power full. I talked 7 people out of getting the founder HotN pack. I am sure others have as well.

Occam's Razor makes the cutting clean.
