I am among the groups of clerics who WILL NOT run a dungeon until cleric threat is fixed. I just got attacked relentlessly by my team in Gray Wolf Den because the adds were always on me (and sometimes the bosses too). I have Soothe as well as the passive threat reducer both maxed. I have weighted my gear for defense and HP, to the point where I had more HP than the GF 3 levels higher than me, just so I maybe won't die.
The tank was trying as hard as they could to get the adds off me and they couldn't. I'm tired of wasting money on injury kits.
This isn't a QQ post, because I took it with a grain of salt until today's dungeon run with the personal insults and nasty tells. Every dungeon since Mad Dragon has been absolutely horrible for me, as a cleric.
I really want to play my cleric in group content. I've tanked or healed in games for years. But I guess I am stuck with only questing and doing Skirmishes/PvP until SOMETHING gets fixed.
When you and your team are in a boss fight.
All the dps should focus on the adds.
Its allot of times that i see 1 rogue attack the boss while other are fighting adds.
That rogue should attack the adds aswell and ignore the boss untill all the adds are dead.
The tank should then mainly focus on the boss and try to make it face the opisite side of the group that is fighting the adds (or side ways incase a drake).
Everytime when i was in a dungeon with players i made sure before i went in the circle that tps everyone.
That all melee (not the tank) should focus on the adds.
Some players will say "Yea but the tank should tank the adds aswell.......".
The tank should not, the adds should be killed by "ALL" dps.
And then the fight should be easyer.
If a tank on the other hand needs to deal with the adds, then our shields will go down and we cant handel the boss anymore = wipe!
I hope players start understanding (not to be a HAMSTER at all) that this is a skilled based genre type of game.
Where everyone need do to do there best to protect your team mates.
Clerics die allot in random dungeons just because what i just said above.
Players do not understand at all, that they should be the protectors for other classes :P.
Either you are a giant d!ck, or you simply heal next to nothing or are plain dumb.
This has NOTHING to do with threat management. If I as a GF have to spam Threatening Rush in mob groups (pre boss) to keep them tucked to me, the threat is a **** HAMSTER mechanic and utterly ointless or a failure of concept.
I AM the tank. It's my sole purpose to keep the mobs to me, to control their movement and to enable the DPS to do their optimal damage. If all I have to do is tank a single mob, you might as well let a tank pet tank the boss. Have the cleric heal the pet, From what I heard the tank pet is actually capable of TANKING Tier 1 epic dungeon bosses without problems, just like a real tank.
From your standpoint (the DPS going for all adds, the tank merely holding the boss) the GF is no longer needed in T1 dungeons and instead should be replaced by a tank-pet. Which opens up another slot for a DPS which in turn makes it easier on the clerics.
There is ONE simple fact that makes all your "skill-based" arguments invalid:
All monsters are half-dead (I cleaved them with my blue mace that drops in the one Helm's Hold-questdungeon), and my shield breaks (because that thing is not infinite, sadly). I get ONE (in numbers: 1) HoT from my cleric pet -> all mobs run to her.
Sorry, that has literally NOTHING to do with skill. Or maybe the mobs just like how dumb the pet acts, that might be true, too.

Its amazing how many non-Clerics think our issue has to do with a tank's inability to do his/her job or our inability to manage threat. And yet in this thread, and others, the Clerics AND tanks are saying that something is wrong. Why don't you rogues go back to easy mode DPSing and let us sort this out. We KNOW there is a problem. If you don't believe it, then roll up a cleric and come back when you hit Mad Dragon and tell us what we're all doing wrong. I've issued that challenge to a couple people on this thread and not one has come back with something constructive add. I also have refused to do dungeons until we are fixed. Maybe when enough Clerics get mad about it and stop doing dungeons, the rest of you will take a serious look at what we're telling you.
Keep in mind we have to cause damage to heal which builds aggro AND we have to heal which builds aggro.

Funny that you insult me yet every dungeon i'v been in there was no problem with tanking what so ever.
I dont call you a "giant d!ck" nor i call you or anyone "plain dumb" so first off all.
Maybe you should look at your self, respect seem to lack with you.
I have had verry less to no problem what so ever in dungeons.
The boss was 90% of the time on me.
Do you think that just aggro skills will help?
Its also about the damage you do as a GF, but as you seem to be the perfect knight on the white horse you must know all about it dont you?
Yes there might be some problems here and there i never said there was no bug what so ever.
I just said at my way of looking that i have 0% problems with keeping aggro.
Allot of times when i cant keep aggro on the boss / trash mobs, is when players are going in before me.
But then again you must know all about this because you are one of those people that think are the best.
I am not here to make a fight nor insult, you did so lets keep it like that.
Again i have had healers telling me that it went smooth.
So yea, what ever you want to say keep that for you and talk like an normal adult and not like a brainless person.
I'll just add to this. I've played healers in other games, and, yes, healers get aggro. This is more than usual, though, and you can't seem to drop it. Chiraku did make a valid point, and that's certainly the method I'm used to from ops in SWTOR. That said, it's not always viable here.
I'm used to being an aggro magnet, and I joke with the friend I group with that someone's told the mobs that half-elves have tasty flesh. It's tolerable in a 2-person group, but the dungeons get insane. As someone mentioned earlier, you get killed, get brought up and immediately dead again (unless they or you use a scroll). (I'll also add there have been cases where I've hit my heal potion and it hasn't healed me but went on cooldown anyway). I can barely heal the party because I've got so much aggro I have to spend all my time running around. I originally thought it was just me, that I was a poor healer in this game, but it seems to be a widespread issue.
