As the title states, i started playing neverwinter and had fun, but there is a issue that i cant understand why is there, and yes we are talking about Ninja looting, why in the world people is able to click NEED if they cant equip that? why not just block the need button to them so no one pisses you off the loot?.
Said that i like to remember the loot system from WAR, prety neat, they basically did what i just mentioned, Other solution would be doing what GW2 does but i dont see that in Neverwinter to be honest.
So. People of Perfect world/Cryptic. (whoever is in command) please if you are not going to solve such a primitive issue at least tell me why you allow that silly problem to persist, just tell me why you did not implement the system i mentioned on release. Or you just want to <font color="orange">HAMSTER</font> people on purpose?.

It's not ninja looting. That's the wrong usage of the word.
Someone who wanted it that couldn't equip it rolled need and won. Now they'll sell it and buy what they do need. This is part of MMO's now. Almost all of them are doing this. Just sell what you get and buy what you need.
If not, Run with guildies. I run a close group of friends with some new people in my guild and we run dungeons for loot and put the unneeded stuff into the gbank for future alts or members who will need it.

Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it.

They -need- the AD to buy the gear they will use. They did just as much work as you did to get that piece to drop. Had it of been for their class and someone else rolled need and won(which happens, obviously), then now did they not only miss their chance of the actual piece they needed but they also missed out on the possible(which in this case was a win) on an item they could sell to get what they needed.
It's not your loot just because your class can equip it. If you want it that way, run with pre made groups.

I can agree with you to some degree, but then "greed" option is useless, noone will ever use it because there are always some AD to earn.

as far as im concerned this is called etiquette. its been the same throughout all mmos that use this "need/greed" system if you cant use the item then you should be rolling greed! i dont give a monkeys if you "need" to sell it to make AD, i actually "need" that item to improve my char. this, is accepted by pretty much everyone who plays mmo`s
why cant there be a system in place whereby if you cant use the item you can only roll greed or pass? that would clear up these people that see fit to need on everything which is unfair to the rest of the group.
Yeah, I don't see how, someone "needing" just for the purpose of selling it, is any different than "greed". Isn't the point for the "Greed" option is because you plan on selling it?
Party leader should be able to change loot rule to "roll / pass" if they want to. Don't get away from the fact that its "people" who are causing this, not the loot rules.
As has been said already - get guilded - no worries.

Maybe you guys have just had bad luck. So far every single group I've been with have been really good with the "need, greed, pass" choices, asides from a single player who always chose need until we asked them to stop. Upon which they politely apologised and did stop.
Maybe just try talking to whoever you're playing with politely? It sometimes really does go a VERY long way.
But yes, need is normally for the purpose of needing the item, greed is for the purpose of just wanting a bit more loot.
Green items I can see everyone needing on cause its like the lottery you never know if its going to be a winner for you, but whens it's blues or higher only if its for your class or role and you need it.

there no real way to fix it.. its just the players being greedy.. even if u make it so if u can wear it u can only roll need would still be abused.. just means if i have a better item or already have it, i can roll need and win it with no competition..but this post will be back up tomorrow along with the zen shop post..

Its not really a flaw in the system, it is a flaw in the players that abuse the system.
