Bill's Tavern
A Fun, Campy Little Foundry Quest
@dzogen | NW-DT773OSVJ

I stopped by for a quick drink, and just at the moment I least expected, that’s when they came for me...

...mindless, brain eating zombies.

They left me no choice. I struck down the first two waves and ran for the door, vowing to get a drink at a tavern I hoped was substantially more chill.

But then, right as I was almost out, I heard a small voice whisper:

"You know, brain eating isn't very nice."

I stopped dead in my tracks.

Brain eating isn't very nice.

And then, slowly, I became angry. So dark and deep, from somewhere I do not understand it came.

I turned around.

I'm not a violent man. I don't normally go looking for trouble. I sure didn't start this fight. But I promise, as long as I am standing, I will finish it.

Introducing "Bill's Tavern,"(NW-DT773OSV) a new Zombie-revenge style quest with a little bit of ridiculousness thrown in for good measure.

Featuring:
  • Bartender Bill, as the Zombie leader
  • The Grimp, as the Grimp
  • And you, as the OP traveler who likes his brains intact, thank you very much

This Evening's Agenda:

Confront unimaginable horrors...

lcbss.png

Pwn hordes of Zombie nubs...

brainsj.pngzombienomnom.png

All the while doing what's right...

Notes:
  • Start in Protector's Enclave, near the bank
  • Length: 16 minute average
  • Author:@dzogen
  • Code: NW-DT773OSVJ

    Updates
    Added more gore downstairs
Removed a bug that in some cases could cause mob aggro behind a door
Removed some mobs to lower average playthru time from 17 to 15 minutes

    Feedback request:
Someone left feedback that "your conscience" should not be invisible. If you played through this, did this cause a problem? I actually thought it was a cool mechanic but not sure if anyone else had issues with this.

I'd change the name of your mission. With it being a bar and full of undead MIGHT be a little to close to that film.

Thanks for feedback - I know that blood and sand one had the same problem. I take it it would be an issue to use other movie references then. It would be good if somewhere it was outlined what types of things we can and can't do in our quests.

. . . . . I, personally, wouldn't report it on it's name, but it is the name of a popular film franchise and I don't know if Hasbro owns the rights. Generally if WotC has rights to it, it should be okay. If you do change it and want your thread title updated, just Post Report on it with your request for Subject Change.

This is a parody quest, so it's protected against copyright claims according to US law. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I've been getting a lot of reports about this in The Lanaar Legacy. I'm curious, how did you solve it? My only solution in some cases was to simply delete encounters because of the tight spaces in the mansion.

Being invisible is fine for that. If it's going to take physical form, the only thing I can think of would be for the classic demon vs angel conscience, with two NPCs. Invisible is not a problem though.

In my case it was pretty straightforward workaround since the mobs were in a hall. I set a place marker and decreased the radius to 10.

When the adventurer runs over the marker only then do the mobs emerge from the depths below. :)

Hmm, that won't work so well in my case, but it does give me a few ideas for how to spice it up. In my case I can have enemies spawn behind the player so that he meets them on his way back. Since the doors are already open at that point, it's no longer a problem. Thanks! :)

I had fun with this one "and left you a review"
how on earth did you make the map transition back and forth? "between the tavern and the Dungeon" I was a little surprised by that :]

All in all a fun way to get your Daily foundry quest done

p.s. glad to see you get credit :)
