I just love the grind of constantly playing and being in instances and killing mobs. If this is fround upon like in GW2 this will case me to detract from the game.
Dont get me wrong im not an XP chaser or a max level fanatic. I just love to play something that is a great source of entertainment as GW2 was before they started nerfing and changing everthing.
I don't see that as exploiting. If you want to build an instance that has the max number of mobs at whatever difficulty you set it for... from what I understand the game will hand you the already set xp and loot for the experience. you don't have to have an ounce of plot, dialogue or puzzle solving etc. it can just be a gauntlet of enemies. i like that too sometimes.
if you want to build an instance that has the max number of mobs that can't hit you because you exploited some weird mechanic... well thats not as ok in my book.
In my opinion, I think there should be diminishing returns on doing the exact same instance over and over when it comes to the foundry... that will prevent someone from creating an instance with the max number of mobs and just mindless grinding and regrinding the EXACT same content over and over. (granted they could make 3-4 or whatever duplicate instances... but again as i said in an earlier post--- UGC isn't perfect)
EDIT: Honestly, I don't know why content wouldn't have a daily lock on it anyway. 2 runs max and then it locks out until the next day. Why would anyone need to rerun the same user gen content anyway for any other reason than to try to max xp/loot?
Absolutely! Both in the same map and linked to another dungeon map.
Thanks, mate! That's great news
I DO hope they give a comment section when you rate a Foundry mission. I know it's a tricky beast when you let online people freely post words, but I'd like to know WHY a certain mission is great if the rating is high or why it's awful if the rating is low. Stars only go so far in explaining quality. Opinion is opinion after all.

Because that's what some people find fun? If you want to run quests A,B, C, great. But some people enjoy running A, A, A. I don't see how it's any different so long as both people are having fun, and A isn't being repeated because it's an exploitable quest.

I like that too - what we are frowning upon as explained by cosmictimber is exploit - i.e. if you are fighting the cobra, you defang it, give it paralyzer, then you call a player to kill it, when player kills it, you get XP and loot for killing deadly cobra (GI Joe!)

Not a problem UNTIL A is an exploitable quest. If you are in monster zoo killing different kind of monsters quickly and getting XP - it is fine, but when you create a content to fight "UNFAIRLY" it is wrong. Also if you get in that quest XP intended for Diplomacy etc when there is no diplomacy, that is also wrong.

They do. When you run a mission, if you fail or succeed you get to leave a comment and rate it. Nice to have to give some input for sure.
I wonder if they will have any items that can be manipulated by people running the mission. I'd love to have a mission with a rubble blocked stairway that had to be cleared to proceed in it. Smash some locked doors, bend some bars...all good stuff.

While some people find A, A, A fun... but disallowing A, A, A helps the greater good of locking down potential exploits. I don't pretend to know the balance in what would work. (maybe 2times and locked isnt the answer... maybe its 5 or 20...) I am just saying that if you don't want things exploited, and you don't want content options in the foundry itself locked.... locking the number of times a given instance can be run in a day, is a way around gridning exploits. That way an exploit can exist, but its impact is minimized.
Yes, its going to make the people who love doing one thing over and over again upset... but sometimes you do have to draw lines for the general health of a game.

Something like Mortal Combat where Asmodeus NPC talks to you everytime you fight one kind of group and all he says is "Victory [Name]" and Fight!!!...
becfore fighting next fight. Same map, some 20 or so fights with different monster groups. EPIC!!!

that sounds pretty cool... but you already know I am a fan of the other "deeper" adventure too. I gotta get crackin... i have too many unworked ideas... and zero idea of how the foundry really will play out.
We all know what happened dont we:) All the talk about caps etc etc, not a single thing has been done, lvl 60 in two days, what a joke....
I got to 53 in 2 days of questing... admittedly that was almost non stop playing though - my point is leveling is pretty quick with or without exploits.
Up to level 35 you can average 2 levels per hour-hour and a half. It's a pretty high exp game regardless.
One thing I'm curious on is I'm assuming doing missions or killing monsters gives some form of experience points or gold. What's keeping people from exploiting this and creating extremely easy repeatable simple missions to easily achieve max level and gold?
