Help finding certain Foundry locations

Ok so I have played a more than average number of foundries at my level but one thing has been really messing things up.. first off let me say that I know how to find a trail to a quest, I know about Z and I know about the world map.. now I will give you a step by step of what I am doing.

1. enter new zone (currently Neverdeath Graveyard)
2. find and talk to harper
3. accept 1-3 of the "local" (here I chose one I did sry I cant recall the name and "Lust for Adventure")
4. press J and path to one of the Foundries.
5. found one of them, did it, and exit.
6. press J and select next Foundry (in this case "Lust for Adventure")
7. no trail to follow...
8. press J, read objective (in this case "find Galroth's Hideout")
9. check world map... nothing
10. grumble and scratch head.

Now this has happened with about 40% of the foundries I have attempted. What in the hell is going on? What am I doing wrong? I cannot find anything saying this is a bug.

The quests trails have been notorious buggy for Foundry quests since the Alpha. Something we have been trying to get them to fix.

Also, Authors have the option of HIDING the objective markers, and thus the quest trail, to make quests more exploratory on some parts where they might want you to have to find a hidden objective.

You may need to read the text to understand where to look for your quest objective?

I have, there are no clues in all of the ones this happened with and as I stated in the one I was in the middle of the location simply disappeared off the map and I can no longer get to it.

This happens occasionally. Try logging out and back in again. That usually fixes it.

I dont mind having no trails, as long as there is some story arch that gives a good indication where to go.

Hoever this particular quest indicates that there is a note telling you how to reach Galroth and somehow i never got a note..

Well, there's 2 parts to this.

    1) Not all authors set every map to a world map location. I think it makes you do this now, so it will only occur on older Foundries. If they don't set a marker on the world map for all their maps individually, you have no way to return once you leave. Essentially this happens when an object on their first map is used to transport you to the 2nd map. If you leave, the only way to get back to the 2nd map if the object on their first map, and you can not return to previous maps. This makes you have to drop the quest and restart it (I always send the author a message/post on their forum about this so they can fix it).

    2) If the quest starts in a zone (not from world map) and you are not in that zone, you will not get a trail to the entrance. Maybe one of the Foundries that you thought started in your zone was in a different one and that caused no trail? Sometimes it's a bit unclear where to go from the initial quest info if they don't start in Protector's Enclave/World map (and sometimes they flat out don't tell you and it's a guessing game).
NW-DPTTECLTF - Cindy Jones and the Holy Stein. A simple but hopefully entertaining foray into the world of Foundry.

2 month old zombie thread (probably a long since patched bug) successfully resurrected.

For The Lust for adventure quest, you have to travel back to Protector's Enclave, then it shows a path to a door on tymor street. It would have been helpful if that had been mentioned in the quest log, but alas it was not.

Closing this double necro down. This undead beast must have been a perma stealth TR in its previous life!
