I would definitely pay for a monk class if that is how we are going to get it. That class has my interest and has always been my favorite class when playing DnD or pathfinder. They would be amazingly fun to implement and could really open up the game like they did for everquest. Right now it feels like we last sustained Dps and a true Off tanker.
The role that a monk could fill could be utility/off tank or a Dps/Control type. I honestly miss the EQ days when I could offtank with my Monk and maintain utility during combat. A Snake Style monk could off tank while a brawler could dish out the dps. I honestly think that this class is needed asap (In my own opinion).
Nope. Personally never cared for them, and it seems every game i've seen seen them played in have high dps, high heals, and high damage avoidance. Hence they end up being played by min-maxers and OP.
I would gladly pay for more caster classes though, Controller Wizard and Devoted Cleric as the only choices is just depressing. Monk would be another physical melee with three already.

To me all casters are pretty much the same, they point and things either explode or heal.. I hardly ever play casters cause of how boring they are. I do get what you mean but I have yet to see monks being OP in any game. In everquest they had a sorta heal, it was the same everyone else got, They did ok damage but they had to avoid and use tactics to actually do the best. Usually min-maxers would go Shadowknight or Necromancer in my opinion, maybe sorceror or wizard.

I'll pay for warlock, I'll pay for psion, I'll pay for other -interesting- classes. Monk? I'd try it if it was given to me.
Warlock, psion, or any other casters are all going to be pretty much exactly like controller wizard, they are pretty much the same classes. Monks have entirely new mechanics and don't have the whole point and magic happens about them which makes all casters sooo boring.
Nahh, Monk has never been my favorite class. I will, however, pay for you to have a monk! Yea dude, that's just the type of awesome mood I'm in. You're welcome.
Only if I get my bard though.

Ahh thanks you are an amazing guy! *hands good guy award made with dragon bone and Wyvern hair.*

A melee striker with light equipment, rolling and jumpin' around, mobility, fast attacks with a couple small weapons? Yeah. We haven't seen -that- yet.
Not quite sure if a monk class would be able to do much vs the hordes of orcs and undead. Not to mention all the continual self damage you would be taking.

Well we can agree to disagree, I think we are two halves a coin on this one ^..^. Monks are quite a bit different then Rouges and I don't feel that Monks fit the melee striker as there only option like rouges are. I bet you feel that warlocks are different then wizards which I feel are both Clothy dps machines that point and things die but they themselves are squishy.

tbh Bow ranger I think is most important to add.... there's a lack of none magic based ranged class and it needs to be filled right now
I see that but They already have their symbol on the Character creation screen so they are pretty much already made and just need a tiny bit of creation left. The monk doesnt even seem like its even on the drawing board yet.

I do feel warlocks are different than wizards being strikers and not controllers... but I will say more variety isn't a bad thing whichever way they go with it.
If have read the 4e books then you would be aware that is in fact a monk class, and a couple of them...as well as a psionics class. I figure we'll get those classes at some point down the road... but first we need our base classes finished...ranger, paladin, warlord, warlock ect so i wouldnt expect it anytime soon.

Who else wants the monk?!!?!
I certainly would! I loved the monk class! Along with all of the other Oriental setting classes, they're great!

Rather see the Bow ranger, and dual wielding Ranger, and a Paladin...but I would like to see a bunch of classes to be honest. Don't mind paying for them if the price was reasonable, and I think they should come with the character slot they fill.

Judging by their price model, I expect the new class to be at least 35-40 dollars.

Not that I wouldnt mind, it being a f2p game, I dont mind supporting through the cash shop.

Obviously referring to Diablo 3 Monks.
