Whenever I feel depressed about something, just playing a game calms me down. If not games, I just go to sleep while listening to my I-Pod. What about you guys?

If I am just a little melancholy, I usually resort to TV. In fact, it's probably the only real time I watch TV. I need both energy and creativity to RP, so video games won't cut it. I usually find some film that's a little cerebral, or sometimes I find a documentary and just allow myself to rest. I'm usually a little sad because of exhaustion or stress, so this method works for me.
Actual depression? I take that very seriously. I tell my wife first, so she's aware. I avoid all vice at that point, particularly alcohol. I try to sleep it off if possible, if not I take the day very slowly and cancel as many appointments as I can. I usually try to reward myself too, I go out and buy that new baseball hat, or perhaps visit the local record store and pick up new music. Sometimes I write, as it can sometimes help sort out feelings etc. etc.
I am lucky in that actual depression for is not only rare, it's temporary and doesn't require medication, it just needs a little TLC. I treat depression as if I had the flu or something, and I take it easy, take very good care of myself, and luckily for me, it passes usually within a day. Others get depressed often and need medication to cope. I respect those who understand that and take appropriate action, I dislike when very depressed people can't admit it and instead never seem to realize that their ill, making everyone else suffer with them.

Well I used to go climbing before I moved to Texas. Nothing clears the head like a day on the rocks. Now however, since what Texans consider climbing isn't, I go Fishing. Grab the Yak, and either go to the Gulf for some Reds, or stick around town for some Bass. Just being outside will cure my moodiness/depression in one day.
As someone who suffers from a thyroid condition, which includes frequent mood-swings and depression-like states on a regular basis...
First, have a rock-solid friend that you can literally call at any time. Nothing battles depression more than having someone you know you can talk to whenever you need it. Most people, when suffering depression, tend to draw away from people and that's really the worst thing you can do, because it leads to isolationism, which leads to feelings of loneliness, which just adds more fuel to the depression fire.
Secondly, avoid stress. Again, more of that adding fuel to the fire. Stress causes anxiety which exacerbates depression. I know this is a hard one for working people and students, but you have to let things go.
Thirdly, be OPEN about when you're feeling depressed. It's nothing to be ashamed of. More people are subject to depression than any of us care to admit, but it's something that's very real. Even if it's transitory depression, it's still worth talking about (see first point).
And lastly, writing I've found is a really good catharsis. I keep a specific, private journal for when I'm feeling depressed and I write everything that I'm feeling down in that book. Once you've put it to paper, you actually do start to feel better. Too many people try to bottle it up, hide it, "deal with it" by themselves -- and you just can't do that.
Usually it involves music, tv, and a couple bowls of Bluebell Icecream. For me every couple months I may be a little depressed in a couple days I get over it
I have dogs. The best animal a person could ever have because they do not care about anything except being your friend. They're always happy to see you and more than willing to lick your face right off your head if you would let them. Most important for me, they always make me smile and laugh.
There is a rumor floating around that I am working on a new foundry quest. It was started by me.

I try to watch a series or I go for a walk. Usually going to a bar and drink some good coffee while reading a newspaper makes my day. Yes, I'm happy with little. :P
Characters: - Titania Silverblade, the Iron Rose of Myth Drannor (Lvl 60 GWF, Destroyer) - Gwyneth, the Cowardly Cat Burglar Drowling (Lvl 60 TR, Saboteur) - Lady Rowanne Firehair, Heartwarder of Sune (Lvl 33 DC) - Satella, Sensate (LvL 44 CW, Renegade, Non-Active)
I have a chronic depression, along with other not-so-important-but-quite-annoying mental disorder. When I get depressed, I usually play video games, read books, listen to music. Also giving someone a hug and expressing myself(writing, drawing) helps.
