Good point. wish I'd not been cheap and would have just paid the extra $140.
Even still they should have rewarded the $60 founders as well. I shelled out $120 for the wife and I which is always pricey for games as is never mind spending $400.

Yeah same here. Bought a copy for the wife as well. Definitely could not have afforded $400. Lets just hope the population calms down soon!

Forget the Drow.
Forget the Spider.
Forget all the rest.
As I've been saying to others since february: the absolutely most valuable item in the Heroes of the North Founder's pack:
QUEUE POSITION 1
Every. Single. Time.
Assuming the queue's are fixed in a few days, its no different than having the early access they already had. After a few days and there is little to no queue, its no longer a bonus.
I agree that Guardian Founders should also have the VIP Access. Though Cryptic chose to use this feature as one of the "competing" values of the HotN package, they didn't describe it well enough for people to really understand what it is. I knew what it is because STO has this feature for lifetime/Gold subs.
And as to the statement that when things level-out it is no longer a bonus because wait times become mi minimal to zero - that's true. Except every time there is new content added - the server smashfest always starts up again. This will be true in Neverwineter, and exponentially higher degrees as D&D is a loot more popular that Star Trek ever was.
So when they release the "vanilla Drow" race we'll see it again, though unlikely to be at the levels we're seeing now, thank goodness.

Unless they artificially make a queue. I don't see why that would be a stretch for a F2P game that has an option to basically remove the queue.
I hope that doesn't happen as I have limited time to play and spending half of that waiting to log on would be a deal breaker.
I would be happy to subscribe to a monthly based subscription

I can just see the business department at Perfect World now...
Cryptic Server Admin: Oh, lots of people are trying the game now that the free version is live. Guess I will have to activate the other servers now.
PW Businessman: *Stares at screen, drooling, noticing all the people now paying 200$ to get to the front of the queue, then realizes what the Server Admin just said* NOOOOOOOO! *Body-checks the Sever Admin away from the equipment*

This is pretty much exactly how it works too.

I give em credit for the spider mount, it is definitively worth $40 of the $200.
I expected a queue, but not like this. They are losing a good amount of income though with them being so high and the servers going down.
Agreed, first impressions and all of that.
I had the chance to hop in and level a wizard to 5 yesterday before I drove 5 minutes to the house. I had no queue at that point. When I got home and set up (maybe another 5 minutes) and went to log back in to try a rogue to level 5 there was a 5-7k queue.
So, I wait 12 hours and look again, 14k queue this morning. To me this is beyond dumb. Add in that it affected my STO last night when I got bored of queue and went to STO and I'm over NW Online already - and probably STO too beyond Doff missions and Dil mining here and there for zen for the future.

Well I'd agree that it's a terrible move on PWE/Cryptic's part to have any sort of server relationship between STO/CO/NWO at this stage. If massive amounts of stress in NWO is affecting STO, then what's going to happen on the 25th of this month when New Romulus expansion hits STO? Probably unstable server issues for NWO... The tech people should look into changing this.

For $200? LOL I think not. Actually, TBH, the queue jumping as a feature of a purchasable product is bordering on unscrupulous. It creates a business environment where eliminating queues and providing a good experience for the majority of the player base is a bad business strategy.
Wow, what a deal. Well, you can either do that or fire the game up once in the morning and let your place be kept by an anti-afk macro, like people did in all mmos that had ridiculous queues like that...

You miss the point entirely.
And this VIP Access feature has been with Star Trek Online for three years.
That purchase was not for the VIP Queue Access. it was for everything in the package. This thread is only stating that among everything you get in that package, the VIP Queue Access is among the most valuable of all of them.
As has been stated: it WILL settle down to where queues will be minimal or even nonexistent. As was stated above: someone went to their STO account - BUT STO will be SLAMFEST when Legacy of Romulus is released May 21 (I am fortunate I am a lifetimer there and will still have VIP Queue Access over there as well).
This thread is not intended as a 'slight' against non HotN purchasers, it is simply intended as a reenforcement of the decision to make that purchase for those who did. because it really did require a leap of faith, a bet on Cryptic. And it is, fortunately, a winning bet.

thats my question as well - will Queues be over tomorrow or in a few days or will the last...if the later, im thinking about getting additionally the 200 Dollar pack for this sole reason (cause i neither like the Spider nore the panther) and i dont really want to do that

how are the Queues in sto? is that even ftp?
The queues will even out and likely not be an issue much in a couple days - possibly even be completely eliminated in a couple weeks. However, every time they add new content - it will get just like this. The same will happen in STO on May 21st when the release the new Romulan Expansion.

I think you misspelled "months."
Encounter Matrix | Advanced Foundry Topics
I wouldn't worry about it going up to 12k, that is a bug they are addressing its not the true position in queue for him.

This was the tipping point for me on the HotN vs. the Guardian pack. If only for a few days at launch, it was worth it

And you guys deserve it. You bet on the game, and you made the right bet.
And only the second day, at that...
But it is.

Absolutely right, no way I'd be playing if I had an hour+++ long wait
