I am doing great so far, but not even close to 60 so I couldn't tell you. Things die too fast before they can actually harm me.
Wait till you hit 30-35. Then I can officially welcome you to the "Come get your face owned" squad. Healer companion dies in seconds if you even let the mobs near her. And if you don't, then you die in seconds instead, specially if you're fighting more than three melee mobs.
I hope you have lots of deflection and defense, cause otherwise it's a seriously bumpy ride
If you have a companion, NPC or otherwise, you are not soloing.
that is like arguing that pet classes can't solo do to having pets.
All classes are assumed to be using them
When we turn away from the darkness of
our past to take comfort in our peaceful lives, we
sometimes forget how dearly that peace was bought. But
there is much worth remembering in the darkness...
If you have a companion, NPC or otherwise, you are not soloing.
If I don't have to deal with another human then I am solo.
My NPC companion won't ninja my loot, won't practice the new swear words that they learned in an effort to look "cool", and won't otherwise make me question their parentage.
Now if I am with a friend(s) then I am not solo, but an NPC companion is just another piece of gear that my character is using.

I'm not having any problems on my GF. But to be honest I think it would go a lot quicker with better damage. My friend is playing a cleric and he's catching up to me quickly.

Is there a Rank 30 Cleric Companion out there, thinking of buying 1, for my soon to be my Guardian FIGHTER. please any help on it will greatly appreciate.
It's not soloing because it gives you access to the abilities of another class you wouldn't have access to otherwise if you were just using your own class. Whether or not it's an NPC or taken into account that everyone should have one is irrelevant. Soloing means you're alone. If an NPC is with you, you're not alone.
It is soloing because the DESIGN of the game considers the companion to be part of your character, just like a skill or an ability. It is an augment. So, yes, it is absolutely relevant that the game was designed with each character having a companion. It's just part of every character. Not using a companion is a self-chosen handicap, like playing without potions.

this is in no way true

Strictly in terms of the definition, sure. But not in practice how it applies to this game. Solo = you and your companion. Just like TOR.
I am having the biggest problems soloing a foundry adventure at 20. I get swarmed HARD. And I teleport away but I don't do enough damage to kill things quickly.

This may just be the Foundry quest you are playing. Most of the ones I play are manageable by solo characters, though I bumped into some where I just get rolled.
Try something like "The 27th Level", which works well at pretty much every level.

Bear in mind, some people write Foundry quests as "Killer DMs" and just throw everything and the kitchen sink at you ~trying~ to kill you. I don't mind a challenge but I've been in several Foundry missions where it was the intent (which failed, thankyouverymuch) to kill the player.

Fail troll.
Yes, he is. The game assumes the presence of a companion (or a stone/cat), even in the 5-man dungeons. It states so in the loading screens.
